Psalms 131

NEW JERUSALEM	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 [Song of Ascents] Yahweh, my heart is not haughty, I do not set my sights too high. I have taken nopart in great affairs, in wonders beyond my scope.	1 A song of ascents. Of David. LORD, my heart is not proud; nor are my eyes haughty. I do not busy myself with great matters, with things too sublime for me.
2 No, I hold myself in quiet and silence, like a little child in its mother's arms, like a little child, so I keepmyself.	2 Rather, I have stilled my soul, hushed it like a weaned child. Like a weaned child on its mother's lap, so is my soul within me.
3 Let Israel hope in Yahweh henceforth and for ever.	3 Israel, hope in the LORD, now and forever.
