1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 Une parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
2 Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre: Thus says the Lord GOD: Because you are haughty of heart, you say, "A god am I! I occupy a godly throne in the heart of the sea!"-- And yet you are a man, and not a god, however you may think yourself like a god.	2 “Fils d’homme, adresse-toi au prince de Tyr; tu lui diras cette parole de Yahvé: Tu es bien prétentieux, tu te vois comme un dieu dans sa résidence divine, au cœur des mers! Vas-tu te prendre pour Dieu, toi qui es homme et non pas Dieu?
3 Oh yes, you are wiser than Daniel, there is no secret that is beyond you.	3 Te voilà plus sage que Daniel: il n’y a plus de secrets pour toi!
4 By your wisdom and your intelligence you have made riches for yourself; You have put gold and silver into your treasuries.	4 Tu as l’intelligence, tu as su y faire, et la richesse t’est venue: l’or et l’argent ont rempli tes coffres.
5 By your great wisdom applied to your trading you have heaped up your riches; your heart has grown haughty from your riches--	5 Grâce à ton intelligence, grâce à tes affaires, ta richesse s’est accrue, et l’orgueil t’est venu à la mesure de ta richesse.
6 therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have thought yourself to have the mind of a god,	6 C’est pourquoi, voici ce que dit Yahvé à celui qui se prend pour Dieu:
7 Therefore I will bring against you foreigners, the most barbarous of nations. They shall draw their swords against your beauteous wisdom, they shall run them through your splendid apparel.	7 Je fais venir contre toi des étrangers, les tombeurs des peuples; leur épée va se mesurer avec ta belle culture, ils piétineront ta gloire.
8 They shall thrust you down to the pit, there to die a bloodied corpse, in the heart of the sea.	8 Ils te feront descendre dans la tombe et tu mourras là, au cœur des mers.
9 Will you then say, "I am a god!" when you face your murderers? No, you are a man, not a god, handed over to those who will slay you.	9 Quand on viendra te tuer, diras-tu encore: “Je suis Dieu”? Aux mains du meurtrier tu seras homme et non pas Dieu.
10 You shall die the death of the uncircumcised at the hands of foreigners, for I have spoken, says the Lord GOD.	10 Tu mourras de la mort des païens, et par la main des étrangers, c’est moi qui le dis - parole de Yahvé.
11 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	11 Cette parole de Yahvé me fut encore adressée:
12 Son of man, utter a lament over the king of Tyre, saying to him: Thus says the Lord GOD: You were stamped with the seal of perfection, of complete wisdom and perfect beauty.	12 “Fils d’homme, chante cette lamentation sur le roi de Tyr. Tu lui diras cette parole de Yahvé: “Tu semblais être la clef de voûte, plein de sagesse, et d’une beauté parfaite.
13 In Eden, the garden of God, you were, and every precious stone was your covering (carnelian, topaz, and beryl, chrysolite, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, garnet, and emerald); Of gold your pendants and jewels were made, on the day you were created.	13 Tu vivais en Éden, dans le jardin de Dieu, sur toi ce n’étaient que pierres précieuses: cornaline, topaze et diamant, chrysolithe, onyx et jaspe, saphir, malachite, émeraude, avec des croissants, des pendentifs en or ouvragés, dès le jour où tu fus créé.
14 With the Cherub I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God, walking among the fiery stones.	14 Je t’avais mis de garde, comme un Kéroub, sur la montagne sainte de Dieu: tu y restais, allant et venant entre les pierres de feu.
15 Blameless you were in your conduct from the day you were created, Until evil was found in you,	15 Depuis le jour où tu fus créé, ta conduite avait été parfaite, jusqu’au jour où le mal s’est trouvé chez toi.
16 the result of your far-flung trade; violence was your business, and you sinned. Then I banned you from the mountain of God; the Cherub drove you from among the fiery stones.	16 (À force de trafiquer, tu t’es rempli de violence et tu as péché;) alors je t’ai banni de la montagne de Dieu: j’ai cassé le Kéroub, celui qui veillait entre les pierres de feu.
17 You became haughty of heart because of your beauty; for the sake of splendor you debased your wisdom. I cast you to the earth, so great was your guilt; I made you a spectacle in the sight of kings.	17 Tu étais trop fier de ta beauté: ta beauté t’a fait perdre la sagesse; c’est pourquoi je t’ai jeté à terre, donné en spectacle aux rois de la terre.
18 Because of your guilt, your sinful trade, I have profaned your sanctuaries, And I have brought out fire from your midst which will devour you. I have reduced you to dust on the earth in the sight of all who should see you.	18 À force de richesse, de profits malhonnêtes, tu as profané le lieu sacré; j’ai fait que le feu sorte de toi et te dévore, je n’ai laissé de toi que cendres sur la terre sous les yeux de ceux qui te regardaient.
19 Among the peoples, all who knew you stand aghast at you; You have become a horror, you shall be no more.	19 Tous ceux qui te connaissent à l’étranger, en ont eu le souffle coupé; tu n’inspires plus que de l’effroi: on ne te reverra plus.
20 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	20 Cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
21 Son of man, look toward Sidon, and prophesy against it:	21 “Fils d’homme, adresse-toi maintenant à Sidon et prophétise contre elle.
22 Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am coming at you, Sidon; I will be glorified in your midst. Then they shall know that I am the LORD, when I inflict punishments upon it and use it to manifest my holiness.	22 Tu lui diras cette parole de Yahvé: Je vais m’en prendre à toi, Sidon, et je me couvrirai de gloire à tes dépens. On saura que je suis Yahvé, lorsque j’exécuterai mes décisions: alors on connaîtra ma sainteté.
23 Into it I will send pestilence, and blood shall flow in its streets. Within it shall fall those slain by the sword that comes against it from every side. Thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	23 ( ) L’épée frappera de tous côtés, les morts tomberont dans la ville: alors on saura que je suis Yahvé.
24 Sidon shall no longer be a tearing thorn for the house of Israel, a brier that scratches them more than all the others about them who despise them; thus they shall know that I am the LORD.	24 La maison d’Israël n’aura plus parmi ses voisins qui la méprisent ni épines pour la blesser, ni ronces pour la déchirer: alors on saura que je suis Yahvé.
25 Thus says the Lord GOD: When I gather the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, then I will manifest my holiness through them in the sight of the nations. Then they shall live on their land which I gave to my servant Jacob;	25 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je rassemblerai Israël du milieu des peuples où il est dispersé: c’est ainsi que je ferai voir aux nations ma sainteté. Israël habitera sur le sol que j’ai donné à mon serviteur Jacob.
26 they shall live on it in security, building houses and planting vineyards. They shall dwell secure while I inflict punishments on all their neighbors who despised them; thus they shall know that I, the LORD, am their God.	26 Ils l’habiteront en sécurité, ils construiront des maisons et planteront des vignes. Ils habiteront en sécurité, car j’aurai châtié tous leurs voisins qui les méprisent. Alors on saura que je suis Yahvé, leur Dieu.
