Ezekiel 3

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.	1 Il me dit: "Fils d'homme, ce qui t'est présenté, mange-le; mange ce volume et va parler à la maisond'Israël."
2 So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.	2 J'ouvris la bouche et il me fit manger ce volume,
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.	3 puis il me dit: "Fils d'homme, nourris-toi et rassasie-toi de ce volume que je te donne." Je lemangeai et, dans ma bouche, il fut doux comme du miel.
4 And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.	4 Alors il me dit: "Fils d'homme, va-t'en vers la maison d'Israël et tu leur porteras mes paroles.
5 For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;	5 Ce n'est pas vers un peuple au parler obscur et à la langue difficile que tu es envoyé, c'est vers lamaison d'Israël.
6 Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.	6 Ce n'est pas vers des peuples nombreux, au parler obscur et à la langue difficile, dont tun'entendrais pas les paroles - si je t'envoyais vers eux, ils t'écouteraient -
7 But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.	7 mais la maison d'Israël ne veux pas t'écouter car elle ne veut pas m'écouter. Toute la maisond'Israël n'est que fronts endurcis et coeurs obstinés.
8 Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.	8 Voici que je rends ton visage aussi dur que leur visage, et ton front aussi dur que leur front;
9 As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.	9 je rends ton front dur comme le diamant, qui est plus dur que le roc. N'aie pas peur d'eux, sois sanscrainte devant eux, car c'est une engeance de rebelles."
10 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.	10 Puis il me dit: "Fils d'homme, toutes les paroles que je te dirai, reçois-les dans ton coeur, écoutede toutes tes oreilles,
11 And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.	11 et va-t'en vers les exilés, vers les fils de ton peuple pour leur parler. Tu leur diras: Ainsi parle leSeigneur Yahvé, qu'ils écoutent ou qu'ils n'écoutent pas."
12 Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place.	12 L'esprit m'enleva et j'entendis derrière moi le bruit d'un grand tremblement: "Bénie soit la gloirede Yahvé au lieu de son séjour!"
13 I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.	13 C'était le bruit que faisaient les ailes des animaux, battant l'une contre l'autre, et le bruit des rouesà côté d'eux, et le bruit d'un grand tremblement.
14 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.	14 Et l'esprit m'enleva et me prit; j'allai amer, l'esprit enfiévré, et la main de Yahvé pesait fortementsur moi.
15 Then I came to them of the captivity at Tel-abib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.	15 J'arrivai à Tell Abib, chez les exilés installés près du fleuve Kebar; c'est là qu'ils habitaient, et j'yrestai sept jours, frappé de stupeur, au milieu d'eux.
16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,	16 Or, au bout de sept jours, la parole de Yahvé me fut adressée en ces termes:
17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.	17 "Fils d'homme, je t'ai fait guetteur pour la maison d'Israël. Lorsque tu entendras une parole de mabouche, tu les avertiras de ma part.
18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.	18 Si je dis au méchant: Tu vas mourir, et que tu ne l'avertis pas, si tu ne parles pas pour avertir leméchant d'abandonner sa conduite mauvaise afin qu'il vive, le méchant, lui, mourra de sa faute, mais c'est à toique je demanderai compte de son sang.
19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.	19 Si au contraire tu as averti le méchant et qu'il ne s'est pas converti de sa méchanceté et de samauvaise conduite, il mourra, lui, de sa faute, mais toi, tu auras sauvé ta vie.
20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.	20 Lorsque le juste se détournera de sa justice pour commettre le mal et que je mettrai un piègedevant lui, c'est lui qui mourra; parce que tu ne l'auras pas averti, il mourra de son péché et on ne se souviendraplus de la justice qu'il a pratiquée, mais je te demanderai compte de son sang.
21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.	21 Si au contraire tu as averti le juste de ne pas pécher et qu'il n'a pas péché, il vivra parce qu'il auraété averti, et toi, tu auras sauvé ta vie."
22 And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.	22 C'est là que la main de Yahvé fut sur moi; il me dit: "Lève-toi, sors dans la vallée, et là, je vais teparler."
23 Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.	23 Je me levai et je sortis dans la vallée, et voilà que la gloire de Yahvé y était arrêtée, semblable à lagloire que j'avais vue au bord du fleuve Kebar, et je tombai la face contre terre.
24 Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.	24 Alors l'esprit entra en moi, il me fit tenir debout et me parla. Il me dit: "Va t'enfermer dans tamaison.
25 But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:	25 Toi, fils d'homme, voici qu'on va te mettre des liens, on t'en ligotera et tu ne sortiras plus aumilieu d'eux.
26 And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.	26 Je ferai coller ta langue à ton palais, tu seras muet, et tu ne seras plus pour eux celui quiréprimande, car c'est une engeance de rebelles.
27 But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.	27 Et lorsque je te parlerai, je t'ouvrirai la bouche et tu leur diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahvé;quiconque veut écouter, qu'il écoute, et quiconque ne le veut pas, qu'il n'écoute pas, car c'est une engeance derebelles."
