Exodus 24

NEW JERUSALEM	EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL
1 He then said to Moses, 'Come up to Yahweh, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of theelders of Israel and bow down at a distance.	1 Zu Mose sprach er: Steig zum Herrn hinauf zusammen mit Aaron, Nadab, Abihu und mit siebzig von den Ältesten Israels; werft euch in einiger Entfernung nieder!
2 Moses alone will approach Yahweh; the others wil not approach, nor wil the people come up withhim.'	2 Mose allein soll sich dem Herrn nähern, die anderen dürfen nicht näher kommen und das Volk darf den Berg nicht mit ihm zusammen besteigen.
3 Moses went and told the people al Yahweh's words and al the laws, and al the people answered withone voice, 'All the words Yahweh has spoken we wil carry out!'	3 Mose kam und übermittelte dem Volk alle Worte und Rechtsvorschriften des Herrn. Das ganze Volk antwortete einstimmig und sagte: Alles, was der Herr gesagt hat, wollen wir tun.
4 Moses put al Yahweh's words into writing, and early next morning he built an altar at the foot of themountain, with twelve standing-stones for the twelve tribes of Israel.	4 Mose schrieb alle Worte des Herrn auf. Am nächsten Morgen stand er zeitig auf und errichtete am Fuß des Berges einen Altar und zwölf Steinmale für die zwölf Stämme Israels.
5 Then he sent certain young Israelites to offer burnt offerings and sacrifice bul ocks to Yahweh ascommunion sacrifices.	5 Er schickte die jungen Männer Israels aus. Sie brachten Brandopfer dar und schlachteten junge Stiere als Heilsopfer für den Herrn.
6 Moses then took half the blood and put it into basins, and the other half he sprinkled on the altar.	6 Mose nahm die Hälfte des Blutes und goss es in eine Schüssel, mit der anderen Hälfte besprengte er den Altar.
7 Then, taking the Book of the Covenant, he read it to the listening people, who then said, 'We shall do everything that Yahweh has said; we shall obey.'	7 Darauf nahm er die Urkunde des Bundes und verlas sie vor dem Volk. Sie antworteten: Alles, was der Herr gesagt hat, wollen wir tun; wir wollen gehorchen.
8 Moses then took the blood and sprinkled it over the people, saying, 'This is the blood of the covenantwhich Yahweh has made with you, entailing all these stipulations.'	8 Da nahm Mose das Blut, besprengte damit das Volk und sagte: Das ist das Blut des Bundes, den der Herr aufgrund all dieser Worte mit euch geschlossen hat.
9 Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu and seventy elders of Israel then went up,	9 Danach stiegen Mose, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu und die siebzig von den Ältesten Israels hinauf
10 and they saw the God of Israel beneath whose feet there was what looked like a sapphire pavementpure as the heavens themselves,	10 und sie sahen den Gott Israels. Die Fläche unter seinen Füßen war wie mit Saphir ausgelegt und glänzte hell wie der Himmel selbst.
11 but he did no harm to the Israelite notables; they actually gazed on God and then ate and drank.	11 Gott streckte nicht seine Hand gegen die Edlen der Israeliten aus; sie durften Gott sehen und sie aßen und tranken.
12 Yahweh said to Moses, 'Come up to me on the mountain. Stay there, and I will give you the stonetablets -- the law and the commandment -- which I have written for their instruction.'	12 Der Herr sprach zu Mose: Komm herauf zu mir auf den Berg und bleib hier! Ich will dir die Steintafeln übergeben, die Weisung und die Gebote, die ich aufgeschrieben habe. Du sollst das Volk darin unterweisen.
13 Moses made ready, with Joshua his assistant, and they went up the mountain of God.	13 Da erhob sich Mose mit seinem Diener Josua und stieg den Gottesberg hinauf.
14 He said to the elders, 'Wait here for us until we come back to you. You have Aaron and Hur with you;if anyone has any matter to settle, let him go to them.'	14 Zu den Ältesten sagte er: Bleibt hier, bis wir zu euch zurückkehren; Aaron und Hur sind ja bei euch. Wer ein Anliegen hat, wende sich an sie.
15 Moses then went up the mountain. Cloud covered the mountain.	15 Dann stieg Mose auf den Berg und die Wolke bedeckte den Berg.
16 The glory of Yahweh rested on Mount Sinai and the cloud covered it for six days. On the seventh dayYahweh cal ed to Moses from inside the cloud.	16 Die Herrlichkeit des Herrn ließ sich auf den Sinai herab und die Wolke bedeckte den Berg sechs Tage lang. Am siebten Tag rief der Herr mitten aus der Wolke Mose herbei.
17 To the watching Israelites, the glory of Yahweh looked like a devouring fire on the mountain top.	17 Die Erscheinung der Herrlichkeit des Herrn auf dem Gipfel des Berges zeigte sich vor den Augen der Israeliten wie verzehrendes Feuer.
18 Moses went right into the cloud and went on up the mountain. Moses stayed on the mountain for fortydays and forty nights.	18 Mose ging mitten in die Wolke hinein und stieg auf den Berg hinauf. Vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte blieb Mose auf dem Berg.
