Isaiah 19

1 Oracle on Egypt: See, the LORD is riding on a swift cloud on his way to Egypt; The idols of Egypt tremble before him, the hearts of the Egyptians melt within them.	1 Oráculo contra o Egito. Eis que o Senhor, montado numa nuvem rápida, vem ao Egito. Os ídolos do Egito tremem diante dele e o Egito sente desfalecer sua coragem.
2 I will rouse Egypt against Egypt: brother will war against brother, Neighbor against neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kindgom.	2 Excitarei os egípcios, uns contra os outros, e eles se baterão irmão contra irmão, amigo contra amigo, cidade contra cidade, reino contra reino.
3 The courage of the Egyptians ebbs away within them, and I will bring to nought their counsel; They shall consult idols and charmers, ghosts and spirits.	3 O Egito perderá a cabeça, e eu abolirei sua prudência. Consultarão os ídolos e os feiticeiros, os evocadores de mortos e os adivinhos.
4 I will deliver Egypt into the power of a cruel master, A harsh king who shall rule over them, says the Lord, the LORD of hosts.	4 Entregarei esta terra nas mãos de um soberano cruel, um rei implacável a dominará. Oráculo do Senhor dos exércitos.
5 The waters shall be drained from the sea, the river shall shrivel and dry up;	5 As águas do mar se estancarão, e o rio se tornará seco e árido.
6 Its streams shall become foul, and the canals of Egypt shall dwindle and dry up. Reeds and rushes shall wither away,	6 A água estagnará nos canais, os rios do Egito diminuirão e secarão. Juncos e caniços murcharão
7 and bulrushes on the bank of the Nile; All the sown land along the Nile shall dry up and blow away, and be no more.	7 nas campinas à margem do Nilo; tudo o que cresce ao longo do rio secará, cairá e desaparecerá;
8 The fishermen shall mourn and lament, all who cast hook in the Nile; Those who spread their nets in the water shall pine away.	8 os pescadores ficarão desolados, os que lançam o anzol no rio se lamentarão, e os que lançam suas redes às águas ficarão consternados.
9 The linen-workers shall be disappointed, the combers and weavers shall turn pale;	9 Os que trabalham o linho ficarão decepcionados, os cardadores e os tecelães serão confundidos,
10 The spinners shall be crushed, all the hired laborers shall be despondent.	10 os tecedores ficarão à míngua, e todos os trabalhadores em desolação.
11 Utter fools are the princes of Zoan! the wisest of Pharaoh's advisers give stupid counsel. How can you say to Pharaoh, "I am a disciple of wise men, of ancient kings"?	11 Os príncipes de Soã enlouquecerão, os sábios conselheiros do faraó formarão um conselho insensato. Como ousais dizer ao faraó: Eu sou filho de sábios, filho dos antigos reis?
12 Where then are your wise men? Let them tell you and make known What the LORD of hosts has planned against Egypt.	12 Onde estão agora os teus sábios? Que eles te anunciem e te façam saber os desígnios do Senhor dos exércitos contra o Egito!
13 The princes of Zoan have become fools, the princes of Memphis have been deceived. The chiefs of her tribes have led Egypt astray.	13 Os príncipes de Soã perdem a razão, os príncipes de Nof são iludidos; e os chefes das tribos desencaminham o Egito.
14 The LORD has prepared among them a spirit of dizziness, And they have made Egypt stagger in whatever she does, as a drunkard staggers in his vomit.	14 O Senhor difundiu entre eles um espírito de vertigem, e eles vagueiam por todo o Egito sem desígnio certo, como um bêbado que cambaleia em seu vômito.
15 Egypt shall have no work to do for head or tail, palm branch or reed.	15 O Egito não está em condições de decidir o que devem fazer a cabeça e a cauda, a palma e o junco.
16 On that day the Egyptians shall be like women, trembling with fear, because of the LORD of hosts shaking his fist at them.	16 Naquele tempo, os egípcios serão como mulheres, tremerão de medo sob a ameaça da mão do Senhor levantada sobre eles.
17 And the land of Judah shall be a terror to the Egyptians. Every time they remember Judah, they shall stand in dread because of the plan which the LORD of hosts has in mind for them.	17 Então a terra de Judá será o terror do Egito; logo que se fale nela, ele se encherá de pavor, por causa dos desígnios que o Senhor dos exércitos formou contra ele.
18 On that day there shall be five cities in the land of Egypt speaking the language of Canaan and swearing by the LORD of hosts; one shall be called "City of the Sun."	18 Naquele tempo, haverá no Egito cinco cidades que falarão a língua de Canaã e jurarão pelo Senhor dos exércitos. Uma delas será chamada a Cidade do Sol.
19 On that day there shall be an altar to the LORD in the land of Egypt, and a sacred pillar to the LORD near the boundary.	19 Naquele tempo, haverá um altar erguido ao Senhor, em pleno Egito, e, em suas fronteiras, um obelisco dedicado ao Senhor.
20 It shall be a sign and a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt, when they cry out to the LORD against their oppressors, and he sends them a savior to defend and deliver them.	20 E eles servirão de monumento ao Senhor na terra do Egito. Quando maltratados pelos opressores, invocarão o Senhor, e ele lhes enviará um salvador, um defensor que os libertará.
21 The LORD shall make himself known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day; they shall offer sacrifices and oblations, and fulfill the vows they make to the LORD.	21 O Senhor se dará a conhecer ao Egito, os egípcios conhecerão o Senhor naquele tempo, e lhe oferecerão sacrifícios e oblações; farão votos ao Senhor e os cumprirão.
22 Although the LORD shall smite Egypt severely, he shall heal them; they shall turn to the LORD and he shall be won over and heal them.	22 Quando o Senhor ferir os egípcios, será para curá-los; eles se voltarão para o Senhor, que se deixará aplacar e os curará.
23 On that day there shall be a highway from Egypt to Assyria; the Assyrians shall enter Egypt, and the Egyptians enter Assyria, and Egypt shall serve Assyria.	23 Naquele tempo, haverá um caminho do Egito para a Assíria; os assírios irão ao Egito, e os egípcios, à Assíria. O Egito e a Assíria renderão culto ao Senhor.
24 On that day Israel shall be a third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the land,	24 Naquele tempo, Israel será, como terceiro, aliado ao Egito e à Assíria, objeto da bênção no meio da terra
25 when the LORD of hosts blesses it: "Blessed be my people Egypt, and the work of my hands Assyria, and my inheritance, Israel."	25 Que o Senhor dos exércitos abençoará nestes termos: Bendito seja meu povo do Egito, a Assíria, obra de minhas mãos, e Israel, minha herança!
