Isaiah 11

1 But a shoot shall sprout from the stump of Jesse, and from his roots a bud shall blossom.	1 Ma un rampollo uscirà dal tronco di Iesse e un virgulto spunterà dalle sue radici.
2 The spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him: a spirit of wisdom and of understanding, A spirit of counsel and of strength, a spirit of knowledge and of fear of the LORD,	2 Riposerà sopra di lui lo spirito del Signore, spirito di sapienza e di discernimento, spirito di consiglio e di fortezza, spirito di conoscenza e di timore del Signore.
3 and his delight shall be the fear of the LORD. Not by appearance shall he judge, nor by hearsay shall he decide,	3 Troverà compiacenza nel timore del Signore. Non giudicherà secondo le apparenze, né renderà sentenza per sentito dire;
4 But he shall judge the poor with justice, and decide aright for the land's afflicted. He shall strike the ruthless with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked.	4 ma giudicherà con giustizia i miseri e con equità renderà sentenze in favore dei poveri del paese; percuoterà il violento con la verga della sua bocca, e farà morire l'empio con il soffio delle sue labbra.
5 Justice shall be the band around his waist, and faithfulness a belt upon his hips.	5 La giustizia sarà la cintura dei suoi lombi e la fedeltà la cintura dei suoi fianchi.
6 Then the wolf shall be a guest of the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; The calf and the young lion shall browse together, with a little child to guide them.	6 Il lupo abiterà insieme all'agnello e la pantera giacerà insieme con il capretto; il vitello e il leone pascoleranno insieme, un bambino li guiderà.
7 The cow and the bear shall be neighbors, together their young shall rest; the lion shall eat hay like the ox.	7 La vacca e l'orso pascoleranno, i loro piccoli giaceranno insieme, il leone come il bue si nutrirà di paglia.
8 The baby shall play by the cobra's den, and the child lay his hand on the adder's lair.	8 Il lattante si divertirà sulla buca dell'aspide, e il bambino porrà la mano nel covo della vipera.
9 There shall be no harm or ruin on all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be filled with knowledge of the LORD, as water covers the sea.	9 Non si commetterà il male né guasto alcuno su tutto il mio santo monte, poiché il paese è pieno della conoscenza del Signore, come le acque ricoprono il mare.
10 On that day, The root of Jesse, set up as a signal for the nations, The Gentiles shall seek out, for his dwelling shall be glorious.	10 In quel giorno la radice di Iesse si ergerà a stendardo dei popoli; le nazioni accorreranno ad essa, e il luogo della sua dimora sarà glorioso.
11 On that day, The Lord shall again take it in hand to reclaim the remnant of his people that is left from Assyria and Egypt, Pathros, Ethiopia, and Elam, Shinar, Hamath, and the isles of the sea.	11 In quel giorno il Signore stenderà di nuovo la sua mano per riscattare il resto del suo popolo superstite dall'Assiria e dall'Egitto, da Patròs, dall'Etiopia, da Elam, da Sènnaar, da Camat e dalle isole del mare.
12 He shall raise a signal to the nations and gather the outcasts of Israel; The dispersed of Judah he shall assemble from the four corners of the earth.	12 Egli alzerà uno stendardo verso le genti e raccoglierà i dispersi d'Israele, radunerà i disseminati di Giuda dai quattro angoli della terra.
13 The envy of Ephraim shall pass away, and the rivalry of Judah be removed; Ephraim shall not be jealous of Judah, and Judah shall not be hostile to Ephraim;	13 La gelosia di Efraim sarà rimossa e gli avversari di Giuda saranno annientati; Efraim non invidierà più Giuda e Giuda non sarà più ostile ad Efraim.
14 But they shall swoop down on the foothills of the Philistines to the west, together they shall plunder the Kedemites; Edom and Moab shall be their possessions, and the Ammonites their subjects.	14 Ma voleranno addosso ai Filistei ad occidente, saccheggeranno insieme i figli dell'oriente; Edom e Moab saranno loro possesso e i figli di Ammon saranno loro sudditi.
15 The LORD shall dry up the tongue of the Sea of Egypt, and wave his hand over the Euphrates in his fierce anger And shatter it into seven streamlets, so that it can be crossed in sandals.	15 Il Signore seccherà la lingua del mare d'Egitto e agiterà la sua mano sul fiume con la potenza del suo spirito e lo dividerà in sette bracci, rendendo possibile la traversata con i sandali.
16 There shall be a highway for the remnant of his people that is left from Assyria, As there was for Israel when he came up from the land of Egypt.	16 E vi sarà una strada per il resto del suo popolo superstite dell'Assiria, come ce ne fu una per Israele quando uscì dalla terra d'Egitto.
