Ezekiel 3

1 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.	1 Mi disse: "Figlio dell'uomo, mangia ciò che stai vedendo, mangia questo rotolo, poi va', parla alla casa d'Israele".
2 So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.	2 Aprii la bocca e mangiai quel rotolo.
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.	3 Poi mi disse: "Figlio dell'uomo, ciba il tuo ventre e riempi le tue viscere di questo rotolo che ti do". Lo mangiai e fu in bocca dolce come il miele.
4 And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.	4 Poi mi disse: "Figlio dell'uomo, va' alla casa d'Israele e riferisci ad essi la mia parola.
5 For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;	5 Non sei inviato a un popolo di linguaggio oscuro e di lingua straniera, ma alla casa d'Israele!
6 Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.	6 Non a popoli numerosi di linguaggio oscuro e lingua straniera, di cui non capisci le parole. Eppure se ti mandassi ad essi, ti potrebbero ascoltare.
7 But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.	7 Ma la casa d'Israele non vorrà ascoltarti, perché non vogliono ascoltare me! Infatti tutti quelli della casa d'Israele sono di faccia dura e di cuore insolente.
8 Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.	8 Ma ecco che ho reso la tua faccia dura quanto la loro e la tua fronte dura quanto la loro.
9 As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.	9 Come un diamante, più dura della roccia ho reso la tua fronte; non temerli e non abbatterti di fronte a loro, perché sono una casa ribelle".
10 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.	10 Poi mi disse: "Figlio dell'uomo, ogni parola che ti dirò accoglila nel tuo cuore e ascoltala bene.
11 And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.	11 Orsù, va' dagli esuli, dai tuoi connazionali; parlerai ad essi e dirai: "Così dice Dio, mio Signore"; magari ascoltassero e la smettessero!".
12 Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place.	12 Poi uno spirito mi sollevò e udii dietro a me un fragore di gran terremoto, mentre la Gloria del Signore si alzava da quel posto.
13 I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.	13 Udii il fragore delle ali degli esseri viventi che le sbattevano l'una contro l'altra, il fragore delle ruote con esse, e il rumore di un grande frastuono.
14 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.	14 Lo spirito mi sollevò e mi portò via. Me ne andavo triste, colpito nel mio spirito, e la mano del Signore pesava forte su di me.
15 Then I came to them of the captivity at Tel-abib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.	15 Allora andai dagli esuli di Tel-Avìv, che stavano presso il canale Chebàr, lungo il quale essi abitavano, e vi restai sette giorni, in mezzo a loro, stordito.
16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,	16 Dopo sette giorni mi giunse la parola del Signore:
17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.	17 "Figlio dell'uomo, ti ho costituito sentinella sulla casa d'Israele; quando udrai qualcosa dalla mia bocca, li scuoterai da parte mia.
18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.	18 Se dico all'empio: "Devi morire", e tu non l'hai scosso e non hai parlato per correggere l'empio dalla sua empia condotta affinché viva, quell'empio morirà nella sua condotta, ma del suo sangue chiederò conto a te.
19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.	19 Se però tu hai ammonito l'empio e non s'è convertito dalla sua empietà e dalla sua empia condotta, mentr'egli morrà nella sua colpa, tu avrai salvato la tua vita.
20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.	20 Se poi il giusto si perverte, non è più giusto e fa il male, gli porrò davanti una trappola e morrà; se non l'hai ammonito, morrà nel suo peccato e non saranno ricordate le opere giuste da lui fatte. Ma del suo sangue chiederò conto a te.
21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.	21 Ma se tu hai scosso il giusto perché non pecchi e lui non peccherà, egli vivrà, appunto perché fu ammonito e tu avrai salvato la tua vita".
22 And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.	22 La mano del Signore fu poi su di me e mi disse: "A'lzati, esci nella pianura; là ti parlerò".
23 Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.	23 Mi alzai e uscii nella pianura ed ecco là la Gloria del Signore, come la Gloria che avevo visto presso il canale Chebàr. Io caddi bocconi,
24 Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.	24 ma uno spirito venne a me e mi fece alzare in piedi; allora il Signore mi parlò e mi disse: "Va', sta' chiuso in casa,
25 But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:	25 o figlio dell'uomo: ecco che ti si legherà mettendoti addosso delle funi e non uscirai in mezzo a loro.
26 And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.	26 Ti attaccherò la lingua al palato; resterai muto e non sarai più la loro guida; infatti essi sono una casa ribelle.
27 But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.	27 Ma quando ti parlerò, ti aprirò la bocca e dirai ad essi: "Così parla Dio, mio Signore"; si ascolti finalmente e si smetta! Essi sono una casa ribelle!".
