Tobit 7

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 As they entered Ecbatana, Tobias said, 'Brother Azarias, take me at once to our brother Raguel's.' Andhe showed him the way to the house of Raguel, whom they found sitting beside his courtyard door. They greetedhim first, and he replied, 'Welcome and greetings, brothers.' And he took them into his house.	1 Entrando in Ecbàtana, Tobia disse: "Fratello Azaria, conducimi direttamente dal nostro parente Raguel". L'angelo lo condusse nella casa di Raguel. Lo trovarono seduto presso la porta del cortile e lo salutarono per primi. Raguel rispose: "Salute, fratelli, siate benvenuti!". E li fece entrare in casa.
2 He said to his wife Edna, 'How like my brother Tobit this young man is!'	2 Indi disse alla moglie Edna: "Quanto somiglia questo giovane al mio parente Tobi!".
3 Edna asked them where they came from; they said, 'We are sons of Naphtali exiled in Nineveh.'	3 Edna domandò loro: "Di dove siete, fratelli?". Le risposero: "Siamo della tribù di Neftali, deportati a Ninive".
4 'Do you know our brother Tobit?' 'Yes.' 'How is he?'	4 Edna soggiunse: "Conoscete il nostro parente Tobi?". Le dissero: "Sì, lo conosciamo".
5 'He is alive and wel .' And Tobias added, 'He is my father.'	5 Riprese: "Come sta?". Risposero: "Sta bene, è sempre in vita". E Tobia aggiunse: "E' mio padre".
6 Raguel leapt to his feet and kissed him and wept.	6 Allora Raguel balzò in piedi e l'abbracciò piangendo. Indi gli disse: "Sii benedetto, o figlio! Hai un ottimo padre. Che disgrazia che sia diventato cieco un uomo così giusto che faceva elemosine!". Si gettò al collo del suo parente Tobia e si rimise a piangere.
7 Then, finding words, he said, 'Blessings on you, child! You are the son of a noble father. How sad it isthat someone so bright and ful of good deeds should have gone blind!' He fel on the neck of his kinsman Tobiasand wept.	7 Piansero anche la moglie Edna e la figlia Sara.
8 And his wife Edna wept for him, and so did his daughter Sarah.	8 Poi Raguel macellò un montone del gregge facendo loro una calorosa accoglienza.
9 Raguel kil ed a ram from the flock, and they gave them a warm welcome. They washed and bathed andsat down to table. Then Tobias said to Raphael, 'Brother Azarias, wil you ask Raguel to give me my sisterSarah?'	9 Dopo essersi lavati e fatte le abluzioni, si misero a tavola. Tobia disse a Raffaele: "Fratello Azaria, chiedi a Raguel che mi dia in moglie la mia parente Sara".
10 Raguel overheard the words, and said to the young man, 'Eat and drink, and make the most of yourevening; no one else has the right to take my daughter Sarah -- no one but you, my brother. In any case even Iam not at liberty to give her to anyone else, since you are her next of kin. However, my boy, I must be frank with you:	10 Udite queste parole, Raguel disse al giovane: "Mangia e bevi e sta' allegro questa sera; giacché nessuno all'infuori di te, mio parente, ha il diritto di sposare mia figlia Sara; del resto neppure io ho la facoltà di darla a un altro uomo all'infuori di te, dato che tu sei il parente più stretto. Tuttavia, figlio, ti devo parlare con tutta franchezza.
11 I have tried to find a husband for her seven times among our kinsmen, and al of them have died thefirst evening, on going to her room. But for the present, my boy, eat and drink; the Lord wil grant you his graceand peace.' Tobias spoke out, 'I wil not hear of eating and drinking til you have come to a decision about me.'Raguel answered, 'Very wel . Since, by the prescription of the Book of Moses she is given to you, Heaven itselfdecrees she shal be yours. I therefore entrust your sister to you. From now on you are her brother and she isyour sister. She is given to you from today for ever. The Lord of heaven favour you tonight, my child, and grantyou his grace and peace.'	11 L'ho data a sette mariti appartenenti alla mia famiglia e tutti sono morti nella notte in cui stavano per accostarsi a lei. Ora, figlio, mangia e bevi ed il Signore provvederà per voi!".
12 Raguel called for his daughter Sarah, took her by the hand and gave her to Tobias with these words, 'Ientrust her to you; the law and the ruling recorded in the Book of Moses assign her to you as your wife. Takeher; bring her home safe and sound to your father's house. The God of heaven grant you a good journey inpeace.'	12 Tobia replicò: "Non mangerò affatto né berrò fino a che non avrai deciso questo mio affare". Raguel gli disse: "Lo farò. Poiché ti viene data secondo la decisione del libro di Mosè, è il cielo che decide che ti venga data. Accogli, dunque, tua cugina. D'ora in poi tu sei suo fratello ed essa è tua sorella. Da oggi essa è tua per sempre. Il Signore del cielo vi aiuti questa notte, o figlio, e vi conceda la sua grazia e la sua pace!".
13 Then he turned to her mother and asked her to fetch him writing paper. He drew up the marriagecontract, and so he gave his daughter as bride to Tobias according to the ordinance of the Law of Moses.	13 Allora Raguel chiamò sua figlia Sara e quando essa venne, la prese per mano e l'affidò a Tobia con queste parole: "Ricevila secondo la legge e la decisione scritta nel libro di Mosè che ordina che ti sia data in moglie. Prendila e conducila sana e salva dal padre tuo. Che il Dio del cielo vi conceda pace e benessere!".
14 After this they began to eat and drink.	14 Poi chiamò la madre di Sara e le disse di portare un foglio e vi scrisse l'atto di matrimonio secondo il quale concedeva in moglie a Tobia la propria figlia secondo la decisione della legge di Mosè. Dopo di ciò cominciarono a banchettare.
15 Raguel called his wife Edna and said, 'My sister, prepare the second room and take her there.'	15 Raguel chiamò sua moglie Edna e le disse: "Sorella, prepara l'altra camera e conducila dentro".
16 She went and made the bed in this room as he had ordered, and took her daughter to it. She weptover her, then wiped away her tears and said, 'Courage, daughter! May the Lord of heaven turn your grief to joy!Courage, daughter!' And she went out.	16 Essa andò a preparare un letto nella camera, come le aveva ordinato e vi condusse la figlia. Pianse sopra di lei e dopo aver asciugato le lacrime, le disse:
	17 "Coraggio, o figlia, che il Signore del cielo cambi in gioia la tua tristezza! Coraggio, o figlia!". Ed uscì.
