1 And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.	1 Jésus, étant parti de là, vint aux confins de la Judée, au delà du Jourdain; et de nouveau les foules s'assemblèrent auprès de Lui, et, selon Sa coutume, Il les instruisit de nouveau.
2 And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.	2 Et s'approchant, les pharisiens Lui demandèrent, pour Le tenter: Est-il permis à un homme de renvoyer sa femme?
3 And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?	3 Mais Il leur répondit: Que vous a ordonné Moïse?
4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.	4 Ils dirent: Moïse a permis d'écrire un acte de divorce, et de la renvoyer.
5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.	5 Jésus leur répondit: C'est à cause de la dureté de votre coeur qu'il a écrit pour vous cette ordonnance.
6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.	6 Mais au commencement de la création, Dieu fit un homme et une femme.
7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;	7 C'est pourquoi l'homme quittera son père et sa mère, et il s'attachera à sa femme,
8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.	8 et ils seront deux dans une seule chair. Ainsi ils ne sont plus deux, mais une seule chair.
9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.	9 Ce que Dieu a uni, que l'homme ne le sépare donc pas.
10 And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.	10 Dans la maison, Ses disciples L'interrogèrent encore sur le même sujet.
11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.	11 Et Il leur dit: Quiconque renvoie sa femme et en épouse une autre, commet un adultère à l'égard de celle-là.
12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.	12 Et si une femme renvoie son mari et en épouse un autre, elle commet un adultère.
13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.	13 On Lui présentait de petits enfants, afin qu'Il les touchât; mais les disciples repoussaient durement ceux qui les présentaient.
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.	14 Jésus, les voyant, en fut indigné, et leur dit: Laissez venir à Moi les petits enfants, et ne les empêchez pas; car le royaume de Dieu est à ceux qui leur ressemblent.
15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.	15 En vérité, Je vous le dis, quiconque ne recevra pas le royaume de Dieu comme un petit enfant, n'y entrera point.
16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.	16 Et les embrassant, et imposant les mains sur eux, Il les bénissait.
17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?	17 Comme Il Se mettait en chemin, quelqu'un accourut, et, fléchissant le genou devant Lui, il Lui demandait: Bon Maître, que ferai-je pour acquérir la vie éternelle?
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.	18 Jésus lui dit: Pourquoi M'appelles-tu bon? Personne n'est bon, si ce n'est Dieu seul.
19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.	19 Tu connais les commandements: Ne commets pas l'adultère; Ne tue pas; Ne dérobe pas; Ne porte pas de faux témoignage; Ne fais tort à personne; Honore ton père et ta mère.
20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.	20 Il lui répondit: Maître, J'ai observé toutes ces choses depuis ma jeunesse.
21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.	21 Jésus, l'ayant regardé, l'aima, et lui dit: Il te manque une chose; va, vends tout ce que tu as et donne-le aux pauvres, et tu auras un trésor dans le Ciel; puis viens et suis-Moi.
22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.	22 Mais lui, affligé de cette parole, s'en alla triste, car il avait de grands biens.
23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!	23 Alors Jésus, regardant autour de Lui, dit à Ses disciples: Qu'il est difficile à ceux qui ont des richesses d'entrer dans le royaume de Dieu!
24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!	24 Les disciples étaient stupéfaits de ces paroles. Mais Jésus, reprenant, leur dit: Mes petits enfants, qu'il est difficile à ceux qui se confient dans les richesses d'entrer dans le royaume de Dieu!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.	25 Il est plus facile à un chameau de passer par le trou d'une aiguille, qu'à un riche d'entrer dans le royaume de Dieu.
26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?	26 Ils furent encore plus étonnés, et ils se disaient les uns les autres: Et qui donc peut être sauvé?
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.	27 Jésus, les regardant, dit: Cela est impossible aux hommes, mais non pas à Dieu; car tout est possible à Dieu.
28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.	28 Alors Pierre se mit à Lui dire: Nous, voici que nous avons tout quitté, et que nous Vous avons suivi.
