1 Chronicles 21

NEW JERUSALEM	Biblija Hrvatski
1 Satan took his stand against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel.	1 Tada Satan ustade na Izraela i potače Davida da izbroji Izraelce.
2 David said to Joab and the people's princes, 'Go, and take a census of Israel, from Beersheba to Dan,then bring it back to me and let me know the total.'	2 Kralj reče Joabu i narodnim knezovima: »Idite, izbrojte Izraelce od Beer Šebe pa do Dana, onda se vratite i kažite mi koliko ih je na broju.«
3 Joab replied, 'May Yahweh multiply his people to a hundred times what they are today! But my lordking, are they not all my lord's servants in any case? Why should my lord insist on this? Why should he involveIsrael in guilt?'	3 Joab reče: »Neka Jahve dade svome narodu još sto puta ovoliko koliko ga je sada! Nisu li, moj gospodaru kralju, svi oni sluge mome gospodaru? Zašto traži to moj gospodar? Zašto da bude na krivicu Izraelu?«
4 But the king enforced his order on Joab, and Joab set out, travelled throughout al Israel, and thenreturned to Jerusalem.	4 Ali kraljeva riječ bijaše jača od Joabove. Tako je Joab otišao i počeo obilaziti sav Izrael, a onda se, najposlije, vrati u Jeruzalem.
5 Joab gave David the census results for the people: al Israel had eleven hundred thousand men whocould wield a sword; Judah had four hundred and seventy thousand men who could wield a sword.	5 Joab dade Davidu popis naroda; Izraelaca bijaše milijun i sto tisuća ljudi vičnih maču, a Judejaca četiri stotine i sedamdeset tisuća vičnih maču.
6 Joab had found the king's command so distasteful that he did not include Levi and Benjamin.	6 Ali nije pobrojio među njima ni Levijeva ni Benjaminova plemena, jer je Joabu bila odvratna kraljeva zapovijed.
7 God looked with displeasure on this and punished Israel in consequence.	7 Bilo je to mrsko i u Božjim očima, pa Bog udari Izraela.
8 David then said to God, 'I have committed a grave sin by doing this. But now I beg you to forgive yourservant for this fault, for I have acted very foolishly.'	8 David reče Bogu: »Veoma sam sagriješio što sam to učinio. Ali oprosti krivicu svome sluzi jer sam vrlo ludo radio!«
9 Yahweh then spoke to Gad, David's seer,	9 Jahve reče Davidovu vidiocu Gadu:
10 'Go and say to David, "Yahweh says this: I offer you three things; choose which one of them I am toinflict on you." '	10 »Idi i kaži Davidu: Ovako veli Jahve: ‘Troje stavljam preda te; izaberi sebi jedno od toga da ti učinim!’«
11 So Gad went to David and said, 'Yahweh says this,	11 Došavši k Davidu, Gad mu reče: »Ovako veli Jahve: ‘Biraj sebi
12 "Take your choice between three years of famine; or three months of disaster at the hands of yourenemies, with your enemies' sword overtaking you; or three days of Yahweh's sword, an epidemic in the country,while the angel of Yahweh wreaks havoc throughout the territory of Israel." Now decide how I am to answer himwho sends me.'	12 ili glad za tri godine, ili da tri mjeseca bježiš pred neprijateljima i mač tvojih neprijatelja da te stiže, ili da tri dana Jahvin mač i kuga bude na zemlji i Jahvin anđeo da ubija po svim izraelskim krajevima.’ Sada promisli i gledaj što da odgovorim onome koji me poslao!«
13 David said to Gad, 'I am very apprehensive. Better for me to fal into Yahweh's hand, since hismercies are very great, than for me to fal into the hands of human enemies.'	13 David reče Gadu: »Na velikoj sam muci! Ah, neka padnem u Jahvine ruke, jer je veliko njegovo milosrđe, a u ljudske ruke da ne zapadnem!«
14 So Yahweh unleashed an epidemic on Israel, and seventy thousand Israelites succumbed.	14 Tako je Jahve poslao kugu na Izraela te pomrije sedamdeset tisuća Izraelaca.
15 Next, God sent the angel to Jerusalem to destroy it, but as he was about to destroy it, Yahwehlooked down and felt sorry about the calamity; and he said to the destroying angel, 'Enough now! Hold yourhand!' The angel of Yahweh was standing by the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.	15 Bog je poslao anđela na Jeruzalem da ga istrebljuje; a kad je počeo istrebljivati, pogledao je Jahve i sažalilo mu se zbog zla, pa je rekao anđelu zatorniku: »Dosta je sada, spusti ruku!« Jahvin je anđeo stajao kraj gumna Jebusejca Ornana.
