Ezekiel 39

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Now, son of man, prophesy against Gog in these words: Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.	1 Et toi, fils d'homme, prophétise contre Gog. Tu diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Je medéclare contre toi, Gog, prince, chef de Méshek et de Tubal.
2 I will turn you about, I will urge you on, and I will make you come up from the recesses of the north; I will lead you against the mountains of Israel.	2 Je te ferai faire demi-tour, je te conduirai, je te ferai monter de l'extrême nord et je t'amèneraicontre les montagnes d'Israël.
3 Then I will strike the bow from your left hand, and make the arrows drop from your right.	3 Je briserai ton arc dans ta main gauche et je ferai tomber tes flèches de ta main droite.
4 Upon the mountains of Israel you shall fall, you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you. To birds of prey of every kind and to the wild beasts I am giving you to be eaten.	4 Tu tomberas sur les montagnes d'Israël, toi, toutes tes troupes et les peuples qui sont avec toi. Je tedonne en pâture aux oiseaux de proie de toute espèce et aux bêtes sauvages:
5 On the open field you shall fall, for I have decreed it, says the Lord GOD.	5 Tu tomberas en plein champ, car moi, j'ai parlé, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé.
6 I will send fire upon Magog and upon those who live securely in the coastlands; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	6 J'enverrai le feu dans Magog et sur ceux qui habitent des îles, en sécurité, et ils sauront que je suisYahvé.
7 I will make my holy name known among my people Israel; I will no longer allow my holy name to be profaned. Thus the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.	7 Je ferai connaître mon saint nom au milieu de mon peuple Israël, je ne laisserai plus profaner monsaint nom, et les nations sauront que je suis Yahvé, saint en Israël.
8 Yes, it is coming and shall be fulfilled, says the Lord GOD. This is the day I have decreed.	8 Voici que cela vient, c'est fait - oracle du Seigneur Yahvé - c'est le jour que j'ai annoncé.
9 Then shall those who live in the cities of Israel go out and burn weapons: (shields and bucklers,) bows and arrows, clubs and lances; for seven years they shall make fires with them.	9 Alors les habitants des villes d'Israël s'en iront brûler et livrer au feu les armes, écus et boucliers,arcs et flèches, javelots et lances. Ils en feront du feu pendant sept ans.
10 They shall not have to bring in wood from the fields or cut it down in the forests, for they shall make fires with the weapons. Thus they shall plunder those who plundered them and pillage those who pillaged them, says the Lord GOD.	10 On n'ira plus chercher de bois dans la campagne, on n'en coupera plus dans les forêts, car c'estavec les armes qu'on fera du feu. Ils pilleront ceux qui les pillaient, ils prendront du butin à ceux qui leur enprenaient, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé.
11 On that day I will give Gog for his tomb a well-known place in Israel, the Valley of Abarim east of the sea (it is blocked to travelers). Gog shall be buried there with all his horde, and it shall be named "Valley of Hamon-gog."	11 Ce jour-là, je donnerai à Gog pour sa sépulture en Israël un lieu célèbre, la vallée des Oberim, àl'est de la mer, la vallée qui arrête les passants; on y enterrera Gog et toute sa multitude, et on l'appellera: Valléede Hamôn-Gog.
12 To purify the land, the house of Israel shall need seven months to bury them.	12 La maison d'Israël les enterrera afin de purifier le pays pendant sept mois.
13 All the people of the land shall bury them and gain renown for it, when I reveal my glory, says the Lord GOD.	13 Tous les gens du pays travailleront à les enterrer, et cela leur vaudra la renommée au jour où jemanifesterai ma gloire, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé.
14 Men shall be permanently employed to pass through the land burying those who lie unburied, so as to purify the land. For seven months they shall keep searching.	14 On mettra à part des hommes dont la fonction permanente sera de parcourir le pays et d'enterrerceux qui sont restés sur le sol, pour le purifier. Ils entreprendront leur recherche au bout de sept mois.
