1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,	1 - Dopo aver Iddio in antico, a più riprese e in molte guise, parlato ai nostri padri per mezzo dei profeti,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;	2 in questi ultimi tempi parlò a noi a mezzo del Figlio suo, ch'egli costituì erede di ogni cosa, per mezzo del quale creò anche i secoli.
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;	3 Questo Figlio, essendo il riflesso della gloria di Dio e l'impronta della sua sostanza, e tutto sostenendo colla parola della sua potenza, dopo aver compiuto la purificazione dei peccati, si assise alla destra della Maestà divina nel più alto de' cieli,
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.	4 diventato così tanto superiore agli angeli quanto più alto nome ereditò in comparazione di loro.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?	5 Difatti, a qual mai degli angeli disse Iddio: «Figlio mio sei tu, oggi ti ho generato?» e di nuovo: «Io sarò a lui come padre, ed egli sarà a me come figlio?».
6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.	6 E quando altra volta introduce il primogenito nel mondo dice: «E s'inchinino a lui tutti gli angeli di Dio».
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.	7 E rispetto agli angeli dice: «Colui che fa suoi angeli i vènti e suoi servi i fuochi fiammanti».
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.	8 Invece rispetto al figlio: «Il tuo trono, o Dio, è eterno» e: «La verga della rettitudine è scettro del tuo regno»; e:
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.	9 «Tu hai amato la giustizia e odiato la iniquità; per questo ti unse Iddio, il Dio tuo, dell'olio dell'allegrezza ben più che i tuoi compagni»;
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:	10 e: «Tu da principio, o Signore, hai fondato la terra, e opera delle tue mani sono i cieli;
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;	11 essi periranno, ma tu rimarrai, tutti invecchieranno come un vestito,
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.	12 tu li rivolterai come un mantello, ed essi saranno rivoltati, ma tu sei sempre lo stesso e i tuoi anni non verranno meno».
13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?	13 A qual degli angeli disse mai: «Siedi alla mia destra infino a che io faccia de' tuoi nemici lo sgabello de' tuoi piedi?».
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?	14 Non sono tutti spiriti al servizio [di Dio], inviati a cagione di quelli che devono ricevere l'eredità della salvezza?
