1 LOVER: How beautiful you are, my beloved, how beautiful you are! Your eyes are doves, behind yourveil; your hair is like a flock of goats surging down Mount Gilead.	1 Ecco, sei bella, mia amica, ecco, sei bella: i tuoi occhi sono colombe attraverso il tuo velo; i tuoi capelli sono come un gregge di capre che discendono dalla montagna del Gàlaad.
2 Your teeth, a flock of sheep to be shorn when they come up from the washing. Each one has its twin,not one unpaired with another.	2 I tuoi denti sono come un gregge di pecore che salgono dal bagno: tutti hanno gemelli e nessuno ne è privo.
3 Your lips are a scarlet thread and your words enchanting. Your cheeks, behind your veil, are halves ofpomegranate.	3 Le tue labbra sono come un filo di scarlatto e il tuo parlare è incantevole. Come uno spicchio di melograno le tue guance attraverso il tuo velo.
4 Your neck is the Tower of David built on layers, hung round with a thousand bucklers, and each theshield of a hero.	4 Il tuo collo è come la torre di Davide costruita per trofei: mille scudi vi sono appesi, tutte armature di guerrieri.
5 Your two breasts are two fawns, twins of a gazel e, that feed among the lilies.	5 I tuoi seni sono come due caprioli, gemelli di gazzella, che pascolano fra gigli.

13 Your shoots form an orchard of pomegranate trees, bearing most exquisite fruit:	13 I tuoi germogli, un paradiso di melograni con i frutti più squisiti: cipro con nardi,
14 nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with al the incense-bearing trees; myrrh and aloes, with thesubtlest odours.	14 nardo, croco, cannella e cinnamomo con tutte le piante d'incenso, mirra ed aloe con tutti i balsami migliori.
15 Fountain of the garden, wel of living water, streams flowing down from Lebanon!	15 Fontana di giardini, pozzo di acque vive, che scaturiscono dal Libano.
16 BELOVED: Awake, north wind, come, wind of the south! Breathe over my garden, to spread its sweetsmel around. Let my love come into his garden, let him taste its most exquisite fruits.	16 Déstati, aquilone, entra, austro: soffia sul mio giardino, stillino i suoi aromi!