15 When they pass through, should they see a human bone, let them put up a marker beside it, until others have buried it in the Valley of Hamon-gog.	15 Quand ces gens-là parcourront le pays, si l'un d'eux voit des ossements humains, il dressera àcôté une borne, jusqu'à ce que les fossoyeurs les enterrent dans la vallée de Hamôn-Gog
16 (Also the name of the city shall be Hamonah.) Thus the land shall be purified.	16 (et Hamona est aussi le nom d'une ville), et qu'ils aient purifié le pays.
17 As for you, son of man, says the Lord GOD, say to birds of every kind and to all the wild beasts: Come together, from all sides gather for the slaughter I am about to provide for you, a great slaughter on the mountains of Israel: you shall have flesh to eat and blood to drink.	17 Et toi, fils d'homme, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé. Dis aux oiseaux de toute espèce et à toutesles bêtes sauvages: Rassemblez-vous, venez, réunissez-vous de partout alentour pour le sacrifice que je vousoffre, un grand sacrifice sur les montagnes d'Israël, et vous mangerez de la chair et vous boirez du sang.
18 You shall eat the flesh of warriors and drink the blood of the princes of the land (rams, lambs, and goats, bullocks, fatlings of Bashan, all of them).	18 Vous mangerez la chair des héros, vous boirez le sang des princes de la terre. Ce sont tous desbéliers, des agneaux, des boucs, des taureaux gras du Bashân.
19 From the slaughter which I will provide for you, you shall eat fat until you are filled and drink blood until you are drunk.	19 Vous mangerez de la graisse jusqu'à satiété et vous boirez du sang jusqu'à l'ivresse, en cesacrifice que je vous offre.
20 You shall be filled at my table with horses and riders, with warriors and soldiers of every kind, says the Lord GOD.	20 Vous vous rassasierez à ma table, de chevaux et de coursiers, de héros et de tout homme deguerre, oracle du Seigneur Yahvé.
21 Thus I will display my glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see the judgment I have executed and the hand I have laid upon them.	21 Je manifesterai ma gloire aux nations, et toutes les nations verront mon jugement quand jel'exécuterai, et ma main quand je l'abattrai sur elles.
22 From that day forward the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD, their God.	22 Et la maison d'Israël saura que je suis Yahvé son Dieu, à partir de ce jour et désormais.
23 The nations shall know that because of its sins the house of Israel went into exile; for they transgressed against me, and I hid my face from them and handed them over to their foes, so that all of them fell by the sword.	23 Les nations aussi le sauront: c'est pour sa faute envers moi que la maison d'Israël a été exilée,c'est parce qu'elle m'a été infidèle que je lui ai caché ma face, que je l'ai livrée aux mains de ses ennemis et quetous sont tombés par l'épée.
24 According to their uncleanness and their transgressions I dealt with them, hiding my face from them.	24 Je les ai traités comme le méritaient leurs souillures et leurs transgressions, et je leur ai caché maface.
25 Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have pity on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for my holy name.	25 C'est pourquoi, ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé: Maintenant, je vais ramener les captifs de Jacob,je vais prendre en pitié toute la maison d'Israël, et je me montrerai jaloux de mon saint nom.
26 They shall forget their disgrace and all the times they broke faith with me, when they live in security on their land with no one to frighten them.	26 Ils oublieront leur déshonneur et toutes les infidélités qu'ils ont commises envers moi, quand ilshabitaient dans leur pays en sécurité, sans que personne les inquiète.
27 When I bring them back from among the peoples, I will gather them from the lands of their enemies, and will prove my holiness through them in the sight of many nations.	27 Quand je les ramènerai d'entre les peuples et que je les rassemblerai des pays de leurs ennemis,quand je manifesterai ma sainteté en eux aux yeux des nations nombreuses,
28 Thus they shall know that I, the LORD, am their God, since I who exiled them among the nations, will gather them back on their land, not leaving any of them behind.	28 ils sauront que je suis Yahvé leur Dieu - quand je les aurai emmenés captifs parmi les nations etque je les réunirai sur leur sol, sans laisser aucun d'eux là-bas.
29 No longer will I hide my face from them, for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, says the Lord GOD.	29 Et je ne leur cacherai plus ma face, car je répandrai mon Esprit sur la maison d'Israël, oracle duSeigneur Yahvé.
