1 Oracle on Egypt: See, the LORD is riding on a swift cloud on his way to Egypt; The idols of Egypt tremble before him, the hearts of the Egyptians melt within them.	1 Une sentence contre l’Égypte: Yahvé est monté sur un nuage léger; voici qu’il arrive en Égypte et l’Égypte sent son cœur défaillir, les idoles d’Égypte tremblent devant lui.
2 I will rouse Egypt against Egypt: brother will war against brother, Neighbor against neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kindgom.	2 Je vais dresser l’Égypte contre l’Égypte, on se battra entre frères, voisin contre voisin, ville contre ville, royaume contre royaume.
3 The courage of the Egyptians ebbs away within them, and I will bring to nought their counsel; They shall consult idols and charmers, ghosts and spirits.	3 Voici que l’Égypte ne sait plus que faire, j’ai brouillé sa clairvoyance. Ils s’en vont consulter les idoles, les magiciens, les sorciers et les devins.
4 I will deliver Egypt into the power of a cruel master, A harsh king who shall rule over them, says the Lord, the LORD of hosts.	4 Je vais livrer l’Égypte à un maître cruel, un tyran régnera sur eux - parole du Seigneur, Yahvé Sabaot.
5 The waters shall be drained from the sea, the river shall shrivel and dry up;	5 Les eaux de la mer se perdent, le fleuve se tarit et se dessèche,
6 Its streams shall become foul, and the canals of Egypt shall dwindle and dry up. Reeds and rushes shall wither away,	6 les rivières deviennent infectes, les fleuves d’Égypte baissent et se dessèchent, les roseaux et les joncs se flétrissent.
7 and bulrushes on the bank of the Nile; All the sown land along the Nile shall dry up and blow away, and be no more.	7 Toute l’herbe des bords du Nil, toutes les plantes semées au bord du Nil, se dessèchent, sont emportés, disparaissent.
8 The fishermen shall mourn and lament, all who cast hook in the Nile; Those who spread their nets in the water shall pine away.	8 Les pécheurs se lamentent, ceux qui jettent l’hameçon dans le Nil sont en deuil, ceux qui jettent leurs filets sur les eaux sont désespérés.
9 The linen-workers shall be disappointed, the combers and weavers shall turn pale;	9 Déception pour ceux qui travaillent le lin! Ceux qui travaillent la toile blanche,
10 The spinners shall be crushed, all the hired laborers shall be despondent.	10 comme ceux qui la tissent, sont découragés; les ouvriers sont démoralisés.
11 Utter fools are the princes of Zoan! the wisest of Pharaoh's advisers give stupid counsel. How can you say to Pharaoh, "I am a disciple of wise men, of ancient kings"?	11 Qu’ils sont bêtes les chefs de Soan, quel conseil stupide que ces sages conseillers du Pharaon! Comment pouvez-vous dire au Pharaon: “Nous sommes les fils des sages, les fils des rois d’autrefois?”
12 Where then are your wise men? Let them tell you and make known What the LORD of hosts has planned against Egypt.	12 Où sont-ils donc tes sages? Qu’ils t’annoncent, qu’ils devinent ce que Yahvé Sabaot a décidé contre l’Égypte!
13 The princes of Zoan have become fools, the princes of Memphis have been deceived. The chiefs of her tribes have led Egypt astray.	13 Les princes de Soan ont perdu le sens, les princes de Nof se trompent, les chefs de ses tribus égarent l’Égypte.
14 The LORD has prepared among them a spirit of dizziness, And they have made Egypt stagger in whatever she does, as a drunkard staggers in his vomit.	14 Yahvé a fait passer dans ce pays un esprit d’égarement; et voilà l’Égypte qui fait tout de travers, comme un homme ivre, tout hébété quand il vomit.
15 Egypt shall have no work to do for head or tail, palm branch or reed.	15 Rien ne profite plus à l’Égypte, que cela vienne de la tête ou de la queue, de la palme ou du jonc.
16 On that day the Egyptians shall be like women, trembling with fear, because of the LORD of hosts shaking his fist at them.	16 En ce jour-là l’Égypte sera comme une femme, tremblante, effrayée rien qu’à voir la main menaçante de Yahvé Sabaot.
17 And the land of Judah shall be a terror to the Egyptians. Every time they remember Judah, they shall stand in dread because of the plan which the LORD of hosts has in mind for them.	17 Le pays de Juda fera peur à l’Égypte. Chaque fois qu’on parlera de lui elle tremblera en pensant aux menaces de Yahvé Sabaot.
18 On that day there shall be five cities in the land of Egypt speaking the language of Canaan and swearing by the LORD of hosts; one shall be called "City of the Sun."	18 En ce jour-là, cinq villes au pays d’Égypte parleront la langue de Canaan: on aura recours au nom de Yahvé Sabaot pour y prêter serment. L’une d’elle sera appelée ville du Soleil.
19 On that day there shall be an altar to the LORD in the land of Egypt, and a sacred pillar to the LORD near the boundary.	19 Ce jour-là il y aura en pleine terre d’Égypte un autel consacré à Yahvé et, près de la frontière, un monument dédié à Yahvé.
20 It shall be a sign and a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt, when they cry out to the LORD against their oppressors, and he sends them a savior to defend and deliver them.	20 Il sera un signe et un témoin de Yahvé Sabaot dans le pays d’Égypte. Quand ils crieront vers lui au temps de l’oppression, il leur enverra un sauveur, un défenseur qui les délivrera.
21 The LORD shall make himself known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day; they shall offer sacrifices and oblations, and fulfill the vows they make to the LORD.	21 Yahvé se fera connaître aux Égyptiens et les Égyptiens connaîtront Yahvé. Ils présenteront des sacrifices et des offrandes en l’honneur de Yahvé, ils feront des vœux et les accompliront.
22 Although the LORD shall smite Egypt severely, he shall heal them; they shall turn to the LORD and he shall be won over and heal them.	22 Car Yahvé frappera l’Égypte, mais après l’avoir frappée il la guérira; ils reviendront à Yahvé, il entendra leurs prières et les guérira.
23 On that day there shall be a highway from Egypt to Assyria; the Assyrians shall enter Egypt, and the Egyptians enter Assyria, and Egypt shall serve Assyria.	23 Ce jour-là une route mènera d’Égypte en Assyrie, l’Assyrie aura des relations avec l’Égypte et l’Égypte avec l’Assyrie, et l’Égypte, comme l’Assyrie, servira Yahvé.
24 On that day Israel shall be a third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the land,	24 En ce jour-là Israël se joindra comme un tiers à l’Égypte et à l’Assyrie, et ce sera une bénédiction dans le monde.
25 when the LORD of hosts blesses it: "Blessed be my people Egypt, and the work of my hands Assyria, and my inheritance, Israel."	25 Yahvé Sabaot les bénira, il dira: “Bénie soit l’Égypte, mon peuple, et l’Assyrie, œuvre de mes mains, et Israël, mon héritage!”
