1 למנצח על הגתית לבני קרח מזמור מה ידידות משכנותיך יהוה צבאות	1 [For the choirmaster On the . . . of Gath Of the sons of Korah Psalm] How lovely are your dwel ing-places, Yahweh Sabaoth.
2 נכספה וגם כלתה נפשי לחצרות יהוה לבי ובשרי ירננו אל אל חי	2 My whole being yearns and pines for Yahweh's courts, My heart and my body cry out for joy to theliving God.
3 גם צפור מצאה בית ודרור קן לה אשר שתה אפרחיה את מזבחותיך יהוה צבאות מלכי ואלהי	3 Even the sparrow has found a home, the swal ow a nest to place its young: your altars, YahwehSabaoth, my King and my God.
4 אשרי יושבי ביתך עוד יהללוך סלה	4 How blessed are those who live in your house; they shall praise you continual y. Pause
5 אשרי אדם עוז לו בך מסלות בלבבם	5 Blessed those who find their strength in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
6 עברי בעמק הבכא מעין ישיתוהו גם ברכות יעטה מורה	6 As they pass through the Val ey of the Balsam, they make there a water-hole, and -- a further blessing-- early rain fil s it.
7 ילכו מחיל אל חיל יראה אל אלהים בציון	7 They make their way from height to height, God shows himself to them in Zion.
8 יהוה אלהים צבאות שמעה תפלתי האזינה אלהי יעקב סלה	8 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, hear my prayer, listen, God of Jacob.
9 מגננו ראה אלהים והבט פני משיחך	9 God, our shield, look, and see the face of your anointed.
10 כי טוב יום בחצריך מאלף בחרתי הסתופף בבית אלהי מדור באהלי רשע	10 Better one day in your courts than a thousand at my own devices, to stand on the threshold of God'shouse than to live in the tents of the wicked.
11 כי שמש ומגן יהוה אלהים חן וכבוד יתן יהוה לא ימנע טוב להלכים בתמים	11 For Yahweh God is a rampart and shield, he gives grace and glory; Yahweh refuses nothing good tothose whose life is blameless.
12 יהוה צבאות אשרי אדם בטח בך	12 Yahweh Sabaoth, blessed is he who trusts in you.
