1 When all the work undertaken by Solomon for the temple of the LORD had been completed, he brought in the dedicated offerings of his father David, putting the silver, the gold and all the other articles in the treasuries of the house of God.	1 Salomão mandou trazer e colocar nos tesouros da casa de Deus tudo o que, Davide, seu pai, tinha oferecido; a prata, o ouro e todos os vasos.
2 At Solomon's order the elders of Israel and all the leaders of the tribes, the princes of the Israelite ancestral houses, came to Jerusalem to bring up the ark of the LORD'S covenant from the City of David (which is Zion).	2 Depois disto convocou em Jerusalém todos os anciães de Israel, todos os príncipes das tribos, e os chefes de famílias dos filhos de Israel, para transportarem a arca da aliança do Senhor da cidade de Davide, que é Sião.
3 All the men of Israel assembled before the king during the festival of the seventh month.	3 Foram à presença do rei todos os varões de Israel no dia solene do sétimo mês,
4 When all the elders of Israel had arrived, the Levites took up the ark,	4 e tendo chegado todos os anciães de Israel, os Levitas levaram a arca
5 and they carried the ark and the meeting tent with all the sacred vessels that were in the tent; it was the levitical priests who carried them.	5 e introduziram-na (no templo), com tudo o que pertencia ao tabernáculo. Os sacerdotes com os Levitas levaram os vasos do santuário, que havia no tabernáculo.
6 King Solomon and the entire community of Israel gathered about him before the ark were sacrificing sheep and oxen so numerous that they could not be counted or numbered.	6 Entretanto o rei Salomão, todo o povo de Israel, todos os que se tinham reunido diante da arca, imolavam carneiros e bois sem número, tão grande era a quantidade das vítimas.
7 The priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place beneath the wings of the cherubim in the sanctuary, the holy of holies of the temple.	7 Os sacerdotes puseram a arca da aliança do Senhor no lugar, isto é, no santuário do templo, no Santo dos Santos, debaixo das asas dos querubins,
8 The cherubim had their wings spread out over the place of the ark, sheltering the ark and its poles from above.	8 de modo que os querubins estendiam as suas asas sobre o lugar em que a arca estava posta, e cobriam a mesma arca e os seus varais.
9 The poles were long enough so that their ends could be seen from that part of the holy place nearest the sanctuary; however, they could not be seen beyond. The ark has remained there to this day.	9 Estes eram bastante compridos para que as suas extremidades pudessem ser vistas de diante do santuário; mas, se alguém estava um tanto fora, já não os podia ver. Ali tem estado a arca até ao dia de hoje.
10 There was nothing in it but the two tablets which Moses put there on Horeb, the tablets of the covenant which the LORD made with the Israelites at their departure from Egypt.	10 Na arca não havia outra coisa além das duas tábuas que Moisés ali tinha posto em Horeb, quando o Senhor deu a lei aos filhos de Israel, na sua saída do Egito.
11 When the priests came out of the holy place (all the priests who were present had purified themselves without reference to the rotation of their various classes),	11 Logo que os sacerdotes saíram do santuário, (porque todos os sacerdotes que puderam achar-se ali, se purificaram, visto que naquele tempo ainda não estavam distribuídos entre eles os turnos e ordem dos ministérios),
12 the Levites who were singers, all who belonged to Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and brothers, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps and lyres, stood east of the altar, and with them a hundred and twenty priests blowing trumpets.	12 tanto os Levitas como os cantores, isto é, os que estavam debaixo da direção de Asaf, e os que estavam debaixo da direção de Heman e de Iditun, seus filhos e irmãos, revestidos de vestes de linho fino, tocavam címbalos, cítaras e harpas, postos em pé, do lado oriental do altar, acompanhados de cento e vinte sacerdotes, que tocavam trombetas.
13 When the trumpeters and singers were heard as a single voice praising and giving thanks to the LORD, and when they raised the sound of the trumpets, cymbals and other musical instruments to "give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his mercy endures forever," the building of the LORD'S temple was filled with a cloud.	13 Quando, nesse momento, todos formavam um concerto com as trombetas, as vozes, os címbalos e outros instrumentos músicos, quando louvavam ao Senhor, dizendo: bem-dizei o Senhor, porque é bom e porque a sua misericórdia, é eterna — encheu-se a casa de Deus de uma nuvem,
14 The priests could not continue to minister because of the cloud, since the LORD'S glory filled the house of God.	14 e os sacerdotes não podiam estar (ali), nem exercer as suas funções, por causa da nuvem, pois a glória do Senhor tinha enchido a casa de Deus.
