KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.	1 Partant de là, il vient dans le territoire de la Judée et au-delà du Jourdain, et de nouveau les foules serassemblent auprès de lui et, selon sa coutume, de nouveau il les enseignait.
2 And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.	2 S'approchant, des Pharisiens lui demandaient: "Est-il permis à un mari de répudier sa femme?" C'étaitpour le mettre à l'épreuve.
3 And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?	3 Il leur répondit: "Qu'est-ce que Moïse vous a prescrit" --
4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.	4 "Moïse, dirent-ils, a permis de rédiger un acte de divorce et de répudier."
5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.	5 Alors Jésus leur dit: "C'est en raison de votre dureté de coeur qu'il a écrit pour vous cetteprescription.
6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.	6 Mais dès l'origine de la création Il les fit homme et femme.
7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;	7 Ainsi donc l'homme quittera son père et sa mère,
8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.	8 et les deux ne feront qu'une seule chair. Ainsi ils ne sont plus deux, mais une seule chair.
9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.	9 Eh bien! ce que Dieu a uni, l'homme ne doit point le séparer."
10 And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.	10 Rentrés à la maison, les disciples l'interrogeaient de nouveau sur ce point.
11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.	11 Et il leur dit: "Quiconque répudie sa femme et en épouse une autre, commet un adultère à son égard;
12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.	12 et si une femme répudie son mari et en épouse un autre, elle commet un adultère."
13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.	13 On lui présentait des petits enfants pour qu'il les touchât, mais les disciples les rabrouèrent.
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.	14 Ce que voyant, Jésus se fâcha et leur dit: "Laissez les petits enfants venir à moi; ne les empêchezpas, car c'est à leurs pareils qu'appartient le Royaume de Dieu.
15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.	15 En vérité je vous le dis: quiconque n'accueille pas le Royaume de Dieu en petit enfant, n'y entrerapas."
16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.	16 Puis il les embrassa et les bénit en leur imposant les mains.
17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?	17 Il se mettait en route quand un homme accourut et, s'agenouillant devant lui, il l'interrogeait: "Bonmaître, que dois-je faire pour avoir en héritage la vie éternelle?"
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.	18 Jésus lui dit: "Pourquoi m'appelles-tu bon? Nul n'est bon que Dieu seul.
19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.	19 Tu connais les commandements: Ne tue pas, ne commets pas d'adultère, ne vole pas, ne porte pas defaux témoignage, ne fais pas de tort, honore ton père et ta mère."
20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.	20 "Maître --, lui dit-il, tout cela, je l'ai observé dès ma jeunesse."
21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.	21 Alors Jésus fixa sur lui son regard et l'aima. Et il lui dit: "Une seule chose te manque: va, ce que tuas, vends-le et donne-le aux pauvres, et tu auras un trésor dans le ciel; puis, viens, suis-moi."
22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.	22 Mais lui, à ces mots, s'assombrit et il s'en alla contristé, car il avait de grands biens.
23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!	23 Alors Jésus, regardant autour de lui, dit à ses disciples: "Comme il sera difficile à ceux qui ont desrichesses d'entrer dans le Royaume de Dieu!"
24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!	24 Les disciples étaient stupéfaits de ces paroles. Mais Jésus reprit et leur dit: "Mes enfants, comme ilest difficile d'entrer dans le Royaume de Dieu!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.	25 Il est plus facile à un chameau de passer par le trou de l'aiguille qu'à un riche d'entrer dans leRoyaume de Dieu!"
26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?	26 Ils restèrent interdits à l'excès et se disaient les uns aux autres: "Et qui peut être sauvé?"
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.	27 Fixant sur eux son regard, Jésus dit: "Pour les hommes, impossible, mais non pour Dieu: car tout estpossible pour Dieu."
28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.	28 Pierre se mit à lui dire: "Voici que nous, nous avons tout laissé et nous t'avons suivi."
