Micah 5

1 But you, Bethlehem-Ephrathah too small to be among the clans of Judah, From you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel; Whose origin is from of old, from ancient times.	1 Agora junta as tropas, ó filha de guerreiros! Sitiar-nos-ão, ferirão com a vara a face do juiz (ou rei) de Israel.
2 (Therefore the Lord will give them up, until the time when she who is to give birth has borne, And the rest of his brethren shall return to the children of Israel.)	2 Mas tu, Belém (chamada) Efrata, (apesar de seres) a mais pequenina entre os milhares de Judá, de ti é que me há-de sair (o Messias) aquele que há-de reinar em Israel, cujas origens remontam aos tempos antigos, aos dias do longínquo passado.
3 He shall stand firm and shepherd his flock by the strength of the LORD, in the majestic name of the LORD, his God; And they shall remain, for now his greatness shall reach to the ends of the earth;	3 Por isso Deus os abandonará, até ao tempo em que der à luz, aquela que há-de dar à luz (o Dominador), e em que as relíquias dos seus irmãos se juntarão aos filhos de Israel.
4 he shall be peace. If Assyria invades our country and treads upon our land, We shall raise against it seven shepherds, eight men of royal rank;	4 Ele permanecerá firme e apascentará o seu rebanho com a fortaleza do Senhor, com a majestade do nome do Senhor seu Deus; haverá segurança porque agora será exaltado até às extremidades da terra.
5 And they shall tend the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod with the drawn sword; And we shall be delivered from Assyria, if it invades our land and treads upon our borders.	5 Assim será a paz: quando o Assírio vier à nossa terra e calcar os nossos palácios suscitaremos contra ele sete pastores e oito (ou muitos) príncipes.
6 The remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples, Like dew coming from the LORD, like raindrops on the grass, Which wait for no man, nor tarry for the sons of men.	6 Apascentarão com a espada a terra de Assur, e com as suas lanças a terra de Nemrod; ele nos livrará de Assur, quando (Assur) vier A nossa terra e puser os pés sobre o nosso território.
7 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, Like a lion among beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep; When it passes through, it tramples and tears, and there is none to deliver.	7 Então os restos de Jacob estarão no meio de muitos povos, como um orvalho que vem do Senhor, como gotas de água que caem sobre as ervas, que nada têm a esperar do homem e que não contam com nada dos filhos dos homens.
8 Your hand shall be lifted above your foes, and all your enemies shall be destroyed.	8 Os restos de Jacob estarão entre as nações, no melo de muitos povos, como um leão no meio dos outros animais dos bosques, como um cachorro de leão entre os rebanhos de ovelhas, o qual, quando passa, pisa aos pés e despedaça (a sua presa) sem haver quem lha tire (das garras).
9 On that day, says the LORD, I will destroy the horses from your midst and ruin your chariots;	9 A tua mão se levantará sobre os teus inimigos, e todos os teus inimigos perecerão.
10 I will demolish the cities of your land and tear down all your fortresses.	10 Naquele dia, diz o Senhor, tirarei os teus cavalos do meio de ti e destroçarei os teus carros de guerra.
11 I will abolish the means of divination from your use, and there shall no longer be soothsayers among you.	11 Arruinarei as cidades da tua terra, destruirei todas as tuas fortificações, arrancar-te-ei das mãos os teus sortilégios, e não haverá mais adivinhos em ti;
12 I will abolish your carved images and the sacred pillars from your midst; And you shall no longer adore the works of your hands.	12 exterminarei do meio de ti os teus ídolos e as tuas estelas, e nunca mais adorarás as obras das tuas mãos.
13 I will tear out the sacred poles from your midst, and destroy your cities.	13 Arrancarei os teus ascherás do meio de ti e reduzirei a pó as tuas cidades.
14 I will wreak vengeance in anger and wrath upon the nations that have not hearkened.	14 Tomarei, com furor e indignação, vingança de todas as nações que (me) não ouviram.
