Jeremiah 33

1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the prison, saying,	1 La parole de Yahvé fut adressée une seconde fois à Jérémie, alors qu’il était enfermé dans la cour de garde:
2 Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name;	2 Ainsi a parlé Yahvé qui a fait la terre, qui l’a façonnée et l’a fixée, lui dont le nom est Yahvé:
3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.	3 Appelle-moi et je te répondrai, je te ferai connaître des choses grandes et cachées que tu ne savais pas.
4 For thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;	4 Car voici ce que dit Yahvé, le Dieu d’Israël, à propos des maisons de cette ville, et des maisons des rois de Juda qu’on est en train de détruire pour les travaux du siège.
5 They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.	5 Lorsqu’ils combattront les Kaldéens, ces maisons se rempliront de cadavres; je les frapperai dans ma colère et ma fureur, parce que j’ai détourné mon regard de cette ville, à cause de leurs actions mauvaises.
6 Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.	6 Mais je leur appliquerai un remède et une guérison. Oui, je vais les guérir et je leur ferai connaître la paix dans la vérité.
7 And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.	7 Je ramènerai les déportés de Juda et de Jérusalem et je les rétablirai comme autrefois.
8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.	8 Je les purifierai de tous les péchés qu’ils ont commis contre moi; je pardonnerai toutes les offenses et infidélités qu’ils ont commises contre moi.
9 And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.	9 Cette ville sera ma joie et me fera un nom. Elle me vaudra louange et gloire de la part de toutes les nations qui verront cette prospérité; elles trembleront de respect à la vue de cette prospérité et de cette paix que je lui donnerai.
10 Thus saith the LORD; Again there shall be heard in this place, which ye say shall be desolate without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,	10 Vous voyez ce lieu en ruines, sans hommes et sans bêtes; mais c’est Yahvé qui le dit: dans les villes de Juda et dans les rues de Jérusalem aujourd’hui dévastées, sans passants ni habitants ni bêtes, on entendra encore
11 The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.	11 les fêtes et la joie, les chants du fiancé et de la fiancée, ainsi que ceux qui font monter la louange dans le Temple de Yahvé: “Louez Yahvé Sabaot, car Yahvé est bon, éternelle est sa fidélité!” Oui, je ramènerai les déportés de ce pays et ce sera comme autrefois - parole de Yahvé.
12 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.	12 Voici ce que dit Yahvé Sabaot: Dans ce pays ravagé, sans hommes et sans bêtes, et dans toutes ses villes, on verra de nouveau des pâturages avec des bergers qui gardent leurs troupeaux.
13 In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that telleth them, saith the LORD.	13 Dans les villes de la montagne et celles de la Séphéla, dans les villes du Négueb, sur le territoire de Benjamin et dans les environs de Jérusalem, ainsi que dans les villes de Juda, les brebis passeront encore sous la main de celui qui les compte - parole de Yahvé.
14 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.	14 Voici venir des jours - parole de Yahvé, où je réaliserai la promesse que j’ai faite à la maison d’Israël et à la maison de Juda.
15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.	15 En ces jours-là et en ce temps-là, je ferai pousser un rejeton de David qui sera pour la justice; il établira dans le pays la droiture et la justice.
16 In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.	16 En ces jours-là Juda sera sauvé, Jérusalem habitera en paix; et voici comment on l’appellera: “Yahvé-notre-Justice”.
17 For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;	17 Oui, voici ce que dit Yahvé: David aura toujours un de ses descendants assis sur le trône de la maison d’Israël.
18 Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.	18 Les prêtres lévites auront toujours des descendants qui se tiendront devant moi pour m’offrir l’holocauste, pour faire fumer l’offrande, et présenter le sacrifice quotidien.
19 And the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, saying,	19 La parole de Yahvé fut ensuite adressée à Jérémie:
20 Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;	20 “Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Si vous pouvez rompre mon contrat avec le jour, ou mon contrat avec la nuit, si bien que le jour et la nuit ne viennent plus au moment fixé,
21 Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.	21 alors sera aussi brisée mon alliance avec mon serviteur David et il n’aura plus de descendants pour régner sur son trône. Alors seulement sera brisée mon alliance avec mes serviteurs, les prêtres lévites.
22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.	22 De même qu’on ne peut compter l’armée du ciel ni mesurer les sables de la mer, de même je multiplierai la descendance de mon serviteur David et celle des Lévites qui me servent.
23 Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,	23 Voici une parole de Yahvé qui fut adressée à Jérémie:
24 Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.	24 As-tu remarqué comment les gens disent: “Yahvé a rejeté les deux familles qu’il avait choisies”? Ils ne croient déjà plus à mon peuple, comme s’il n’était plus une nation.
25 Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;	25 Mais voici ce que dit Yahvé: Si je n’ai pas créé le jour et la nuit, si je n’ai pas fixé les règles du ciel et de la terre,
26 Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.	26 alors je suis capable de rejeter la race de Jacob; alors je rejetterai les descendants de mon serviteur David et je ne prendrai plus parmi eux les gouvernants du peuple d’Abraham, d’Isaac et de Jacob. Car je ramènerai leurs exilés et je serai plein d’attentions pour eux.
