The LORD said to Moses,1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
"Give the Israelites these instructions: When you have entered the land that I will give you for your homesteads,2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have arrived in the country where you are to live andwhich I am giving to you,
if you make to the LORD a sweet-smelling oblation from the herd or from the flock, in holocaust, in fulfillment of a vow, or as a freewill offering, or for one of your festivals,3 and you burn food as an offering to Yahweh either as a burnt offering or as a sacrifice, whether inpayment of a vow, or as a voluntary gift, or on the occasion of one of your solemn feasts, from your herds andflocks as a smel pleasing to Yahweh:
whoever does so shall also present to the LORD a cereal offering consisting of a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a fourth of a hin of oil,4 the offerer wil , as his personal gift to Yahweh, bring a cereal offering of one-tenth of an ephah of fineflour mixed with one-quarter of a hin of oil.
as well as a libation of a fourth of a hin of wine, with each lamb sacrificed in holocaust or otherwise.5 You will also make a libation of wine, one-quarter of a hin to each lamb, in addition to the burntoffering or sacrifice.
With each sacrifice of a ram you shall present a cereal offering of two tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a third of a hin of oil,6 For a ram, you will make a cereal offering of two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with one-thirdof a hin of oil,
and a libation of a third of a hin of wine, thus making a sweet-smelling offering to the LORD.7 and a libation of one-third of a hin of wine as a smel pleasing to Yahweh.
When you sacrifice an ox as a holocaust, or in fulfillment of a vow, or as a peace offering to the LORD,8 If you offer a bul as a burnt offering or sacrifice, in payment of a vow or as a communion sacrifice forYahweh,
with it you shall present a cereal offering of three tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with half a hin of oil,9 in addition to the animal you wil offer a cereal offering of three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixedwith half a hin of oil,
and a libation of half a hin of wine, as a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.10 and you wil offer a libation of half a hin of wine, as food burnt as a smel pleasing to Yahweh.
The same is to be done for each ox, ram, lamb or goat.11 This wil be done for every bul , every ram, every lamb or kid.
Whatever the number you offer, do the same for each of them.12 Whatever the number of victims you intend to offer, you wil do the same for each of them, howevermany there are.
"All the native-born shall make these offerings in the same way, whenever they present a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD.13 "Every citizen of the country wil act in this way whenever he offers food burnt as a smel pleasing toYahweh;
Likewise, in any future generation, any alien residing with you permanently or for a time, who presents a sweet-smelling oblation to the LORD, shall do as you do.14 and if an alien residing with you or with your descendants intends to offer food burnt as a smelpleasing to Yahweh, he wil do as you do.
There is but one rule for you and for the resident alien, a perpetual rule for all your descendants. Before the LORD you and the alien are alike,15 There wil be one law for you, members of the community, and the resident alien alike, a law bindingyour descendants for ever: before Yahweh you and the resident alien are no different.'
with the same law and the same application of it for the alien residing among you as for yourselves."16 One law, one statute, wil apply for you and the resident alien." '
The LORD said to Moses,17 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
"Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When you enter the land into which I will bring you18 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have entered the country to which I am bringing you,
and begin to eat of the food of that land, you shall offer the LORD a contribution19 you wil set a portion aside for Yahweh when you eat that country's bread.
consisting of a cake of your first batch of dough. You shall offer it just as you offer a contribution from the threshing floor.20 You wil set one cake aside as the first-fruits of your dough; you will set this offering aside like theone set aside from your threshing.
Throughout your generations you shall give a contribution to the LORD from your first batch of dough.21 For al future generations you will set a portion of your dough aside for Yahweh.