16 David, raising his eyes, saw the angel of Yahweh standing between earth and heaven, a drawnsword in his hand stretched out towards Jerusalem. David and the elders then put on sackcloth and fel on theirfaces,	16 David, podigavši oči, vidje Jahvina anđela kako stoji između zemlje i neba držeći u ruci isukan mač koji je podigao na Jeruzalem, i on pade ničice sa starješinama obučenim u kostrijet.
17 and David said to God, 'Did I not order the people to be counted? I was the one who sinned andactual y committed the wrong. But these, the flock, what have they done? Yahweh my God, let your hand lieheavy on me and on my family; but spare your people from the plague!'	17 David reče Bogu: »Nisam li ja zapovjedio da se izbroji narod? Ja sam, dakle, onaj koji sam sagriješio i grdno zlo načinio, a što učiniše te ovce? Jahve, Bože moj, neka tvoja ruka dođe na me i na moju obitelj, a ne na taj narod da ga pomori!«
18 The angel of Yahweh then ordered Gad to tel David that David should go up and erect an altar toYahweh on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.	18 Tada Jahvin anđeo reče Gadu da kaže Davidu neka uziđe i neka podigne žrtvenik Jahvi na gumnu Jebusejca Ornana.
19 So, at Gad's bidding, given in Yahweh's name, David went up.	19 David je otišao po riječi koju mu je Gad rekao u Jahvino ime.
20 Ornan had turned round and seen the angel, and he and his four sons with him had hidden.	20 A Ornan, okrenuvši se, opazi anđela, a njegova se četiri sina sakriše. Ornan je vrhao pšenicu.
21 When David arrived Ornan was threshing wheat. He looked up and saw David and came off thethreshing-floor and prostrated himself on the ground at David's feet.	21 Uto dođe David do Ornana, a on, pogledavši i opazivši Davida, dođe s gumna i pokloni se Davidu licem do zemlje.
22 David then said to Ornan, 'Let me have the site of the threshing-floor, so that I can build an altar toYahweh on it; let me have it at the ful price -- so that the plague may be lifted from the people.' Ornan said toDavid,	22 Tada David reče Ornanu: »Daj mi to gumno da sagradim na njemu žrtvenik Jahvi; za potpunu cijenu daj mi ga da bi prestao pomor u narodu!«
23 'Take it, and let my lord the king do what he thinks fit. Look, I shal give you the oxen for burntofferings, the threshing-sleds for the wood and the wheat for the oblation. I shal give everything.'	23 Ornan odgovori Davidu: »Neka ga uzme i neka čini moj gospodar kralj što je dobro u njegovim očima; evo, dajem ti goveda za paljenice, i mlatilice za drva, i pšenicu za prinosnicu; sve ti to poklanjam.«
24 'No,' said King David to Ornan, 'I insist on buying it at the ful price. I wil not offer Yahweh whatbelongs to you or bring burnt offerings which have cost me nothing.'	24 Kralj David reče Ornanu: »Ne, nego hoću da kupim u tebe i da platim, jer neću da prinosim Jahvi što je tvoje, da prinosim paljenice koje su mi poklonjene.«
25 So David gave Ornan six hundred shekels of gold by weight for the site.	25 I David dade Ornanu za ono mjesto šest stotina zlatnih šekela na mjeru.
26 There David built an altar to Yahweh and brought burnt offerings and peace offerings. He called onYahweh, and Yahweh answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of burnt offering.	26 Tada sagradi ondje žrtvenik Jahvi i prinese paljenice i pričesnice; a kad je prizvao Jahvu, on ga usliša spustivši oganj s neba na žrtvenik za paljenice.
27 Then Yahweh ordered the angel to sheathe his sword.	27 Jahve zapovjedi anđelu da vrati mač u korice.
28 Whereupon, seeing that Yahweh had answered him on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite,David offered sacrifice there.	28 U ono vrijeme, vidjevši da ga je Jahve uslišio na gumnu Jebusejca Ornana, David poče prinositi žrtve ondje.
29 The Dwel ing which Moses had made in the desert and the altar of burnt offering were at that time onthe high place at Gibeon,	29 Jahvino prebivalište, koje je napravio Mojsije u pustinji, i žrtvenik za paljenice bio je u to vrijeme na uzvisini u Gibeonu.
30 but David could not go there to consult God because he was terrified of the angel's sword.	30 David nije mogao ići k njemu da traži Boga jer ga je bio spopao strah od mača Jahvina anđela.
