1 These also are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that the LORD spake with Moses in mount Sinai.	1 Esta era la descendencia de Aarón y de Moisés, cuando el Señor habló a Moisés sobre la montaña del Sinaí:
2 And these are the names of the sons of Aaron; Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.	2 Los nombres de los hijos de Aarón eran los siguientes: Nadab –el primogénito– y Abihú, Eleazar e Itamar.
3 These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests which were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest's office.	3 Estos eran los nombres de los hijos de Aarón, los sacerdotes que recibieron la unción y la investidura para ejercer el sacerdocio.
4 And Nadab and Abihu died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children: and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest's office in the sight of Aaron their father.	4 Nadab y Abihú murieron en la presencia del Señor, cuando presentaron ante él un fuego profano, en el desierto del Sinaí. Y como no tenían hijos, los que ejercieron el sacerdocio delante de Aarón, su padre fueron Eleazar e Itamar.
5 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,	5 El Señor dijo a Moisés:
6 Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.	6 Manda a la tribu de Leví que se acerque, y tú la pondrás a disposición del sacerdote Aarón, para servirlo.
7 And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.	7 Ellos realizarán tareas para él y para toda la comunidad de Israel, delante de la Carpa del Encuentro, encargándose del servicio de la Morada.
8 And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.	8 Tendrán a su cargo todo el mobiliario de la Carpa del Encuentro y realizarán tareas para los israelitas, encargándose del servicio de la Morada.
9 And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of Israel.	9 Tú pondrás a los levitas a las órdenes de Aarón y de sus hijos: así ellos estarán dedicados a él exclusivamente, de parte de los israelitas.
10 And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, and they shall wait on their priest's office: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.	10 A Aarón y a sus hijos, en cambio, les encargarás que ejerzan las funciones sacerdotales. Si se acerca un extraño, será castigado con la muerte.
11 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,	11 El Señor dijo a Moisés:
12 And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of all the firstborn that openeth the matrix among the children of Israel: therefore the Levites shall be mine;	12 Entre todos los israelitas, en lugar de los primogénitos –de aquellos que abren el seno materno– yo elijo a los descendientes de Leví. Los levitas me pertenecen,
13 Because all the firstborn are mine; for on the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast: mine shall they be: I am the LORD.	13 porque todo primogénito me pertenece. Cuando exterminé a todos los primogénitos de Egipto, consagré para mí a todos los primogénitos de Israel, hombres y animales, a fin de que fueran míos. Yo soy el Señor.
14 And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,	14 El Señor dijo a Moisés en el desierto del Sinaí:
15 Number the children of Levi after the house of their fathers, by their families: every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.	15 Inscribe en un registro, por familias y por clanes, a todos los levitas varones que tengan más de un mes.
16 And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD, as he was commanded.	16 Moisés los registró, según la orden que había recibido del Señor.
17 And these were the sons of Levi by their names; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.	17 Los nombres de los hijos de Leví eran Gersón, Quehat y Merarí.
18 And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families; Libni, and Shimei.	18 Los nombres de los hijos de Gersón, por clanes, eran Ligní y Semei;
19 And the sons of Kohath by their families; Amram, and Izehar, Hebron, and Uzziel.	19 los hijos de Quehat, por clanes, eran Amram, Ishar, Hebrón y Oziel;
20 And the sons of Merari by their families; Mahli, and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to the house of their fathers.	20 y los hijos de Merarí, por clanes, eran Majlí y Musí. Los clanes de los levitas, repartidos por familias, eran los siguientes:
21 Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimites: these are the families of the Gershonites.	21 De Gersón procedían el clan de los libnitas y el clan de los semeítas: estos eran los clanes de los gersonitas.
22 Those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, even those that were numbered of them were seven thousand and five hundred.	22 Los registrados, contando todos los varones de un mes en adelante, eran en total 7.500 hombres.
23 The families of the Gershonites shall pitch behind the tabernacle westward.	23 Los clanes de los gersonitas acampaban detrás de la Morada, hacia el oeste.
24 And the chief of the house of the father of the Gershonites shall be Eliasaph the son of Lael.	24 El jefe de la casa paterna de los gersonitas era Eliasaf, hijo de Lael.
25 And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tabernacle of the congregation shall be the tabernacle, and the tent, the covering thereof, and the hanging for the door of the tabernacle of the congregation,	25 Los gersonitas tenían a su cargo, en la Carpa del Encuentro, la Morada y la Carpa, su toldo y el tapiz que estaba a la entrada de la Carpa del Encuentro;
26 And the hangings of the court, and the curtain for the door of the court, which is by the tabernacle, and by the altar round about, and the cords of it for all the service thereof.	26 las cortinas del atrio y el cortinado para la entrada del atrio que rodea la Morada, las cuerdas y el altar; todo el servicio relacionado con esos objetos.
