1 How wretched I am, a harvester in summer time, like a gleaner at the vintage: not a single cluster to eat,none of those early figs I love!	1 Guai a me, che son divenuto come colui, che in autunno cerca di raspollare dopo la vendemmia: non v'è un gradinolo da mangiare: ha desiderato l'anima mia de' fichi primaticci.
2 The faithful have vanished from the land: there is no one honest left. Al of them are on the alert forblood, every man hunting his brother with a net.	2 Non v'ha più un santo sopra la terra, e non havvi un giusto tragli uomini: tutti tendono insidie alla vita altrui; il fratello va a caccia del fratello per ammazzarlo.
3 Their hands are adept at wrong-doing: the official makes his demands, the judge gives judgement for abribe, the man in power pronounces as he pleases.	3 Il male delle loro mani lo chiamano un bene. Il principe domanda, e il giudice rende il suo debito. Il grande manifesta il desiderio dell'anima sua: hanno messa in iscompiglio la terra.
4 The best of them is like a briar, the most honest of them like a thorn-hedge. Now from the north theirpunishment approaches! That wil be when they are confounded!	4 Il migliore di costoro è come un paliuro; e il più giusto è come la spina delle siepi. E' venuta la giornata di tue sentinelle, e la tua visita: adesso quelli saranno spersi.
5 Trust no neighbour, put no confidence in a friend; do not open your mouth to the wife who shares yourbed.	5 Non credete all'amico, e non vi fidate di chi governa: tieni chiusa la tua bocca con quella, che dorme con te.
6 For son insults father, daughter rebels against mother, daughter-in-law against mother-in-law; aperson's enemies come from within the household itself.	6 Perocché il figliuolo fa oltraggio al padre, e la figliuola si ribella contro la madre, la nuora contro la suocera: nemici dell'uomo sono quelli di sua famiglia.
7 But I shall look to Yahweh, my hope is in the God who will save me; my God will hear me.	7 Ma io volgerò il mio sguardo al Signore: aspetterò Dio mio Salvatore: mi ascolterà il mio Dio.
8 Do not gloat over me, my enemy: though I have fal en, I shal rise; though I live in darkness, Yahweh ismy light.	8 Non rallegrarti di mia caduta, o mia nemica: io mi rialzerò, e mentre sarò nelle tenebre, il Signore è mia luce.
9 I must endure Yahweh's anger for I have sinned against him, until he takes up my cause and rights mywrongs; he wil bring me out into the light, and then I shal contemplate his saving justice.	9 Porterò l'ira del Signore, perchè ho peccato contro di lui, fino a tanto ch'egli giudichi la causa mia, e sentenzi in mio favore: egli mi ritornerà in luce, e io vedrò la mia giustizia.
10 When my enemy sees this, she wil be covered with shame, having sneered, 'Where is Yahweh yourGod?' This time, I shall be watching as she is trampled underfoot like mud in the streets.	10 E vedrà ciò la mia nemica, e sarà coperta di confusione, ella, che dice a me: Dov'è il Signore Dio tuo? Io la guarderò d'alto in basso: ella adesso sarà conculcata come il fango delle piazze.
11 That wil be the day for rebuilding your walls! The day for expanding your frontiers!	11 Il giorno, in cui saran ristorate le tue rovine, in quel giorno anderà lungi la tirannia.
12 The day when others come to you al the way from Assyria, from Egypt, from Tyre and al the way fromthe Euphrates, from sea to sea, from the mountains to the mountains!	12 In quel giorno verranno dall'Assiria fino a te, e fino alle città forti: e dalle città forti fino al fiume, e dall'un mare fino all'altro, e dal monte fino all'altro monte.
13 The earth wil become a desert by reason of its inhabitants, in return for what they have done.	13 E quella terra sarà desolata per colpa de' suoi abitatori, e per frutto de' loro pravi pensieri
14 With shepherd's crook lead your people to pasture, the flock that is your heritage, living confined in aforest with meadow land al round. Let them graze in Bashan and Gilead as in the days of old!	14 Governa in mezzo al Carmelo col la tua verga il tuo popolo, il gregge di tuo retaggio, che solingo abita nella foresta: pascoleranno in Basan, e in Galaad come ne' giorni antichi.
15 As in the days when you came out of Egypt, grant us to see wonders!	15 Io farogli veder prodigj, come nel tempo di loro uscita dalla terra d'Egitto.
16 The nations wil see and be confounded in spite of al their power; they wil put their hands over theirmouths, their ears wil be deafened.	16 Ciò vedranno le genti, e saran confuse con tutta la lor possanza; si metteranno il dito alla bocca, e diverranno sorde le loro orecchie.
17 They wil lick the dust like snakes, like reptiles that crawl on the earth. They wil creep trembling out oftheir lairs, in terror before you.	17 Leccheranno la terra come le serpi, e quasi insetti della terra saranno sbigottite nelle lor case: temeranno il Signore Dio nostro, e avran paura di te.
18 What god can compare with you for pardoning guilt and for overlooking crime? He does not harbouranger for ever, since he delights in showing faithful love.	18 Chi, o Dio, è simile a te, che togli l'iniquità, e passi sopra il peccato delle reliquie di tua eredità? Egli non darà più libero il corso al suo furore, perche è amante della misericordia.
19 Once more have pity on us, tread down our faults; throw al our sins to the bottom of the sea.	19 Egli si volgerà a noi, e avrà pietà: seppellirà le nostre iniquità, e getterà tutti i nostri peccati nel profondo del mare.
20 Grant Jacob your faithfulness, and Abraham your faithful love, as you swore to our ancestors from thedays of long ago.	20 Tu ti mostrerai verace a Giacobbe, misericordioso ad Abramo, come giurasti a' padri nostri ab antico.
