A psalm of David. The LORD says to you, my lord: "Take your throne at my righthand, while I make your enemies your footstool." | 1 Alleluja. Confitebor tibi, Domine, in toto corde meo, in consilio justorum, et congregatione. |
The scepter of your sovereign might the LORD will extend from Zion. The LORD says: "Rule over your enemies! | 2 Magna opera Domini : exquisita in omnes voluntates ejus. |
Yours is princely power from the day of your birth. In holy splendor before the daystar, like the dew I begot you." | 3 Confessio et magnificentia opus ejus, et justitia ejus manet in sæculum sæculi. |
The LORD has sworn and will not waver: "Like Melchizedek you are a priest forever." | 4 Memoriam fecit mirabilium suorum, misericors et miserator Dominus. |
At your right hand is the Lord, who crushes kings on the day of wrath, | 5 Escam dedit timentibus se ; memor erit in sæculum testamenti sui. |
Who, robed in splendor, judges nations, crushes heads across the wide earth, | 6 Virtutem operum suorum annuntiabit populo suo, |
Who drinks from the brook by the wayside and thus holds high the head. | 7 ut det illis hæreditatem gentium. Opera manuum ejus veritas et judicium. |
Fidelia omnia mandata ejus, confirmata in sæculum sæculi, facta in veritate et æquitate.
Redemptionem misit populo suo ; mandavit in æternum testamentum suum. Sanctum et terribile nomen ejus.
Initium sapientiæ timor Domini ; intellectus bonus omnibus facientibus eum : laudatio ejus manet in sæculum sæculi. |