27 And of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izeharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites: these are the families of the Kohathites.	27 De Quehat procedían el clan de los amritas, el clan de los isharitas, el clan de los hebronitas y el clan de los ozielitas: estos eran los clanes de los quehatitas
28 In the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were eight thousand and six hundred, keeping the charge of the sanctuary.	28 Contando todos los varones de un mes en adelante, eran en total 8.300 hombres. Ellos tenían a su cargo el servicio del Santuario.
29 The families of the sons of Kohath shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle southward.	29 Los clanes de los quehatitas acampaban en el lado sur de la Morada.
30 And the chief of the house of the father of the families of the Kohathites shall be Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.	30 El jefe de la casa paterna de los clanes de los quehatitas era Elisafán, hijo de Oziel.
31 And their charge shall be the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary wherewith they minister, and the hanging, and all the service thereof.	31 Ellos tenían a su cargo el Arca, la mesa, el candelabro, los altares, los utensilios sagrados que se usaban en el culto, el cortinado que dividía el Santuario y todo el servicio relacionado con esos objetos.
32 And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall be chief over the chief of the Levites, and have the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary.	32 El jefe supremo de todos los levitas era Eleazar, hijo del sacerdote Aarón, que tenía la supervisión de todos los que realizaban las tareas del Santuario.
33 Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites, and the family of the Mushites: these are the families of Merari.	33 De Merarí procedían el clan de los majilitas y el clan de los musitas: estos eran los clanes de los meraritas.
34 And those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand and two hundred.	34 Los registrados, contando todos los que tenían de un mes en adelante, eran en total 6.200 hombres.
35 And the chief of the house of the father of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail: these shall pitch on the side of the tabernacle northward.	35 El jefe de la casa paterna de los clanes de los meraritas era Suriel, hijo de Abijail. Estos acampaban al norte de la Morada.
36 And under the custody and charge of the sons of Merari shall be the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the vessels thereof, and all that serveth thereto,	36 Los hijos de Merarí tenían a su cargo el cuidado de los bastidores de la Morada, sus travesaños, sus postes, sus bases y todos sus enseres; todo el servicio relacionado con esos objetos.
37 And the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords.	37 También debían ocuparse de las columnas que rodean el atrio, de sus bases, sus estacas y sus cuerdas.
38 But those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, shall be Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.	38 Al este, frente a la Morada, delante de la Carpa del Encuentro, acampaban Moisés, Aarón y sus hijos, que realizaban las tareas del Santuario, en favor de los israelitas. Cualquier extraño que se acercara debía ser castigado con la muerte.
39 All that were numbered of the Levites, which Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of the LORD, throughout their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand.	39 Los levitas inscritos –los varones mayores de un mes, que Moisés y Aarón registraron por familias, según la orden del Señor– fueron en total 22.000 hombres.
40 And the LORD said unto Moses, Number all the firstborn of the males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.	40 El Señor dijo a Moisés: Realiza un censo de todos los primogénitos varones entre los israelitas, de la edad de un mes en adelante, llevando cuenta de sus nombres.
41 And thou shalt take the Levites for me (I am the LORD) instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the children of Israel.	41 Luego aparta para mía a los levitas –porque yo soy el Señor– en lugar de todos los primogénitos de los israelitas, y aparta también el ganado de los levitas, en lugar de todos los primogénitos del ganado de los israelitas.
42 And Moses numbered, as the LORD commanded him, all the firstborn among the children of Israel.	42 Entones Moisés hizo el censo de todos los primogénitos entre los israelitas, como el Señor se lo había ordenado.
43 And all the firstborn males by the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and threescore and thirteen.	43 Los primogénitos varones de un mes en adelante que fueron registrados eran en total 22.273 hombres.
44 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,	44 Luego el Señor dijo a Moisés:
45 Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am the LORD.	45 Aparta a los levitas en lugar de todos los primogénitos israelitas, y aparta también el ganado de los israelitas. Los levitas serán para mí: yo soy el Señor.
46 And for those that are to be redeemed of the two hundred and threescore and thirteen of the firstborn of the children of Israel, which are more than the Levites;	46 Y como precio del rescate por los doscientos setenta y tres primogénitos israelitas que exceden el número de los levitas,
47 Thou shalt even take five shekels apiece by the poll, after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them: (the shekel is twenty gerahs:)	47 toma cinco siclos por cabeza –en siclos del Santuario, teniendo en cuenta que cada siclo equivale a veinte gueras–
48 And thou shalt give the money, wherewith the odd number of them is to be redeemed, unto Aaron and to his sons.	48 y entrega ese dinero a Aarón y a sus hijos, como precio de rescate por la diferencia.
49 And Moses took the redemption money of them that were over and above them that were redeemed by the Levites:	49 Moisés tomó el dinero del rescate por aquellos primogénitos, que excedían a los rescatados por los levitas,
50 Of the firstborn of the children of Israel took he the money; a thousand three hundred and threescore and five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:	50 recibió el dinero de los primogénitos israelitas –1.365 siclos, en siclos del Santuario–
51 And Moses gave the money of them that were redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.	51 y entregó el dinero del rescate a Aarón y a sus hijos, según la orden que Moisés había recibido del Señor.
