1 The LORD said to Aaron, "You and your sons as well as the other members of your ancestral house shall be responsible for the sanctuary; but the responsibility of the priesthood shall rest on you and your sons alone.	1 Jahvè disse ad Aronne: «Tu, i tuoi figli e la casa di tuo padre toglierete le colpe del santuario, tu e i tuoi figli toglierete le colpe del vostro sacerdozio.
2 Bring with you also your other kinsmen of the tribe of Levi, your ancestral tribe, as your associates and assistants, while you and your sons are in front of the tent of the commandments.	2 Con te fai avvicinare anche i tuoi fratelli della tribù di Levi, della tribù di tuo padre. Essi si uniscano a te e ti siano ministri, quando tu e i tuoi figli siete davanti alla Tenda della Testimonianza.
3 They shall look after your persons and the whole tent; however, they shall not come near the sacred vessels or the altar, lest both they and you die.	3 Essi avranno cura di quanto ti occorre e del servizio di tutta la Tenda. Non devono però avvicinarsi alle suppellettili del santuario e all’altare: così né essi né voi morirete.
4 As your associates they shall have charge of all the work connected with the meeting tent. But no layman shall come near you.	4 Essi si uniranno a te, avranno cura del servizio della Tenda del convegno e di tutto il culto della Tenda: nessun estraneo si avvicinerà a voi.
5 You shall have charge of the sanctuary and of the altar, that wrath may not fall again upon the Israelites.	5 Voi avrete cura del santuario e avrete cura dell’altare: così non ci sarà più collera contro i figli di Israele.
6 "Remember, it is I who have taken your kinsmen, the Levites, from the body of the Israelites; they are a gift to you, dedicated to the LORD for the service of the meeting tent.	6 lo ho preso tra i figli di Israele i vostri fratelli, i Leviti: essi sono un dono per voi, sono donati a Jahvè affinché compiano il servizio della Tenda del convegno.
7 But only you and your sons are to have charge of performing the priestly functions in whatever concerns the altar and the room within the veil. I give you the priesthood as a gift. Any layman who draws near shall be put to death."	7 Ma tu e i tuoi figli custodirete il vostro sacerdozio per ogni cosa che riguarda l’altare e per la parte che è all’interno del velo. Vi affido l’esercizio del sacerdozio come un dono: sarà messo a morte ogni estraneo che si avvicini».
8 The LORD said to Aaron, "I myself have given you charge of the contributions made to me in the various sacred offerings of the Israelites; by perpetual ordinance I have assigned them to you and to your sons as your priestly share.	8 Jahvè disse ad Aronne: «Io ti ho dato quanto rimane dei contributi dati a me. Do a te e ai tuoi figli tutti i doni sacri dei figli di Israele come parte destinata agli unti: è un diritto perpetuo.
9 You shall have the right to share in the oblations that are most sacred, in whatever they offer me as cereal offerings or sin offerings or guilt offerings; these shares shall accrue to you and to your sons.	9 Dei doni santissimi, dei sacrifici di fuoco, ecco quanto sarà tuo: sarà tua e dei tuoi figli ogni loro offerta per ogni loro oblazione, per ogni sacrificio espiatorio e per ogni sacrificio di riparazione, con cui mi restituiscono i doni santissimi.
10 In eating them you shall treat them as most sacred; every male among you may partake of them. As sacred, they belong to you.	10 Mangerete i doni santissimi. Ogni maschio ne potrà mangiare. Li considererai cose sante.
11 "You shall also have what is removed from the gift in every wave offering of the Israelites; by perpetual ordinance I have assigned it to you and to your sons and daughters. All in your family who are clean may partake of it.	11 Questo pure sarà tuo: do a te e, con te, ai tuoi figli e alle tue figlie quanto è prelevato dai loro doni per ogni offerta di agitazione dei figli di Israele. È un diritto perpetuo. Ogni persona pura della tua famiglia ne potrà mangiare.
12 I have also assigned to you all the best of the new oil and of the new wine and grain that they give to the LORD as their first fruits;	12 Do a te il meglio dell’olio nuovo, del mosto e del grano, le primizie cioè che essi offrono a Jahvè.
13 and likewise, of whatever grows on their land, the first products that they bring in to the LORD shall be yours; all of your family who are clean may partake of them.	13 Saranno tue le primizie della loro terra, che essi portano a Jahvè. Ogni persona pura della tua famiglia ne potrà mangiare.
14 Whatever is doomed in Israel shall be yours.	14 In Israele Ogni cosa votata all’anatema sarà tua.
15 Every living thing that opens the womb, whether of man or of beast, such as are to be offered to the LORD, shall be yours; but you must let the first-born of man, as well as of unclean animals, be redeemed.	15 Di ogni carne di uomo o di animale, tutti coloro che aprono l’utero, quelli cioè che essi offrono a Jahvè, saranno tuoi. Però devi far riscattare il primogenito dell’uomo e il primo nato di un animale impuro.
