LXXDOUAI-RHEIMS
υπολαβων δε βαλδαδ ο σαυχιτης λεγει1 Then Baldad the Suhite answered, and said:
μεχρι τινος ου παυση επισχες ινα και αυτοι λαλησωμεν2 How long will you throw out words? understand first, and so let us speak.
δια τι ωσπερ τετραποδα σεσιωπηκαμεν εναντιον σου3 Why are we reputed as beasts, and counted vile before you?
κεχρηται σοι οργη τι γαρ εαν συ αποθανης αοικητος η υπ' ουρανον η καταστραφησεται ορη εκ θεμελιων4 Thou that destroyest thy soul in thy fury, shall the earth be forsaken for thee, and shall rocks be removed out of their place?
και φως ασεβων σβεσθησεται και ουκ αποβησεται αυτων η φλοξ5 Shall not the light of the wicked be extinguished, and the flame of his fire not shine?
το φως αυτου σκοτος εν διαιτη ο δε λυχνος επ' αυτω σβεσθησεται6 The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and the lamp that is over him, shall be put out.
θηρευσαισαν ελαχιστοι τα υπαρχοντα αυτου σφαλαι δε αυτου η βουλη7 The step of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down headlong.
εμβεβληται δε ο πους αυτου εν παγιδι εν δικτυω ελιχθειη8 For he hath thrust his feet into a net, and walketh in its meshes.
ελθοισαν δε επ' αυτον παγιδες κατισχυσει επ' αυτον διψωντας9 The sole of his foot shall be held in a snare, and thirst shall burn against him.
κεκρυπται εν τη γη σχοινιον αυτου και η συλλημψις αυτου επι τριβων10 A gin is hidden for him in the earth, and his trap upon the path.
κυκλω ολεσαισαν αυτον οδυναι πολλοι δε περι ποδας αυτου ελθοισαν εν λιμω στενω11 Fears shall terrify him on every side, and shall entangle his feet.
πτωμα δε αυτω ητοιμασται εξαισιον12 Let his strength be wasted with famine, and let hunger invade his ribs.
βρωθειησαν αυτου κλωνες ποδων κατεδεται δε τα ωραια αυτου θανατος13 Let it devour the beauty of his skin, let the firstborn death consume his arms.
εκραγειη δε εκ διαιτης αυτου ιασις σχοιη δε αυτον αναγκη αιτια βασιλικη14 Let his confidence be rooted out of his tabernacle, and let destruction tread upon him like a king.
κατασκηνωσει εν τη σκηνη αυτου εν νυκτι αυτου κατασπαρησονται τα ευπρεπη αυτου θειω15 Let the companions of him that is not, dwell in his tabernacle, let brimstone be sprinkled in his tent.
υποκατωθεν αι ριζαι αυτου ξηρανθησονται και επανωθεν επιπεσειται θερισμος αυτου16 Let his roots be dried up beneath, and his harvest destroyed above.
το μνημοσυνον αυτου απολοιτο εκ γης και υπαρχει ονομα αυτω επι προσωπον εξωτερω17 Let the memory of him perish from the earth and let not his name be renowned in the streets.
απωσειεν αυτον εκ φωτος εις σκοτος18 He shall drive him out of light into darkness, and shall remove him out of the world.
ουκ εσται επιγνωστος εν λαω αυτου ουδε σεσωσμενος εν τη υπ' ουρανον ο οικος αυτου αλλ' εν τοις αυτου ζησονται ετεροι19 His seed shall not subsist, nor his offspring among his people, nor any remnants in his country.
επ' αυτω εστεναξαν εσχατοι πρωτους δε εσχεν θαυμα20 They that come after him shall be astonished at his day, and horror shall fall upon them that went before.
ουτοι εισιν οικοι αδικων ουτος δε ο τοπος των μη ειδοτων τον κυριον21 These men are the tabernacles of the wicked, and this the place of him that knoweth not God.
