NEW JERUSALEMBiblia Sagrada
He made a bronze altar, twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide and ten cubits high.1 Construyó un altar de bronce de unos diez metros de largo, otros tantos de ancho y unos cinco de alto.
He made the Sea of cast metal, ten cubits from rim to rim, circular in shape and five cubits high; a cordthirty cubits long gave the measurement of its girth.2 Hizo también el mar de metal fundido, que medía unos cinco metros de diámetro, era completamente redondo, de unos dos metros y medio de alto y unos quince de perímetro, medidos a cordel.
Under it and completely encircling it were things like oxen, ten to the cubit round the entire Sea; theoxen were in two rows, of one and the same casting with the rest.3 Por debajo del borde, todo alrededor, había figuras de toros —veinte cada metro— colocadas en dos hileras, fundidas con el mar en una sola pieza.
It rested on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, three facing east; onthese, their hindquarters al turned inwards, stood the Sea.4 Reposaba sobre doce toros: tres mirando al Norte, tres al Oeste, tres al Sur y tres al Este; tenían las patas traseras hacia dentro; encima de ellos estaba el mar.
It was a hand's breadth in thickness, and its rim was shaped like the rim of a cup-lily-shaped.
He made ten basins, putting five on the right and five on the left, for washing in; the things to be offeredas burnt offerings were to be rinsed in these, but the Sea was for the priests to wash in.6 Hizo diez jofainas; colocó cinco a la derecha y cinco a la izquierda.
He made the ten golden lamp-stands according to the pattern and placed them in the Hekal, five on theright and five on the left.7 Fabricó también diez candelabros de oro, según lo prescrito, y los colocó en el santuario, cinco a la derecha y cinco a la izquierda.
He made ten tables which he set up in the Hekal, five on the right and five on the left. He also made ahundred golden sprinkling bowls.8 También hizo diez mesas que colocó en el santuario, cinco a la derecha y cinco a la izquierda. Igualmente hizo cien acetres de oro.
He made the court of the priests and the great court with its gates and plated the gates with bronze.9 Construyó el atrio de los sacerdotes, el atrio mayor y sus puertas, que recubrió de bronce.
The Sea he placed on the right-hand side of the Temple, to the south-east.10 Colocó el mar a la derecha, hacia el Sureste.
Huram made the ash containers, the scoops and the sprinkling bowls. Thus Huram completed al thework done for King Solomon for the Temple of God:11 Jirán hizo los ceniceros, las paletas y los acetres.
the two pillars; the mouldings of the capitals surmounting the two pil ars; the two sets of filigree tocover the two mouldings of the capitals surmounting the pil ars;12 las dos columnas, las esferas de los capiteles que remataban las columnas, los dos trenzados para adornar esas esferas,
the four hundred pomegranates for the two sets of filigree -- two rows of pomegranates for each set offiligree;13 las cuatrocientas granadas para los dos trenzados —dos series de granadas por trenzado—, para que cubrieran las esferas de los capiteles que remataban las columnas.
the ten stands and the ten basins on the stands;14 Hizo también las diez basas y las diez jofainas que iban sobre ellas,
the one Sea and the twelve oxen beneath it;15 el mar sobre los doce toros,
the ash containers, scoops and forks. Al these utensils made by Huram-Abi for King Solomon for theTemple of Yahweh were of burnished bronze.16 los ceniceros, las paletas y los acetres.
The King made them by the process of sand casting, in the plain of the Jordan between Succoth andZeredah.17 El rey los fundió en la vega del Jordán, en moldes de tierra, entre Sucot y Seredá.
There was such an enormous quantity of them that the weight of the bronze could not be calculated.18 Salomón fabricó todos estos enseres en tal cuantía que era imposible calcular el peso del bronce.
Solomon made al the objects designed for the Temple of God, as wel as the golden altar and thetables for the loaves of permanent offering;19 Salomón hizo todos los utensilios que había en el templo del Señor: el altar de oro; las mesas sobre las que ponían los panes presentados;
the lamp-stands with their lamps to burn, as prescribed, in front of the Debir, of pure gold;20 los candelabros con sus lámparas, de oro acendrado, para que ardieran delante de la cámara como está mandado;
the floral work, the lamps, the tongs, of gold (and it was pure gold);21 las flores, lámparas y tenazas de oro, de oro purísimo;
the snuffers, the sprinkling bowls, incense ladles and the pans, of real gold; and the entrance to theTemple, the inner doors (for the Holy of Holies) and the doors of the Temple itself, that is of the Hekal, were alsomade of gold.22 los cuchillos, acetres, bandejas y badiles, de oro acendrado.
