1 As for you, son of man, take a sharp sword and use it like a barber's razor, passing it over your head and beard. Then take a set of scales and divide the hair you have cut.	1 Prends donc une lame tranchante, fils d’homme, affûte-la comme un rasoir de barbier et fais-la passer sur ta tête et sur ta barbe. Ensuite, prends une balance et partage les poils que tu auras coupés.
2 Burn a third in the fire, within the city, when the days of your siege are completed; place another third around the city and strike it with the sword; the final third strew in the wind, and pursue it with the sword.	2 Tu en brûleras un tiers au milieu de la ville assiégée. Tu prendras un autre tiers que tu frapperas de l’épée autour de la ville, et tu jetteras au vent le dernier tiers; moi, je lâcherai l’épée derrière eux.
3 (But of the last take a small number and tie them in the hem of your garment.	3 Tu en mettras de côté quelques-uns que tu cacheras dans les plis de ton manteau;
4 Then take some of these and throw them in the midst of the fire and burn them.) Say to the whole house of Israel:	4 de ceux-là tu en prendras encore pour les jeter au feu et les brûler. Alors tu diras à toute la maison d’Israël:
5 Thus says the Lord GOD: This is Jerusalem! In the midst of the nations I placed her, surrounded by foreign countries.	5 “Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Vous avez là Jérusalem! Je l’avais placée au milieu des nations, les pays étrangers restaient sur les bords.
6 But she rebelled against my ordinances more wickedly than the nations, and against my statutes more than the foreign countries surrounding her; she has spurned my ordinances and has not lived by my statutes.	6 Mais dans sa méchanceté, elle a rejeté mes commandements plus que les autres nations, et mes lois plus que les pays qui l’entourent: ces gens ont rejeté mes commandements et n’ont pas marché selon mes lois.
7 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have been more rebellious than the nations surrounding you, not living by my statutes nor fulfilling my ordinances, but acting according to the ordinances of the surrounding nations;	7 C’est pourquoi, voici ce que dit Yahvé: Vous avez été plus rebelles que les nations qui vous entourent, et vous n’avez pas marché selon mes lois; vous n’avez pas observé mes commandements, mais au contraire vous avez agi comme les nations qui vous entourent.
8 therefore thus says the Lord GOD: See, I am coming at you! I will inflict punishments in your midst while the nations look on.	8 À cause de cela Yahvé vous dit: Moi à mon tour je m’en prends à toi; j’accomplirai au milieu de toi sous les yeux des nations ce que j’ai décidé.
9 Because of all your abominations I will do with you what I have never done before, the like of which I will never do again.	9 À cause de tous tes crimes je te ferai ce que je n’ai jamais fait et que je ne ferai jamais plus.
10 This means that fathers within you shall eat sons, and sons shall eat fathers. I will inflict punishments upon you and scatter all that remain of your people in every direction.	10 On verra chez toi des pères manger leurs fils et des fils dévorer leur père. J’accomplirai ce que j’ai décidé contre toi et je disperserai à tous vents ce qui restera de toi.
11 Therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, because you have defiled my sanctuary with all your detestable abominations, I swear to cut you down. I will not look upon you with pity nor have mercy.	11 Je le jure par ma vie, dit Yahvé, parce que tu as souillé mon Sanctuaire avec toutes tes ordures et tes horreurs, moi à mon tour je ferai place nette et mon œil sera sans pitié, je serai sans miséricorde.
12 A third of your people shall die of pestilence and perish of hunger within you; another third shall fall by the sword all around you; and a third I will scatter in every direction, and I will pursue them with the sword.	12 Un tiers de tes habitants mourra par la peste ou sera consumé par la faim dans tes murs; un tiers sera frappé par l’épée tout autour de toi, je disperserai les autres à tous les vents et je lâcherai l’épée derrière eux.
13 Thus shall my anger spend itself, and I will wreak my fury upon them till I am appeased; they shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken in my jealousy when I spend my fury upon them.	13 Ma colère se déchaînera avec fureur et, quand ma colère se déchaînera, ils sauront quelle indignation me faisait parler, moi Yahvé.
14 I will make you a waste and a reproach among the nations that surround you, which every passer-by may see.	14 Je ferai de toi une ruine au milieu des nations qui t’entourent et un objet de moquerie pour tous les passants.
15 When I execute judgment upon you in anger and fury and with furious chastisements, you shall be a reproach and an object of scorn, a terrible warning to the nations that surround you. I, the LORD, have spoken!	15 Tu deviendras un objet de raillerie et de moquerie pour les nations qui t’entourent, lorsque je te corrigerai sans pitié et je te ferai comme je l’ai dit. Moi, Yahvé, j’ai parlé.
16 When I loose against you the cruel, destructive arrows of hunger, I will break your staff of bread;	16 J’enverrai contre vous les flèches redoutables de la faim pour vous exterminer, je vous laisserai sans pain.
17 I will send famine against you, and wild beasts that shall rob you of your children. Pestilence and bloodshed shall stalk through you, and I will bring the sword upon you. I, the LORD, have spoken!	17 J’enverrai contre toi famine et bêtes féroces pour te priver de tes enfants; tu connaîtras la peste et le sang répandu, car je ferai venir l’épée contre toi. Moi, Yahvé, j’ai parlé.
