1 On the twelfth day of the tenth month in the tenth year, the word of the LORD came to me:	1 Im zehnten Jahre, am zwölften Tage des zehnten Monats, erging das Wort des HERRN an mich folgendermaßen:
2 Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.	2 »Menschensohn, richte deine Blicke gegen den Pharao, den König von Ägypten, und sprich gegen ihn und gegen ganz Ägypten folgende Weissagungen aus.«
3 Say this to him: Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt, Great crouching monster amidst your Niles: Who say, "The Niles are mine; it is I who made them!"	3 »So hat Gott der HERR gesprochen: ›Nunmehr will ich an dich (= gegen dich vorgehen), Pharao, König von Ägypten, du großes Krokodil, das inmitten seiner Ströme (= Nilarme) lagert, das da spricht: Mir gehört mein Strom, und ich habe ihn mir geschaffen!
4 I will put hooks in your jaws and make the fish of your Niles stick to your scales, then draw you up from the midst of your Niles along with all the fish of your Niles sticking to your scales.	4 So will ich dir nun Haken in die Kinnbacken legen und die Fische deiner Ströme an deinen Schuppen ankleben lassen und will dich mitten aus deinen Strömen heraufziehen samt allen Fischen deiner Ströme, die fest an deinen Schuppen hängen.
5 I will cast you into the desert, you and all the fish of your Niles; You shall fall upon the open field, you shall not be taken up or buried; To the beasts of the earth and the birds of the air I give you as food,	5 Dann will ich dich in die Wüste hinwerfen, dich und alle Fische deiner Ströme; auf das freie Feld sollst du fallen, ohne aufgehoben und bestattet zu werden: den Tieren des Feldes und den Vögeln des Himmels will ich dich zum Fraß geben.
6 That all who dwell in Egypt may know that I am the LORD. Because you have been a reed staff for the house of Israel:	6 Da werden denn alle Bewohner Ägyptens erkennen, daß ich der HERR bin, weil du für das Haus Israel nur ein Rohrstab (= eine Stütze von Schilfrohr) gewesen bist –
7 When they held you in hand, you splintered, throwing every shoulder out of joint; When they leaned on you, you broke, bringing each one of them down headlong;	7 wenn sie dich in die Hand nahmen, knicktest du ein und rissest ihnen die ganze Hand auf; und wenn sie sich auf dich stützen wollten, zerbrachst du und machtest ihnen die ganzen Hüften wanken.‹«
8 therefore thus says the Lord GOD: See! I will bring the sword against you, and cut off from you both man and beast.	8 »Darum hat Gott der HERR so gesprochen: ›Nunmehr will ich das Schwert über dich kommen lassen und Menschen samt Vieh in dir ausrotten;
9 The land of Egypt shall become a desolate waste; thus they shall know that I am the LORD. Because you said, "The Niles are mine; it is I who made them,"	9 und Ägyptenland soll zur Wüste und Einöde werden, damit man erkennt, daß ich der HERR bin. Weil du gesagt hast: ›Mir gehört der Nilstrom, und ich habe ihn geschaffen!‹,
10 therefore see! I am coming at you and against your Niles; I will make the land of Egypt a waste and a desolation from Migdol to Syene, and even to the frontier of Ethiopia.	10 darum will ich nunmehr an dich und an deine Ströme (= Nilarme) und will das Land Ägypten zu Wüsteneien machen, zu wüsten Einöden von Migdol bis nach Syene, bis an die Grenze von Äthiopien.
11 No foot of man or beast shall pass through it; they shall not pass through it, and it will be uninhabited for forty years.	11 Keines Menschen Fuß soll es durchwandern, und auch der Fuß keines Tieres soll es durchschreiten, und es soll vierzig Jahre lang unbewohnt bleiben.
12 I will make the land of Egypt the most desolate of lands, and its cities shall be the most deserted of cities for forty years; and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and strew them over foreign lands.	12 Ja, ich will das Land Ägypten zu einer Wüste machen inmitten verwüsteter Länder, und seine Städte sollen inmitten verödeter Städte vierzig Jahre lang wüst daliegen; und die Ägypter werde ich unter die Völker zerstreuen und in die Länder versprengen.‹«
13 Yet thus says the Lord GOD: At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples among whom they are scattered,	13 Doch so hat Gott der HERR gesprochen: »Nach Ablauf der vierzig Jahre will ich die Ägypter aus den Völkern, unter die sie versprengt waren, wieder sammeln
14 and I will restore Egypt's fortune, bringing them back to the land of Pathros, the land of their origin, where it will be the lowliest	14 und das Schicksal der Ägypter wenden und sie nach Oberägypten, in ihr Geburtsland, zurückbringen; dort werden sie dann ein bescheidenes Königreich bilden.
15 of kingdoms, never more to set itself above the nations. I will make them few, that they may not dominate the nations.	15 Dieses soll weniger mächtig sein als die anderen Königreiche und sich fernerhin nicht mehr über die anderen Völker erheben; und ich will sie wenig zahlreich werden lassen, so daß sie nicht mehr über die anderen Völker herrschen sollen.
16 No longer shall they be for the house of Israel to trust in, but the living reminder of its guilt for having turned to follow after them. Thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	16 Dann wird dieses Reich für das Haus Israel nicht mehr den Gegenstand des Vertrauens bilden, was mich an ihre Verschuldung erinnern würde, wenn sie sich nach ihnen hinwendeten (= sich an sie anschlössen); und sie werden erkennen, daß ich Gott der HERR bin.«
17 On the first day of the first month in the twenty-seventh year, the word of the LORD came to me:	17 Hierauf begab es sich im siebenundzwanzigsten Jahre, am ersten Tage des ersten Monats, da erging das Wort des HERRN an mich folgendermaßen:
18 Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, has led his army in an exhausting campaign against Tyre. Their heads became bald and their shoulders were galled; but neither he nor his army received any wages from Tyre for the campaign he led against it.	18 »Menschensohn, Nebukadnezar, der König von Babylon, hat sein Heer schwere Arbeit verrichten lassen gegen Tyrus, so daß allen die Köpfe kahl geworden und die Schultern (oder: Rücken) allen wund gerieben sind, aber Lohn ist weder ihm noch seinem Heere von Tyrus zuteil geworden für die Arbeit, die er gegen die Stadt (oder: um der Stadt willen) geleistet hat.«
19 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I am now giving the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. He shall carry off its riches, plundering and pillaging it for the wages of his soldiers, who did it for me;	19 Darum hat Gott der HERR so gesprochen: »Ich will nunmehr Nebukadnezar, dem Könige von Babylon, das Land Ägypten geben, damit er sich dessen Reichtum aneignet und es ausraubt und ausplündert: das soll seinem Heere als Lohn zuteil werden.
20 as payment for his toil I have given him the land of Egypt, says the Lord GOD.	20 Als seinen Sold, um den er sich abgemüht hat, gebe ich ihm das Land Ägypten, weil sie für mich gearbeitet haben« – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN.
21 On that day I will make a horn sprout for the house of Israel, and I will cause you to speak out in their midst; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	21 »An jenem Tage will ich das Haus Israel zu neuer Macht erwachsen lassen und dir gewähren, den Mund in ihrer Mitte wieder frei aufzutun, damit sie erkennen, daß ich der HERR bin.«
