Leviticus 10

1 During this time Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers and, strewing incense on the fire they had put in them, they offered up before the LORD profane fire, such as he had not authorized.	1 Alors Nadab et Abiu, fils d'Aaron, ayant pris leurs encensoirs, y mirent du feu, et de l'encens par-dessus, et ils offrirent devant le Seigneur un feu étranger, ce qui ne leur avait point été commandé;
2 Fire therefore came forth from the LORD'S presence and consumed them, so that they died in his presence.	2 Et aussitôt un feu étant sorti du Seigneur les dévora, et ils moururent devant le Seigneur.
3 Moses then said to Aaron, "This is as the LORD said: Through those who approach me I will manifest my sacredness; In the sight of all the people I will reveal my glory." But Aaron said nothing.	3 Alors Moïse dit à Aaron: Voilà ce que le Seigneur a dit: Je serai sanctifié dans ceux qui M'approchent, et Je serai glorifié devant tout le peuple. Aaron, entendant cela, se tut.
4 Then Moses summoned Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Aaron's uncle Uzziel, with the order, "Come, remove your kinsmen from the sanctuary and carry them to a place outside the camp."	4 Et Moïse, ayant appelé Misaël et Elisaphan, fils d'Oziel, qui était oncle d'Aaron, leur dit: Allez, ôtez vos frères de devant le sanctuaire, et emportez-les hors du camp.
5 So they went in and took them, in their tunics, outside the camp, as Moses had commanded.	5 Ils allèrent aussitôt les prendre couchés et morts comme ils étaient, vêtus de leurs tuniques de lin, et ils les jetèrent dehors, selon qu'il leur avait été commandé.
6 Moses said to Aaron and his sons Eleazar and Ithamar, "Do not bare your heads or tear your garments, lest you bring not only death on yourselves but God's wrath also on the whole community. Your kinsmen, the rest of the house of Israel, shall mourn for those whom the LORD'S fire has smitten;	6 Alors Moïse dit à Aaron, et à Eleazar et Ithamar, ses autres fils: Prenez garde de ne pas découvrir votre tête et de ne pas déchirer vos vêtements, de peur que vous ne mouriez et que la colère du Seigneur ne s'élève contre tout le peuple. Que vos frères et que toute la maison d'Israël pleurent l'embrasement qui est venu du Seigneur;
7 but do not you go beyond the entry of the meeting tent, else you shall die; for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon you." So they did as Moses told them.	7 Mais, pour vous, ne sortez point hors des portes du tabernacle; autrement vous périrez, parce que l'huile de l'onction sainte a été répandue sur vous. Et ils firent tout selon que Moïse le leur avait ordonné.
8 The LORD said to Aaron,	8 Le Seigneur dit aussi à Aaron:
9 "When you are to go to the meeting tent, you and your sons are forbidden under pain of death, by a perpetual ordinance throughout your generations, to drink any wine or strong drink.	9 Vous ne boirez point, vous et vos enfants, de vin, ni rien de ce qui peut enivrer, quand vous entrerez dans le tabernacle du témoignage, de peur que vous ne soyez punis de mort; parce que c'est une ordonnance éternelle pour toute votre postérité;
10 You must be able to distinguish between what is sacred and what is profane, between what is clean and what is unclean;	10 Afin que vous ayez la science de discerner entre ce qui est saint ou profane, entre ce qui est souillé et ce qui est pur,
11 you must teach the Israelites all the laws that the LORD has given them through Moses."	11 Et que vous appreniez aux enfants d'Israël toutes Mes lois et Mes ordonnances que Je leur ai prescrites par Moïse.
12 Moses said to Aaron and his surviving sons, Eleazar and Ithamar, "Take the cereal offering left over from the oblations of the LORD, and eat it beside the altar in the form of unleavened cakes. Since it is most sacred,	12 Moïse dit alors à Aaron, et à Eléazar et Ithamar, ses fils qui lui étaient restés: Prenez le sacrifice qui est demeuré de l'oblation du Seigneur, et mangez-le sans levain près de l'autel, parce que c'est une chose très sainte.
13 you must eat it in a sacred place. This is your due from the oblations of the LORD, and that of your sons; such is the command I have received.	13 Vous le mangerez dans le lieu saint, comme ayant été donné à vous et à vos enfants, des oblations du Seigneur, selon qu'il m'a été commandé.
14 With your sons and daughters you shall also eat the breast of the wave offering and the leg of the raised offering, in a clean place; for these have been assigned to you and your children as your due from the peace offerings of the Israelites.	14 Vous mangerez aussi, vous, vos fils et vos filles avec vous, dans un lieu très pur, la poitrine qui en a été offerte et l'épaule qui a été mise à part. Car c'est ce qui a été réservé pour vous et pour vos enfants, des hosties pacifiques des enfants d'Israël;
15 The leg of the raised offering and the breast of the wave offering shall first be brought in with the oblations, the fatty portions, that are to be waved as a wave offering before the LORD. Then they shall belong to you and your children by a perpetual ordinance, as the LORD has commanded."	15 Parce qu'ils ont élevé devant le Seigneur l'épaule, la poitrine et les graisses de la victime qui se brûlent sur l'autel, et que ces choses vous appartiennent, à vous et à vos enfants, par une ordonnance perpétuelle, selon l'ordre que le Seigneur en a donné.
16 When Moses inquired about the goat of the sin offering, he discovered that it had all been burned. So he was angry with the surviving sons of Aaron, Eleazar and Ithamar, and said,	16 Cependant Moïse, cherchant le bouc qui avait été offert pour le péché, trouva qu'il avait été brûlé; et s'irritant contre Eléazar et Ithamar, les fils survivants d'Aaron, il leur dit:
17 "Why did you not eat the sin offering in the sacred place, since it is most sacred? It has been given to you that you might bear the guilt of the community and make atonement for them before the LORD.	17 Pourquoi n'avez-vous pas mangé dans le lieu saint l'hostie qui s'offre pour le péché, dont la chair est très sainte, et qui vous a été donnée afin que vous portiez l'iniquité du peuple, et que vous priiez pour lui devant le Seigneur;
18 If its blood was not brought into the inmost part of the sanctuary, you should certainly have eaten the offering in the sanctuary, in keeping with the command I had received."	18 Et d'autant plus qu'on n'a point porté du sang de cette hostie dans le sanctuaire, et que vous devriez l'avoir mangée dans le lieu saint, selon qu'il m'avait été ordonné?
19 Aaron answered Moses, "Even though they presented their sin offering and holocaust before the LORD today, yet this misfortune has befallen me. Had I then eaten of the sin offering today, would it have been pleasing to the LORD?"	19 Aaron lui répondit: La victime pour le péché a été offerte aujourd'hui, et l'holocauste a été présenté devant le Seigneur; mais pour moi, il m'est arrivé ce que vous voyez. Comment aurais-je pu manger de cette hostie, ou plaire au Seigneur dans ces cérémonies saintes, avec un esprit abattu d'affliction?
20 On hearing this, Moses was satisfied.	20 Ce que Moïse ayant entendu, il reçut l'excuse qu'il lui donnait.
