1 "When men have a dispute and bring it to court, and a decision is handed down to them acquitting the innocent party and condemning the guilty party,	1 Se se mover pleito entre alguns, e houver recurso para os juízes estes darão a palma da justiça ao que reconhecerem que é justo, e condenarão de impiedade o (que reconhecerem que é) ímpio.
2 if the latter deserves stripes, the judge shall have him lie down and in his presence receive the number of stripes his guilt deserves.	2 Se virem que aquele que pecou merece açoutes, fá-lo-ão deitar por terra, e o farão açoutar na sua presença. O número de golpes será segundo a medida do pecado,
3 Forty stripes may be given him, but no more; lest, if he were beaten with more stripes than these, your kinsman should be looked upon as disgraced because of the severity of the beating.	3 contanto todavia que não ultrapassem o número de quarenta, para que teu irmão se não retire aviltado de diante de teus olhos.
4 "You shall not muzzle an ox when it is treading out grain.	4 Não atarás a boca ao boi que debulha na eira o grão das tuas colheitas.
5 "When brothers live together and one of them dies without a son, the widow of the deceased shall not marry anyone outside the family; but her husband's brother shall go to her and perform the duty of a brother-in-law by marrying her.	5 Quando morarem irmãos juntamente, e um deles morrer sem filhos, a mulher do defunto não casará com um estranho, mas o irmão do defunto a receberá, e suscitará descendência a seu irmão;
6 The first-born son she bears shall continue the line of the deceased brother, that his name may not be blotted out from Israel.	6 ao filho primogênito que tiver dela porá o nome do seu irmão, para que o nome deste não se extinga em Israel.
7 If, however, a man does not care to marry his brother's wife, she shall go up to the elders at the gate and declare, 'My brother-in-law does not intend to perform his duty toward me and refuses to perpetuate his brother's name in Israel.'	7 Porém se ele não quiser receber a mulher do seu irmão, a qual lhe é devida segundo a lei, irá esta mulher à porta da cidade, recorrerá aos anciães e lhes dirá: O irmão de meu marido não quer fazer reviver o nome de seu irmão em Israel, não quer receber-me por mulher.
8 Thereupon the elders of his city shall summon him and admonish him. If he persists in saying, 'I am not willing to marry her,'	8 Eles o farão logo comparecer e o interrogarão. Se responder: Eu não a quero receber por mulher —
9 his sister-in-law, in the presence of the elders, shall go up to him and strip his sandal from his foot and spit in his face, saying publicly, 'This is how one should be treated who will not build up his brother's family!'	9 a mulher se aproximará dele diante dos anciães, tirar-Ihe-á o sapato do pé, cuspir-lhe-á na cara e dirá: Assim será feito ao homem que não edifica a casa de seu irmão.
10 And his lineage shall be spoken of in Israel as 'the family of the man stripped of his sandal.'	10 A casa de tal homem será chamada em Israel a casa de descalçado.
11 "When two men are fighting and the wife of one intervenes to save her husband from the blows of his opponent, if she stretches out her hand and seizes the latter by his private parts,	11 Quando se levantar alguma pendência entre dois homens, e um começar a renhir contra o outro, se a mulher de um, querendo livrar seu marido da mão do que o agride, estender a mão e lhe pegar pelas partes vergonhosas,
12 you shall chop off her hand without pity.	12 cortar-Ihe-ás a mão; não te moverás de compaixão alguma por ela.
13 "You shall not keep two differing weights in your bag, one large and the other small;	13 Não terás no saco pesos diversos, maior e menor;
14 nor shall you keep two different measures in your house, one large and the other small.	14 nem haverá em tua casa dois efas, um maior e outro mais pequeno.
15 But use a true and just weight, and a true and just measure, that you may have a long life on the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you.	15 Terás um peso justo e verdadeiro, terás um efa justo e verdadeiro, a fim de que vivas muito tempo na terra que o Senhor teu Deus te der.
16 Everyone who is dishonest in any of these matters is an abomination to the LORD, your God.	16 Com efeito, o Senhor teu Deus abomina quem faz estas coisas, quem comete uma injustiça.
17 "Bear in mind what Amalek did to you on the journey after you left Egypt,	17 Lembra-te do que te fez Amalec no caminho, quando saíste do Egipto,
18 how without fear of any god he harassed you along the way, weak and weary as you were, and cut off at the rear all those who lagged behind.	18 de como ele, sem temor algum de Deus, te saiu ao encontro e matou os últimos do teu exército, que cansados ficavam atrás, quando tu estavas consumido de fome e de fadiga.
19 Therefore, when the LORD, your God, gives you rest from all your enemies round about in the land which he is giving you to occupy as your heritage, you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under the heavens. Do not forget!	19 Quando, pois, o Senhor teu Deus te tiver dado descanso, e tiver sujeitado todas as nações circunvizinhas na terra, que te prometeu, apagarás o seu nome de debaixo do céu. Olha, não o esqueças.