16 The ransom for a boy is to be paid when he is a month old; it is fixed at five silver shekels according to the sanctuary standard, twenty gerahs to the shekel.	16 Lo farai riscattare nel mese della nascita, secondo la stima di cinque sicli d’argento, in base al siclo del santuario che è di venti ghera.
17 But the first-born of cattle, sheep or goats shall not be redeemed; they are sacred. Their blood you must splash on the altar and their fat you must burn as a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.	17 Ma non lascerai riscattare il primogenito della vacca, della pecora, della capra: essi sono sacri. Spargerai sull’altare il loro sangue e manderai il loro grasso in fumo come sacrificio ‘di fuoco dal profumo soave per Jahvè;
18 Their meat, however, shall be yours, just as the breast and the right leg of the wave offering belong to you.	18 tua sarà la loro carne, come tuoi sono il petto dell’offerta dell’agitazione e la coscia destra.
19 By perpetual ordinance I have assigned to you and to your sons and daughters all the contributions from the sacred gifts which the Israelites make to the LORD; this is an inviolable covenant to last forever before the LORD, for you and for your descendants."	19 Io do a te e, con te, ai tuoi figli e alle tue figlie tutti i contributi che i figli di Israele prelevano per Jahvè sui doni sacri. È un diritto perpetuo. Al cospetto di Jahvè, è un’alleanza di sale eterna per te e con te, per la tua discendenza».
20 Then the LORD said to Aaron, "You shall not have any heritage in the land of the Israelites nor hold any portion among them; I will be your portion and your heritage among them.	20 Jahvè disse ad Aronne: «Nella loro terra non erediterai né per te ci sarà parte alcuna in mezzo a loro: sono io la tua parte e la tua eredità in mezzo ai figli di Israele.
21 "To the Levites, however, I hereby assign all tithes in Israel as their heritage in recompense for the service they perform in the meeting tent.	21 Ma ai figli di Levi do in eredità tutte le decime di Israele in cambio dei loro servizi, del servizio che essi compiono per la Tenda del convegno.
22 The Israelites may no longer approach the meeting tent; else they will incur guilt deserving death.	22 I figli di Israele non si avvicineranno più alla Tenda del convegno per caricarsi di un peccato e morire.
23 Only the Levites are to perform the service of the meeting tent, and they alone shall be held responsible; this is a perpetual ordinance for all your generations. The Levites, therefore, shall not have any heritage among the Israelites,	23 Levi compirà il servizio della Tenda del convegno: i Leviti toglieranno le loro colpe. È uno statuto perpetuo per le vostre generazioni: i Leviti non avranno alcuna eredità in mezzo ai figli di Israele.
24 for I have assigned to them as their heritage the tithes which the Israelites give as a contribution to the LORD. That is why I have ordered that they are not to have any heritage among the Israelites."	24 Poiché io do in eredità ai Leviti la decima dei figli di Israele, che prelevano come contributo per Jahvè. Per questo ho detto loro: “Non avranno nessuna eredità in mezzo ai figli di Israele”».
25 The LORD said to Moses,	25 Jahvè si rivolse a Mosè:
26 "Give the Levites these instructions: When you receive from the Israelites the tithes I have assigned you from them as your heritage, you are to make a contribution from them to the LORD, a tithe of the tithes;	26 «Parlerai ai Leviti e dirai loro: “Quando dai figli di Israele prenderete la decima che vi ho dato in vostra eredità, da essa preleverete un contributo per Jahvè: cioè una decima della decima.
27 and your contribution will be credited to you as if it were grain from the threshing floor or new wine from the press.	27 Essa vi sarà considerata come un vostro contributo, come il grano preso dall’aia e come il mosto preso dal torchio.
28 Thus you too shall make a contribution from all the tithes you receive from the Israelites, handing over to Aaron the priest the part to be contributed to the LORD.	28 Così anche voi preleverete un contributo per Jahvè da tutte le decime che prenderete dai figli di Israele, darete al sacerdote Aronne il vostro contributo per Jahvè.
29 From all the gifts that you receive, and from the best parts, you are to consecrate to the LORD your own full contribution.	29 Da tutti i doni che riceverete, preleverete un contributo per Jahvè: prenderete la parte da consacrare dal meglio d tutte le cose”.
30 "Tell them also: Once you have made your contribution from the best part, the rest of the tithes will be credited to you Levites as if it were produce of the threshing floor or of the winepress.	30 Dirai loro: “Dopo averne prelevato il meglio, quanto rimane sarà considerato per i Leviti come il provento dell’aia e come il provento del torchio.
31 Your families, as well as you, may eat them anywhere, since they are your recompense for service at the meeting tent.	31 Voi e la vostra famiglia potrete mangiarlo in qualsiasi luogo: è infatti la vostra Mercede in cambio del vostro servizio per la Tenda del convegno.
32 You will incur no guilt so long as you make a contribution of the best part. Do not profane the sacred gifts of the Israelites and so bring death on yourselves."	32 Dopo averne prelevato il meglio, non dovrete scontare nessun peccato; non profanerete i doni sacri dei figli di Israele e non morirete”».
