Isaiah 7

1 In the days of Ahaz, king of Judah, son of Jotham, son of Uzziah, Rezin, king of Aram, and Pekah, king of Israel, son of Remaliah, went up to attack Jerusalem, but they were not able to conquer it.	1 No tempo de Acaz, filho de Joatão, filho de Ozias, rei de Judá, Rasin, rei de Arão, foi com Pecá, filho de Romelia, rei de Israel, contra Jerusalém para lhe dar combate; mas não pôde apoderar-se dela.
2 When word came to the house of David that Aram was encamped in Ephraim, the heart of the king and heart of the people trembled, as the trees of the forest tremble in the wind.	2 Quando se soube, na casa de Davi, que {o exército da} Síria estava acampado em Efraim, o coração do rei e o de seu povo ficaram perturbados como as árvores das florestas agitadas pelos ventos.
3 Then the LORD said to Isaiah: Go out to meet Ahaz, you and your son Shear-jashub, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, on the highway of the fuller's field,	3 Então disse o Senhor a Isaías: Vai ter com Acaz, com Sear-Jasub, teu filho, na extremidade do aqueduto do reservatório superior, no caminho do campo do pisoeiro.
4 and say to him: Take care you remain tranquil and do not fear; let not your courage fail before these two stumps of smoldering brands (the blazing anger of Rezin and the Arameans, and of the son of Remaliah),	4 E dize-lhe: Tem ânimo, não temas, não vacile o teu coração diante desses dois pedaços de tições fumegantes. {Diante do furor de Rasin, da Síria, e do filho de Romelia}.
5 because of the mischief that Aram (Ephraim and the son of Remaliah) plots against you, saying,	5 Visto que a Síria decidiu tua perdição, com Efraim e o filho de Romelia, dizendo:
6 "Let us go up and tear Judah asunder, make it our own by force, and appoint the son of Tabeel king there."	6 Vamos contra Judá, nós o bateremos, e nos apoderaremos dele, e proclamaremos rei o filho de Tabeel.
7 Thus says the LORD: This shall not stand, it shall not be!	7 Eis o que disse o Senhor Javé: Isso não acontecerá, essas coisas não se realizarão,
8 Damascus is the capital of Aram, and Rezin the head of Damascus; Samaria is the capital of Ephraim, and Remaliah's son the head of Samaria.	8 porque a capital da Síria é Damasco, e a cabeça de Damasco é Rasin. {Dentro de sessenta e cinco anos Efraim desaparecerá do rol dos povos.}
9 But within sixty years and five, Ephraim shall be crushed, no longer a nation. Unless your faith is firm you shall not be firm!	9 E a capital de Efraim é Samaria, e a cabeça de Samaria é o filho de Romelia. Se não o crerdes, não subsistireis.
10 Again the LORD spoke to Ahaz:	10 O Senhor disse ainda a Acaz:
11 Ask for a sign from the LORD, your God; let it be deep as the nether world, or high as the sky!	11 Pede ao Senhor teu Deus um sinal, seja do fundo da habitação dos mortos, seja lá do alto.
12 But Ahaz answered, "I will not ask! I will not tempt the LORD!"	12 Acaz respondeu: De maneira alguma! Não quero pôr o Senhor à prova.
13 Then he said: Listen, O house of David! Is it not enough for you to weary men, must you also weary my God?	13 Isaías respondeu: Ouvi, casa de Davi: Não vos basta fatigar a paciência dos homens? Pretendeis cansar também o meu Deus?
14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you this sign: the virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel.	14 Por isso, o próprio Senhor vos dará um sinal: uma virgem conceberá e dará à luz um filho, e o chamará Deus Conosco.
15 He shall be living on curds and honey by the time he learns to reject the bad and choose the good.	15 Ele será nutrido com manteiga e mel até que saiba rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem.
16 For before the child learns to reject the bad and choose the good, the land of those two kings whom you dread shall be deserted.	16 Porque antes que o menino saiba rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem, a terra, cujos dois reis tu temes, será devastada.
17 The LORD shall bring upon you and your people and your father's house days worse than any since Ephraim seceded from Judah. (This means the king of Assyria.)	17 O Senhor fará vir sobre ti, sobre teu povo e sobre a casa de teu pai, dias tais como não houve desde que Efraim se separou de Judá {o rei dos assírios}.
18 On that day The LORD shall whistle for the fly that is in the farthest streams of Egypt, and for the bee in the land of Assyria.	18 Naquele dia, o Senhor assobiará às moscas que estão nas margens dos rios do Egito e às abelhas da terra da Assíria.
19 All of them shall come and settle in the steep ravines and in the rocky clefts, on all thornbushes and in all pastures.	19 Elas virão pousar em massa nos vales escarpados, nas cavernas dos rochedos, sobre todas as moitas e todas as pastagens.
20 On that day the LORD shall shave with the razor hired from across the River (with the king of Assyria) the head, and the hair between the legs. It shall also shave off the beard.	20 Naquele tempo, com uma navalha emprestada do outro lado do rio {com o rei da Assíria} o Senhor vos raspará a cabeça e os pêlos das pernas, assim como a barba.
21 On that day a man shall keep a heifer or a couple of sheep,	21 Naquele tempo, cada homem manterá uma vaca e duas ovelhas;
22 and from their abundant yield of milk he shall live on curds; curds and honey shall be the food of all who remain in the land.	22 comer-se-á a manteiga de todo o leite que elas derem, porque é de manteiga e mel que viverão aqueles que subsistirem na terra.
23 On that day every place where there used to be a thousand vines, worth a thousand pieces of silver, shall be turned to briers and thorns.	23 Naquele tempo, todo terreno que contiver mil vides valendo mil siclos de prata será abandonado às sarças e aos espinhos.
24 Men shall go there with bow and arrows; for all the country shall be briers and thorns.	24 Ali só se entrará com setas e arcos, porque toda aquela terra estará coberta de sarças e espinhos.
25 For fear of briers and thorns you shall not go upon any mountainside which used to be hoed with the mattock; they shall be grazing land for cattle and shall be trampled upon by sheep.	25 Não se voltará mais aos montes que eram cultivados à enxada, por causa das sarças e dos espinhos; será permitido aos bois pastá-los e serão pisados pelos carneiros.
