1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,	1 Cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
2 Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.	2 “Fils d’homme, ne vas-tu pas juger la ville sanguinaire?
3 Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD, The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself.	3 Fais-lui connaître tous ses crimes. Tu lui diras cette parole de Yahvé: Malheur à cette ville: elle a avancé son heure avec le sang versé au milieu d’elle, elle s’est rendue impure avec les idoles qu’elle s’est faites.
4 Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries.	4 Le sang répandu fait de toi une coupable, tu t’es fait des idoles et tu en es restée souillée. Tu as avancé ton heure et le terme de tes années est là: je vais faire de toi la honte des nations, un sujet de moqueries pour tous les peuples.
5 Those that be near, and those that be far from thee, shall mock thee, which art infamous and much vexed.	5 Qu’ils soient proches ou lointains, ils se moqueront de toi pour avoir souillé ton nom et multiplié tes crimes.
6 Behold, the princes of Israel, every one were in thee to their power to shed blood.	6 Les chefs d’Israël n’ont fait que répandre le sang, chacun pour son compte.
7 In thee have they set light by father and mother: in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.	7 Chez toi on méprise père et mère, on maltraite l’étranger, on fait violence à l’orphelin et à la veuve.
8 Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.	8 On méprise ce qui m’est consacré, on ne respecte pas mes sabbats.
9 In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit lewdness.	9 Chez toi, des gens calomnient et répandent le sang, chez toi, on mange la chair non saignée, on commet mille méfaits.
10 In thee have they discovered their fathers' nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was set apart for pollution.	10 Chez toi on couche avec son père, on fait violence à la femme qui a ses règles.
11 And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour's wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father's daughter.	11 L’un commet l’adultère avec la femme de son prochain, un autre se livre à des pratiques honteuses avec sa belle-fille, un autre encore fait violence à sa sœur, à la fille de son père.
12 In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD.	12 Chez toi on condamne à mort pour de l’argent; vous prêtez avec intérêt, vous prenez des commissions. Tu dépouilles brutalement ton prochain, et moi tu m’as oublié - parole de Yahvé.
13 Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.	13 Mais maintenant je frappe dans mes mains pour tout cet argent que tu as accumulé et pour le sang qui est au milieu de toi.
14 Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it.	14 Garderas-tu ton assurance, seras-tu si hardie le jour où je m’en prendrai à toi? Moi Yahvé j’ai parlé, et je le ferai.
15 And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee.	15 Je te disperserai parmi les nations, je te jetterai au milieu des peuples, je ferai disparaître de chez toi ton impureté.
16 And thou shalt take thine inheritance in thyself in the sight of the heathen, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.	16 Je te laisserai déshonorée à la face des nations et tu sauras que je suis Yahvé.
17 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,	17 Cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
18 Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver.	18 “Fils d’homme, les gens d’Israël sont devenus pour moi un métal impur. Ils sont comme le cuivre, l’étain, le fer ou le plomb qu’on fait passer par le feu parce que le métal est impur.
19 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.	19 C’est pourquoi, voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je vais vous rassembler dans Jérusalem comme on fait pour du métal impur.
20 As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you.	20 Comme on rassemble l’argent, le cuivre, le fer, le plomb et l’étain dans une fournaise pour les faire fondre à force de chauffer, de même je vous rassemblerai et je ferai chauffer ma colère jusqu’à vous faire fondre.
21 Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof.	21 Je vous rassemblerai au milieu de la ville et je vous ferai fondre dans le feu surchauffé de ma colère.
22 As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.	22 Comme on fond l’argent dans la fournaise, ainsi serez-vous fondus au milieu de la ville et vous saurez que c’est moi, Yahvé, qui ai déchaîné ma colère contre vous.
23 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,	23 Cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
24 Son of man, say unto her, Thou art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.	24 “Fils d’homme, dis à Jérusalem: Tu es une terre, qui n’a reçu ni pluie ni averse au temps des semailles.
25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.	25 Chez toi ceux qui commandent sont comme un lion rugissant qui déchire sa proie: ils dévorent les gens, ils prennent les biens et les bijoux, et les veuves à cause d’eux sont de plus en plus nombreuses.
26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.	26 Tes prêtres ont méprisé ma loi et profané ce qui m’était consacré; ils n’ont pas distingué entre ce qui est saint et ce qui est profane. Ils n’ont pas montré la différence entre l’impur et le pur; ils ont ignoré mes sabbats et chez eux je me sens déshonoré.
27 Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.	27 Tes chefs sont au milieu du pays comme des loups qui déchirent une proie, qui répandent le sang et mettent à mort les gens pour en tirer profit.
28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.	28 Pendant ce temps tes prophètes ne font que du replâtrage, leur révélation n’est que tromperie, et leur prédiction mensonge. Ils disent: “Parole de Yahvé!” alors que Yahvé n’a rien dit.
29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.	29 Les propriétaires se livrent à la violence, commettent le vol, maltraitent le pauvre et l’indigent; ils font violence à l’étranger sans aucun droit.
30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.	30 Parmi eux j’ai cherché un homme qui construirait un rempart et me ferait face sur le créneau pour m’empêcher de détruire le pays, mais je ne l’ai pas trouvé.
31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.	31 Alors j’ai déchaîné contre eux ma colère, je les ai exterminés par le feu de ma fureur et j’ai fait retomber sur leur tête leur propre conduite, parole de Yahvé.
