KING JAMES BIBLENEW AMERICAN BIBLE
And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:1 Then I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven wrapped in a cloud, with a halo around his head; his face was like the sun and his feet were like pillars of fire.
And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,2 In his hand he held a small scroll that had been opened. He placed his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land,
And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.3 and then he cried out in a loud voice as a lion roars. When he cried out, the seven thunders raised their voices, too.
And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.4 When the seven thunders had spoken, I was about to write it down; but I heard a voice from heaven say, "Seal up what the seven thunders have spoken, but do not write it down."
And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,5 Then the angel I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven
And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:6 and swore by the one who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and earth and sea and all that is in them, "There shall be no more delay.
But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.7 At the time when you hear the seventh angel blow his trumpet, the mysterious plan of God shall be fulfilled, as he promised to his servants the prophets."
And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.8 Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, "Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land."
And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.9 So I went up to the angel and told him to give me the small scroll. He said to me, "Take and swallow it. It will turn your stomach sour, but in your mouth it will taste as sweet as honey."
And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.10 I took the small scroll from the angel's hand and swallowed it. In my mouth it was like sweet honey, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour.
And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.11 Then someone said to me, "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings."