29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,	29 Jésus déclara: "En vérité, je vous le dis, nul n'aura laissé maison, frères, soeurs, mère, père, enfantsou champs à cause de moi et à cause de l'Evangile,
30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.	30 qui ne reçoive le centuple dès maintenant, au temps présent, en maisons, frères, soeurs, mères,enfants et champs, avec des persécutions, et, dans le monde à venir, la vie éternelle.
31 But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.	31 Beaucoup de premiers seront derniers et les derniers seront premiers."
32 And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,	32 Ils étaient en route, montant à Jérusalem; et Jésus marchait devant eux, et ils étaient dans la stupeur,et ceux qui suivaient étaient effrayés. Prenant de nouveau les Douze avec lui, il se mit à leur dire ce qui allait luiarriver:
33 Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:	33 "Voici que nous montons à Jérusalem, et le Fils de l'homme sera livré aux grands prêtres et auxscribes; ils le condamneront à mort et le livreront aux païens,
34 And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.	34 ils le bafoueront, cracheront sur lui, le flagelleront et le tueront, et après trois jours il ressuscitera."
35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.	35 Jacques et Jean, les fils de Zébédée, avancent vers lui et lui disent: "Maître, nous voulons que tufasses pour nous ce que nous allons te demander."
36 And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?	36 Il leur dit: "Que voulez-vous que je fasse pour vous" --
37 They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.	37 "Accorde-nous, lui dirent-ils, de siéger, l'un à ta droite et l'autre à ta gauche, dans ta gloire."
38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?	38 Jésus leur dit: "Vous ne savez pas ce que vous demandez. Pouvez-vous boire la coupe que je vaisboire et être baptisés du baptême dont je vais être baptisé?"
39 And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:	39 Ils lui dirent: "Nous le pouvons." Jésus leur dit: "La coupe que je vais boire, vous la boirez, et lebaptême dont je vais être baptisé, vous en serez baptisés;
40 But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.	40 quant à siéger à ma droite ou à ma gauche, il ne m'appartient pas de l'accorder, mais c'est pour ceuxà qui cela a été destiné."
41 And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.	41 Les dix autres, qui avaient entendu, se mirent à s'indigner contre Jacques et Jean.
42 But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.	42 Les ayant appelés près de lui, Jésus leur dit: "Vous savez que ceux qu'on regarde comme les chefsdes nations dominent sur elles en maîtres et que les grands leur font sentir leur pouvoir.
43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:	43 Il ne doit pas en être ainsi parmi vous: au contraire, celui qui voudra devenir grand parmi vous, seravotre serviteur,
44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.	44 et celui qui voudra être le premier parmi vous, sera l'esclave de tous.
45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.	45 Aussi bien, le Fils de l'homme lui-même n'est pas venu pour être servi, mais pour servir et donner savie en rançon pour une multitude."
46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.	46 Ils arrivent à Jéricho. Et comme il sortait de Jéricho avec ses disciples et une foule considérable, lefils de Timée (Bartimée), un mendiant aveugle, était assis au bord du chemin.
47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.	47 Quand il apprit que c'était Jésus le Nazarénien, il se mit à crier: "Fils de David, Jésus, aie pitié demoi!"
48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.	48 Et beaucoup le rabrouaient pour lui imposer silence, mais lui criait de plus belle: "Fils de David, aiepitié de moi!"
49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.	49 Jésus s'arrêta et dit: "Appelez-le." On appelle l'aveugle en lui disant: "Aie confiance! lève-toi, ilt'appelle."
50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.	50 Et lui, rejetant son manteau, bondit et vint à Jésus.
51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.	51 Alors Jésus lui adressa la parole: "Que veux-tu que je fasse pour toi?" L'aveugle lui répondit:"Rabbouni, que je recouvre la vue!"
52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.	52 Jésus lui dit: "Va, ta foi t'a sauvé." Et aussitôt il recouvra la vue et il cheminait à sa suite.
