1 They brought in the ark of God and set it within the tent which David had pitched for it. Then they offered up holocausts and peace offerings to God.	1 Così l'arca di Dio fu introdotta e collocata in mezzo alla tenda che Davide aveva eretto per essa, poi furono offerti olocausti e sacrifici pacifici dinanzi a Dio.
2 When David had finished offering up the holocausts and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD,	2 Quando Davide ebbe finito di offrire gli olocausti e i sacrifici pacifici, benedisse il popolo nel nome del Signore
3 and distributed to every Israelite, to every man and every woman, a loaf of bread, a piece of meat, and a raisin cake.	3 e distribuì singolarmente a tutti gli Israeliti, uomini e donne, una pagnotta di pane, carne arrostita e una schiacciata di uva passa.
4 He now appointed certain Levites to minister before the ark of the LORD, to celebrate, thank, and praise the LORD, the God of Israel.	4 Egli stabilì che alcuni leviti stessero davanti all'arca di Dio, come ministri per celebrare, glorificare e lodare il Signore, Dio d'Israele:
5 Asaph was their chief, and second to him were Zechariah, Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel. These were to play on harps and lyres, while Asaph was to sound the cymbals,	5 Asaf, il capo, Zaccaria, il suo secondo, Uzzièl, Semiramot, Iechièl, Mattatia, Eliàb, Benaià, Obed-Edom e Ieièl, che suonavano strumenti musicali, arpe e cetre; Asaf suonava i cembali.

7 Then, on that same day, David appointed Asaph and his brethren to sing for the first time these praises of the LORD:	7 Proprio in quel giorno Davide affidò per la prima volta ad Asaf ed ai suoi fratelli questa lode al Signore:
8 Give thanks to the LORD, invoke his name; make known among the nations his deeds.	8 "Celebrate il Signore, invocate il suo nome; fate conoscere tra i popoli le sue gesta!
9 Sing to him, sing his praise, proclaim all his wondrous deeds.	9 Cantate a lui, inneggiate in suo onore, narrate tutte le sue meraviglie.
10 Glory in his holy name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the LORD!	10 Gloriatevi nel suo nome santo, si rallegri il cuore di quanti cercano il Signore.
11 Look to the LORD in his strength; seek to serve him constantly.	11 Cercate il Signore e la sua potenza, ricercate il suo volto continuamente.
12 Recall the wondrous deeds that he has wrought, his portents, and the judgments he has uttered,	12 Ricordate le meraviglie che egli operò, i prodigi e le sentenze della sua bocca,
13 You descendants of Israel, his servants, sons of Jacob, his chosen ones!	13 progenie di Israele, suo servo, figli di Giacobbe, suoi eletti!
14 He, the LORD, is our God; throughout the earth his judgments prevail.	14 Egli, il Signore, è il nostro Dio, su tutta la terra sono i suoi giudizi.
15 He remembers forever his covenant which he made binding for a thousand generations--	15 Ricordatevi sempre della sua alleanza, della parola che ordinò per mille generazioni,
16 Which he entered into with Abraham and by his oath to Isaac;	16 dell'alleanza stipulata con Abramo, del suo giuramento fatto ad Isacco,
17 Which he established for Jacob by statute, for Israel as an everlasting covenant,	17 che stabilì per Giacobbe come uno statuto e per Israele come un'alleanza eterna,
18 Saying, "To you will I give the land of Canaan as your allotted inheritance."	18 dicendo: "A te darò il paese di Canaan come porzione della vostra eredità,
19 When they were few in number, a handful, and strangers there,	19 per quanto siate pochi di numero, pochi e inoltre stranieri nel paese".
20 Wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another people,	20 Passarono da una nazione all'altra e da un regno a un altro popolo.
21 He let no one oppress them, and for their sake he rebuked kings:	21 Non permise che alcuno li opprimesse, anzi per causa loro punì dei re:
22 "Touch not my anointed, and to my prophets do no harm."	22 "Non toccate i miei consacrati, e non fate del male ai miei profeti".
23 Sing to the LORD, all the earth, announce his salvation, day after day	23 Canta al Signore, terra intera, annuncia di giorno in giorno la sua salvezza!
24 Tell his glory among the nations; among all peoples, his wondrous deeds.	24 Proclama fra le nazioni la sua gloria, fra tutti i popoli i suoi prodigi.
