1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,	1 - Paolo, servo di Cristo Gesù, chiamato apostolo, e messo a parte per [annunziare] il Vangelo di Dio,
2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)	2 ch'egli aveva innanzi promesso a mezzo dei suoi profeti nelle sante Scritture,
3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;	3 relativamente a suo Figlio, - nato dal seme di David secondo la carne,
4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:	4 ma dichiarato in modo potente Figlio di Dio, secondo lo spirito di santità, mediante la risurrezione dei morti, - Gesù Cristo il nostro Signore,
5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:	5 per opera del quale noi abbiamo ricevuto la grazia e la missione di indurre, nel nome di Lui, all'obbedienza della fede tutti i Gentili,
6 Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:	6 fra i quali ci siete anche voi, chiamati ad essere di Gesù Cristo,
7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.	7 a tutti quanti siete in Roma, amati da Dio, chiamati santi, grazia a voi e pace, da Dio nostro padre e dal Signore Gesù Cristo.
8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.	8 Prima di tutto ringrazio il mio Dio a mezzo di Gesù Cristo a motivo di voi tutti, poichè la vostra fede si annunzia in tutto il mondo.
9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;	9 Mi è testimone Iddio, a cui io rendo culto nel mio spirito propagando la buona novella relativa al Figlio di Lui, che non tralascio mai di far memoria di voi,
10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.	10 chiedendo nelle mie preghiere se mai una buona volta, io possa, nella volontà di Dio, trovare l'occasione di venir da voi.
11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;	11 Giacchè vivamente bramo di vedervi, per comunicarvi un po' di grazia spirituale, sì da esserne fortificati,
12 That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.	12 o meglio, per essere, in mezzo a voi, insieme confortati per la reciproca fede vostra e mia.
13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.	13 E non voglio ignoriate, o fratelli, che molte volte mi ero proposto di venir da voi, (e ne sono stato finora impedito), per raccogliere qualche frutto anche tra voi, come ho fatto tra gli altri Gentili.
14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.	14 A Greci come a Barbari, a sapienti come ad ignoranti, io sono debitore;
15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.	15 tanto è vivo il desiderio, (quanto a me) di annunziare il Vangelo anche a voi in Roma.
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.	16 Giacchè io non mi vergogno del Vangelo; chè esso è il potere di Dio per dar la salute a chi crede, al Giudeo prima poi al Greco;
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.	17 giacchè vi si rivela la giustizia di Dio proveniente dalla fede e che conduce alla fede, conforme sta scritto: «Il giusto vive di fede».
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;	18 Poichè l'ira di Dio si manifesta dal cielo contro ogni empietà e ingiustizia degli uomini, che soffocano la verità nell'ingiustizia;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.	19 infatti quel che si può conoscere di Dio è in essi manifesto; Dio stesso lo ha loro manifestato;
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:	20 poichè le perfezioni invisibili di Lui fin dalla creazione del mondo, comprendendosi dalle cose fatte, si rendono visibili, quali la sua eterna potenza e la sua divinità; laonde essi sono inescusabili,
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.	21 perchè avendo conosciuto Iddio non l'hanno glorificato come Dio, nè l'hanno ringraziato; ma s'invanirono nei loro ragionamenti, e fu avvolto di tenebre il loro stolto cuore.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,	22 Dicendo di esser sapienti divennero stolti,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.	23 e scambiarono la gloria dell'incorruttibile Iddio nella riproduzione di un'immagine di corruttibile uomo, e di volatili e di quadrupedi e di rettili.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:	24 Perciò li abbandonò Dio, nelle concupiscenze dei loro cuori, alla sconcezza del disonorare tra loro i loro corpi,
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.	25 essi che scambiarono la verità di Dio con la menzogna, e venerarono e resero culto alla creatura invece che al Creatore, il quale è benedetto ne' secoli, così sia!
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:	26 Per questo li abbandonò Iddio a passioni d'infamia, poichè le loro femmine scambiarono l'uso naturale in quello contro natura:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.	27 e similmente i maschi, lasciato l'uso naturale della donna, si accesero nel desiderio gli uni degli altri, atti turpi operando maschi con maschi, e ricevendo in se stessi la mercede che si conveniva della loro aberrazione.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;	28 E poichè non si diedero cura di conoscere Dio, li abbandonò Iddio ai reprobi sentimenti: far ciò che non si deve,
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,	29 ripieni d'ogni ingiustizia, malvagità, fornicazione, avidità, malizia; pieni d'invidia, di omicidio, di contesa, d'inganno, di malignità; sussurroni,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,	30 maldicenti, in odio a Dio, violenti, superbi, millantatori, inventori di male azioni, disobbedienti ai genitori,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:	31 insensati, disamorati, sleali, incapaci di sentir compassione;
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.	32 i quali, pur avendo conosciuto la giusta sentenza di Dio, che chi fa tali cose è degno di morte, non solo le fanno, ma approvano chi le fa.