29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,	29 Jésus répondit: En vérité, Je vous le dis, personne ne quittera sa maison, ou ses frères, ou ses soeurs, ou son père, ou sa mère, ou ses enfants, ou ses champs, pour Moi et pour l'Evangile,
30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.	30 qu'il ne reçoive cent fois autant, maintenant, en ce temps présent, des maisons, des frères, des soeurs, des mères, des enfants et des champs, avec des persécutions, et, dans le siècle futur, la vie éternelle.
31 But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.	31 Mais beaucoup des premiers seront les derniers, et beaucoup des derniers les premiers.
32 And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,	32 Or ils étaient en chemin pour monter à Jérusalem; et Jésus marchait devant eux, et ils étaient troublés, et ils Le suivaient avec crainte. Et prenant de nouveau les douze à part, Il Se mit à leur dire ce qui devait Lui arriver:
33 Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:	33 Voici que nous montons à Jérusalem, et le Fils de l'homme sera livré aux princes des prêtres, et aux scribes, et aux anciens; ils Le condamneront à mort, et ils Le livreront aux gentils;
34 And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.	34 et ils L'insulteront, et cracheront sur Lui, et Le flagelleront, et Le feront mourir; et Il ressuscitera le troisième jour.
35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.	35 Alors Jacques et Jean, fils de Zébédée, s'approchèrent de Lui, en disant: Maître, nous voulons que Vous fassiez pour nous tout ce que nous demanderons.
36 And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?	36 Mais Il leur dit: Que voulez-vous que Je fasse pour vous?
37 They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.	37 Et ils dirent: Accordez-nous d'être assis, l'un à Votre droite, et l'autre à Votre gauche, dans Votre gloire.
38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?	38 Mais Jésus leur répondit: Vous ne savez pas ce que vous demandez. Pouvez-vous boire le calice que Je dois boire, ou être baptisé du baptême dont Je dois être baptisé?
39 And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:	39 Ils lui dirent: Nous le pouvons. Mais Jésus leur dit: Vous boirez, en effet, le calice que Je dois boire, et vous serez baptisés du baptême dont Je dois être baptisé;
40 But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.	40 mais, quant à être assis à Ma droite ou à Ma gauche, il ne M'appartient pas de vous le donner à vous, mais à ceux pour lesquels cela a été préparé.
41 And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.	41 Et les dix autres, entendant cela, commencèrent à s'indigner contre Jacques et Jean.
42 But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.	42 Mais Jésus, les appelant, leur dit: Vous savez que ceux qui sont regardés comme les chefs des nations les dominent, et que leurs princes ont puissance sur elles.
43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:	43 Il n'en est pas de même parmi vous; mais quiconque voudra devenir le plus grand, sera votre serviteur;
44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.	44 et quiconque voudra être le premier parmi vous, sera le serviteur de tous.
45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.	45 Car le Fils de l'homme Lui-même n'est pas venu pour être servi, mais pour servir, et pour donner Sa vie comme la rançon d'un grand nombre.
46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.	46 Ils vinrent ensuite à Jéricho; et, comme Il partait de Jéricho avec Ses disciples et une foule considérable, le fils de Timée, Bartimée l'aveugle, était assis sur le bord du chemin, demandant l'aumône.
47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.	47 Ayant appris que c'était Jésus de Nazareth, il se mit à crier et à dire: Jésus, Fils de David, ayez pitié de moi.
48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.	48 Et beaucoup le menaçaient pour qu'il se tût; mais il criait bien plus fort: Fils de David, ayez pitié de moi.
49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.	49 Alors Jésus, S'arrêtant, ordonna qu'on l'appelât. Et ils appelèrent l'aveugle, en lui disant: Aie bon courage; lève-toi, Il t'appelle.
50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.	50 Ayant jeté son manteau, il vint en sautant vers Jésus.
51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.	51 Et Jésus, prenant la parole, lui dit: Que veux-tu que Je te fasse? L'aveugle Lui répondit: Rabboni, que je voie.
52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.	52 Jésus lui dit: Va, ta foi t'a sauvé. Et aussitôt il vit, et il suivait Jésus sur le chemin.