"When through inadvertence you fail to carry out any of these commandments which the LORD gives to Moses,22 "If through inadvertence you fail in any of these orders which Yahweh has given to Moses
and through Moses to you, from the time the LORD first issues the commandment down through your generations:23 (whatever orders Yahweh has given you or your descendants through Moses, from the day whenYahweh gave his orders),
if the community itself unwittingly becomes guilty of the fault of inadvertence, the whole community shall offer the holocaust of one young bull as a sweet-smelling oblation pleasing to the LORD, along with its prescribed cereal offering and libation, as well as one he-goat as a sin offering.24 this is what must be done: "If it is an inadvertence on the part of the community, the community as awhole wil offer a young bull as a burnt offering, as a smell pleasing to Yahweh, with the prescribedaccompanying cereal offering and libation, and a he-goat as a sacrifice for sin.
Then the priest shall make atonement for the whole Israelite community; thus they will be forgiven the inadvertence for which they have brought their holocaust as an oblation to the LORD.25 The priest wil perform the rite of expiation for the entire community of Israelites, and they wil beforgiven, since it was an inadvertence. Once they have brought their offering as food burnt for Yahweh, and havepresented their sacrifice for sin before Yahweh to make amends for their inadvertence,
Not only the whole Israelite community, but also the aliens residing among you, shall be forgiven, since the fault of inadvertence affects all the people.26 the whole community of Israelites wil be forgiven, as also the alien residing with them, since theentire people acted by inadvertence.
"However, if it is an individual who sins inadvertently, he shall bring a yearling she-goat as a sin offering,27 "If it is an individual who has sinned by inadvertence, he wil offer a yearling kid as a sacrifice for sin.
and the priest shall make atonement before the LORD for him who sinned inadvertently; when atonement has been made for him, he will be forgiven.28 The priest wil perform the rite of expiation before Yahweh for the person who has gone astray owingto this sin of inadvertence and, expiation having been made for him, he will be forgiven;
You shall have but one law for him who sins inadvertently, whether he be a native Israelite or an alien residing with you.29 whether he is an Israelite citizen or a resident alien, you wil have one law for anyone who sins byinadvertence.
"But anyone who sins defiantly, whether he be a native or an alien, insults the LORD, and shall be cut off from among his people.30 "But the individual who acts deliberately, be he citizen or alien, commits an outrage against Yahweh, and such a man wil be outlawed from his people.
Since he has despised the word of the LORD and has broken his commandment, he must be cut off. He has only himself to blame."31 Since he has treated Yahweh's word with contempt and has disobeyed his order, such a man wil beoutlawed absolutely and wil bear the consequences of his guilt." '
While the Israelites were in the desert, a man was discovered gathering wood on the sabbath day.32 While the Israelites were in the desert, a man was caught gathering wood on the Sabbath day.
Those who caught him at it brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly.33 Those who caught him gathering wood brought him before Moses, Aaron and the whole community.
But they kept him in custody, for there was no clear decision as to what should be done with him.34 He was kept in custody, because the penalty he should undergo had not yet been fixed.
Then the LORD said to Moses, "This man shall be put to death; let the whole community stone him outside the camp."35 Yahweh said to Moses, 'This man must be put to death. The whole community will stone him outsidethe camp.'
So the whole community led him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the LORD had commanded Moses.36 The whole community took him outside the camp and stoned him til he was dead, as Yahweh hadordered Moses.
The LORD said to Moses,37 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,
"Speak to the Israelites and tell them that they and their descendants must put tassels on the corners of their garments, fastening each corner tassel with a violet cord.38 'Speak to the Israelites and tell them, for all generations to come, to put tassels on the hems of theirclothes and work a violet thread into the tassel at the hem.
When you use these tassels, let the sight of them remind you to keep all the commandments of the LORD, without going wantonly astray after the desires of your hearts and eyes.39 You wil thus have a tassel, and the sight of it wil remind you of al Yahweh's orders and how youare to put them into practice, and not follow the dictates of your own heart and eyes, which have led you to beunfaithful.
Thus you will remember to keep all my commandments and be holy to your God.40 'This wil remind you of all my orders; put them into practice, and you wil be consecrated to yourGod.
I, the LORD, am your God who, as God, brought you out of Egypt that I, the LORD, may be your God."41 I, Yahweh your God, have brought you out of Egypt, to be your God, I, Yahweh your God.'
