1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 - E il Signore mi comunicò la sua parola dicendo:
2 Son of man, turn toward Gog (the land of Magog), the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him:	2 «Figlio dell'uomo, volgi la tua faccia contro Gog, verso la terra di Magog, principe in capo di Mosoc e Tubal,
3 Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.	3 e profetizza su di esso e gli dirai: - Così dice il Signore Dio: Eccomi a te, Gog, principe in capo di Mosoc e Tubal,
4 I will lead you forth with all your army, horses and riders all handsomely outfitted, a great horde with bucklers and shields, all of them carrying swords:	4 io ti aggirerò e ti metterò il freno alle mascelle e ti sospingerò con tutto il tuo esercito, cavalli e cavalieri coperti di corazze, una moltitudine stragrande, che l'asta, lo scudo maneggiano ed il brando.
5 Persia, Cush, and Put with them (all with shields and helmets),	5 Persiani, Etiopi e Libi le vanno insieme, tutti muniti di scudi e di elmi.
6 Gomer with all its troops, Beth-togarmah from the recesses of the north with all its troops, many peoples with you.	6 Gomer con tutte le sue schiere la casa di Togorma, le plaghe settentrionali e tutta la sua armata e turme di popoli teco.
7 Prepare yourself, be ready, you and all your horde assembled about you, and be at my disposal.	7 Stai pronto e tienti preparato con tutta la gente che s'è raccolta attorno a te e sii loro comandante.
8 After many days you will be mustered (in the last years you will come) against a nation which has survived the sword, which has been assembled from many peoples (on the mountains of Israel which were long a ruin), which has been brought forth from among the peoples and all of whom now dwell in security.	8 Dopo molti giorni sarai visitato, in sugli estremi anni tu verrai alla nazione, che, reduce dalla spada, si è riunita da molti popoli ai monti d'Israele rimasti a lungo deserti; ed essa è rimpatriata d'in fra i popoli, e i suoi vi dimorano tutti in sicurezza.
9 You shall come up like a sudden storm, advancing like a cloud to cover the earth, you and all your troops and the many peoples with you.	9 Tu salirai, come tempesta giungerai e come un nembo per coprire la terra, tu e tutte le tue schiere e popoli infiniti teco -».
10 Thus says the Lord GOD: At that time thoughts shall arise in your mind, and you shall devise an evil scheme:	10 Così dice il Signore Dio: «In quel giorno saliranno al tuo cuore disegni e fermerai un proposito malvagio.
11 "I will go up against a land of open villages and attack the peaceful people who are living in security, all of them living without walls, having neither bars nor gates,	11 E dirai: - Salirò contro una terra sprovveduta di mura; li sorprenderò nella quiete, mentre dimorano sicuri, abitano tutti senza mura, nè sbarre, nè porte essi non hanno. -
12 to plunder and pillage, turning my hand against the ruins that were repeopled and against a people gathered from the nations, a people concerned with cattle and goods, who dwell at the navel of the earth."	12 Verrai per far bottino, per saccheggiare; per metter le mani su di loro, usciti dalle rovine e appena ristabiliti, e sopra un popolo raccolto dalle nazioni che ricominciò a possedere e ad aver abitazione fissa nel centro della terra.
13 Sheba and Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish and all her young lions shall ask you: "Is it for plunder that you have come? Is it for pillage that you have summoned your horde, to carry off silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to seize much plunder?"	13 Saba e Dedan e i mercanti di Tarsis e tutti i suoi leoni ti diranno: - Non sei tu venuto per dar il sacco? ecco che hai radunato la tua gente per raccoglier preda, per caricarti d'argento e di oro e rapire le robe e gli averi e riportare un ingente bottino. -
14 Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog: Thus says the Lord GOD: When my people Israel are dwelling in security, will you not bestir yourself	14 Per questo profetizza, o figlio dell'uomo, e di' a Gog: - Così dice il Signore Dio: "In quel giorno mentre il mio popolo Israele dimorerà in tutta sicurezza, tu lo saprai?
15 and come from your home in the recesses of the north, you and many peoples with you, all mounted on horses, a great horde and a mighty army?	15 E verrai dal tuo luogo, dalle plaghe settentrionali, tu e molti popoli teco, tutti montati in arcione, una torma stragrande, un esercito possente.
16 You shall come up against my people Israel like a cloud covering the land. In the last days I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know of me, when in their sight I prove my holiness through you, O Gog.	16 E salirai contro al mio popolo Israele, come un nembo per coprire la terra. In sugli estremi giorni avverrà di te che ti condurrò sopra la mia terra, affinchè le genti riconoscano me, vedendo che mi sono mostrato santo ai loro occhi in te, o Gog"-».
17 Thus says the Lord GOD: It is of you that I spoke in ancient times through my servants, the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days that I would bring you against them.	17 Così dice il Signore Dio: «Tu dunque sei colui del quale ho parlato nei giorni antichi, per mezzo dei servi miei, i profeti d'Israele che profetarono nei giorni dell'età loro qualmente ti avrei fatto venire contro di essi.
18 But on that day, the day when Gog invades the land of Israel, says the Lord GOD, my fury shall be aroused. In my anger	18 E arriverà in quel giorno, nel dì della venuta di Gog sulla terra di Israele, dice il Signore Dio, scoppierà la mia indignazione nel mio furore.
19 and in my jealousy, in my fiery wrath, I swear: On that day there shall be a great shaking upon the land of Israel.	19 E nel mio amore ingelosito, nello sfogo della mia ira, ho parlato, perchè vi sarà in quel giorno un gran commovimento nella terra di Israele;
20 Before me shall tremble the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, the beasts of the field and all the reptiles that crawl upon the ground, and all men who are on the land. Mountains shall be overturned, and cliffs shall tumble, and every wall shall fall to the ground.	20 si commoveranno davanti a me i pesci del mare e i volatili del cielo, le bestie dei campi e ogni rettile che striscia sopra il suolo e tutti gli uomini che sono sulla faccia della terra; e i monti si sconquasseranno e i ripari crolleranno e tutte le mura si rovesceranno al suolo.
21 Against him I will summon every terror, says the Lord GOD, every man's sword against his brother. I will hold judgment with him in pestilence and bloodshed;	21 E chiamerò su tutti i miei monti la spada contro di lui, dice il Signore Dio, ciascuno drizzerà la spada contro il suo simile.
22 flooding rain and hailstones, fire and brimstone, I will rain upon him, upon his troops, and upon the many peoples with him.	22 E farò giustizia di lui colla peste e col sangue, con pioggia violenta e grandine grossa, fuoco e zolfo pioverò su di lui e sul suo esercito e sui popoli numerosi che sono con lui.
23 I will prove my greatness and holiness and make myself known in the sight of many nations; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	23 E apparirò in tutta la mia grandezza e santità, e sarò conosciuto nel cospetto di molte nazioni; e sapranno che io sono il Signore.