25 For great is the LORD and highly to be praised; and awesome is he, beyond all gods.	25 Sì, il Signore è grande e degnissimo di lode, tremendo sopra tutti gli dèi,
26 For all the gods of the nations are things of nought, but the LORD made the heavens.	26 poiché tutti gli dèi delle genti sono un nulla, mentre il Signore ha fatto i cieli.
27 Splendor and majesty go before him; praise and joy are in his holy place.	27 Splendore e maestà stanno davanti a lui, potenza e gioia nel suo santuario.
28 Give to the LORD, you families of nations, give to the LORD glory and praise;	28 Rendete al Signore, o famiglie dei popoli, rendete al Signore gloria e potenza!
29 Give to the LORD the glory due his name! Bring gifts, and enter his presence; worship the LORD in holy attire.	29 Rendete al Signore la gloria del suo nome, portate offerte e venite al suo cospetto! Adorate il Signore in ornamenti sacri!
30 Tremble before him, all the earth; he has made the world firm, not to be moved.	30 Trema davanti a lui, o terra tutta, egli rende stabile il mondo così che non vacilli.
31 Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice; let them say among the nations: The LORD is king.	31 Si rallegrino i cieli ed esulti la terra, e dicano fra le nazioni: "Il Signore regna!".
32 Let the sea and what fills it resound; let the plains rejoice and all that is in them!	32 Frema il mare e ciò che lo riempie, tripudi la campagna con quanto contiene!
33 Then shall all the trees of the forest exult before the LORD, for he comes: he comes to rule the earth.	33 Allora giubileranno gli alberi della foresta di fronte al Signore che viene, per giudicare la terra.
34 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his kindness endures forever;	34 Celebrate il Signore, perché egli è buono, perché eterna è la sua bontà.
35 And say, "Save us, O God, our savior, gather us and deliver us from the nations, That we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in praising you."	35 Dite: "Salvaci, o Dio della nostra salvezza; raccoglici e liberaci dalle nazioni, perché possiamo celebrare il santo tuo nome, e gloriarci della tua lode.
36 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, through all eternity! Let all the people say, Amen! Alleluia.	36 Benedetto il Signore Dio d'Israele di eternità in eternità". E tutto il popolo disse: "Amen, alleluia".
37 Then David left Asaph and his brethren there before the ark of the covenant of the LORD to minister before the ark regularly according to the daily ritual;	37 Quindi Davide lasciò lì, davanti all'arca dell'alleanza del Signore, Asaf ed i suoi fratelli, perché officiassero davanti all'arca continuamente secondo il rito quotidiano;
38 he also left there Obed-edom and sixty-eight of his brethren, including Obed-edom, son of Jeduthun, and Hosah, to be gatekeepers.	38 lasciò anche Obed-Edom con i suoi fratelli, in numero di sessantotto. Obed-Edom, figlio di Idutun, e Cosà come portieri.
39 But the priest Zadok and his priestly brethren he left before the Dwelling of the LORD on the high place at Gibeon,	39 Al sacerdote Zadòk insieme ai suoi fratelli sacerdoti affidò il servizio della dimora del Signore che era sull'altura di Gabaon,
40 to offer holocausts to the LORD on the altar of holocausts regularly, morning and evening, and to do all that is written in the law of the LORD which he has decreed for Israel.	40 perché offrissero olocausti al Signore sull'altare degli olocausti, continuamente mattina e sera, secondo quanto è scritto nella legge che il Signore aveva ordinato ad Israele.
41 With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the others who were chosen and designated by name to give thanks to the LORD, "because his kindness endures forever,"	41 Con loro erano Eman, Idutun e gli altri eletti che erano stati designati per nome per lodare il Signore, "perché eterna è la sua bontà".
42 with trumpets and cymbals for accompaniment, and instruments for the sacred chant. The sons of Jeduthun kept the gate.	42 Essi avevano trombe e cembali per suonare ed altri strumenti per il canto divino, mentre i figli di Idutun si trovavano alla porta.
43 Then all the people departed, each to his own home, and David returned to bless his household.	43 Infine tutto il popolo fece ritorno nella propria casa; e Davide ritornò per benedire la sua casa.
