Hosea 5

1 Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.	1 Écoutez ceci, prêtres; sois attentive, maison d’Israël, et toi maison du roi, prête l’oreille, car cette sentence vous concerne: Vous avez été un piège à Mispa et un filet tendu sur le Thabor.
2 And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though I have been a rebuker of them all.	2 Ce sont eux qui ont creusé la fosse de Chittim, et je vais tous les corriger.
3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israel is defiled.	3 Je connais Éphraïm, et Israël ne m’est pas inconnu. Oui, tu t’es prostitué Éphraïm, et toi Israël, tu t’es souillé.
4 They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.	4 Leurs fautes sont telles qu’ils ne peuvent revenir vers leur Dieu. Un esprit de prostitution les possède et ils ne connaissent pas Yahvé.
5 And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity; Judah also shall fall with them.	5 L’orgueil d’Israël témoigne contre lui, Israël et Éphraïm sont en crise à cause de leur péché, et Juda est en crise avec eux.
6 They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.	6 Ils iront chercher Yahvé avec leurs brebis et leurs bœufs, mais ils ne le trouveront pas, car il s’est retiré d’eux.
7 They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.	7 Ils ont trahi Yahvé, ils ont enfanté des bâtards: le destructeur peut les dévorer, eux et leurs champs.
8 Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Beth-aven, after thee, O Benjamin.	8 Sonnez du cor à Guibéa et de la trompette à Rama, donnez l’alerte à Beth-Aven. On est sur tes pas, Benjamin!
9 Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be.	9 Éphraïm connaîtra une ruine au jour de son châtiment, et je fais savoir aux tribus d’Israël que la décision est prise.
10 The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.	10 Les chefs de Juda sont comme ceux qui déplacent les bornes, je déverserai sur eux ma colère comme de l’eau.
11 Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.	11 Éphraïm est un oppresseur, il dicte des sentences injustes, il trouve plaisir à courir après le mensonge.
12 Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.	12 C’est pourquoi je veux être comme la mite pour Éphraïm, comme une carie dans la maison de Juda.
13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.	13 Quand Éphraïm a vu sa maladie, et Juda son ulcère, Éphraïm est allé en Assyrie, il a envoyé des messagers vers le grand roi. Mais il ne sera pas capable de vous guérir, ni d’apporter un remède à votre ulcère.
14 For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.	14 Oui, je serai comme un lion pour Éphraïm, comme un jeune lion pour la maison de Juda. Je déchirerai et je m’en irai, j’emporterai ma proie et personne ne délivrera.
15 I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.	15 Je partirai et je rentrerai chez moi jusqu’à ce qu’ils reconnaissent leurs fautes et qu’ils cherchent ma face. Dans leur détresse ils me rechercheront:
