1 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.	1 - E mi disse: «Figlio dell'uomo, divora ciò che ti trovi davanti, divora il rotolo, poi va' e parla ai figli di Israele».
2 So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.	2 Io spalancai la bocca e colui mi fece mangiare quel rotolo dicendomi:
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.	3 «Figlio dell'uomo, il tuo ventre si nutrirà e le tue viscere si riempiranno con questo rotolo che io ti porgo». Ed io lo divorai e fu dolce la mia bocca come miele.
4 And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.	4 Egli mi disse: «Figlio dell'uomo, va' a quei della casa di Israele e di' loro le mie parole.
5 For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;	5 Non ad un popolo di linguaggio difficile e d'incomprensibile favella sei mandato; ma alla casa di Israele.
6 Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.	6 Non già ai popoli dal linguaggio difficile e dalla favella incomprensibile, coi quali non ti possa intendere nel parlare; ah, se a loro fossi mandato quelli ti ascolterebbero!
7 But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.	7 Ma quei della casa di Israele non vogliono ascoltar te, perchè non vogliono ascoltar me; tutta la casa di Israele è dura fronte e di cuore resistente!
8 Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.	8 Ma ecco che io ho dato a te una faccia più resistente delle loro, e una fronte più dura delle loro.
9 As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.	9 Ti ho dato una faccia dura come diamante e resistente come selce; non temerli e non aver paura della loro presenza, benchè siano una famiglia pertinace».
10 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.	10 E mi disse: «Figlio dell'uomo, tutte le mie parole ch'io ti verrò dicendo, raccoglile nel tuo cuore e porgi le tue orecchie per ascoltarle
11 And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear.	11 e poi va', recati a quei dell'esilio, ai figli del mio popolo e parla a loro e dirai: - Così dice il Signore Dio: - forse ascolteranno e desisteranno».
12 Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place.	12 E lo spirito mi sollevò e udii dietro di me il rumore d'un gran scotimento: «Benedetta la gloria del Signore che dal suo luogo si avanza»
13 I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing.	13 e il rombo delle ali degli animali, agitate s'urtavano l'una contro l'altra; e lo strepito delle ruote che seguivano gli animali; e un rumore d'un fracasso grandioso.
14 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.	14 E lo spirito levò anche me, e mi tolse di là; e me ne andai amareggiato e collo spirito tutto indignato, ma la mano del Signore era con me e mi confortava.
15 Then I came to them of the captivity at Tel-abib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.	15 E venni agli esiliati, a Tell Abib, che avevano fissa la dimora presso il fiume Cobar, e mi fermai con loro; e rimasi sette giorni in mezzo ad essi tutto sconsolato.
16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,	16 Passati sette giorni il Signore mi comunicò la sua parola dicendo:
17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.	17 «Figlio dell'uomo, io ti ho posto per scolta alla casa d'Israele, tu ascolterai dalla mia bocca la parola e da parte mia l'annunzierai a loro.
18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.	18 Se dirò all'empio: - Sei reo di morte! - e tu non lo avvertirai e non glielo dirai affinchè si ritragga dalla sua malvagia strada e viva; l'empio morrà nella sua iniquità, ma domanderò conto della sua condanna a te.
19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.	19 Che se avvertirai l'empio, e non si sarà convertito dalla sua iniquità e dalla sua empia condotta, egli morrà nella sua iniquità e tu avrai salva l'anima tua.
20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.	20 E se il giusto si perverte dalla sua giustizia e commette la colpa, e io gli pongo davanti un inciampo; egli morrà perchè non lo hai avvisato: morrà nel suo peccato e non saranno ricordate le buone opere che fece, ma della sua condanna domanderò conto a te.
21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.	21 Se poi tu metterai sull'avviso il giusto che, per esser giusto, non deve peccare, ed egli non avrà peccato: egli avrà la vita salva perchè lo hai avvertito e tu avrai salva l'anima tua».
22 And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee.	22 E fu sopra di me la mano del Signore e mi disse: «Alzati ed esci alla campagna che ti voglio ivi parlare».
23 Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.	23 Allora mi alzai e uscii nella campagna; ed ecco la gloria del Signore stava là presente, simile alla gloria che aveva veduto presso al fiume Cobar: e cascai sulla faccia, per terra.
24 Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.	24 E lo spirito entrò in me e mi rimise in piedi, e prese a parlarmi e a dirmi: «Entra e rinchiuditi dentro della tua casa.
25 But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:	25 E a te, figlio dell'uomo, ecco che sono state poste le catene e ti legheranno e più non uscirai in mezzo a loro.
26 And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.	26 E annoderò la tua lingua al palato e resterai muto e più non potrai far da riprensore, perchè sono una famiglia che mi fa inasprire.
27 But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.	27 Ma quando ti avrò parlato, ti snoderò le labbra e dirai loro: - Così dice il Signore Dio: Chi vuole ascoltare, ascolti; e chi vuole desistere, desista; perchè sono una famiglia che mi fa inasprire .-
