Jeremiah 29

1 Now these are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the residue of the elders which were carried away captives, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon;	1 Queste son le parole della lettera mandata da Geremia profeta a quelli, che eran rimasi seniori de' fuor usciti, e a' sacerdoti, e ai profeti, e a tutto il popolo, che era stato trasportato da Nabuchodonosor da Gerusalemme in Babilonia:
2 (After that Jeconiah the king, and the queen, and the eunuchs, the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, and the carpenters, and the smiths, were departed from Jerusalem;)	2 Dopoché furon partiti da Gerusalemme Jeconia, e la padrona, e gli eunuchi, e i principi di Giuda, e di Gerusalemme, e i fabbri, e i gioiellieri:
3 By the hand of Elasah the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah the son of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent unto Babylon to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon) saying,	3 Per mano di Elasa figliuolo di Saphan, e di Gamaria figliuolo di Helcia mandati a Babilonia da Sedecia re di Giuda a Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia:
4 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon;	4 Scrisse egli: Queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele a tutti i fuorusciti, i quali io ho trasferiti da Gerusalemme a Babilonia:
5 Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them;	5 Fabbricatevi delle case, e abitatele, e piantate degli orti, e mangiatene il frutto.
6 Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished.	6 Fate de' matrimonj, e generate figliuoli, e figlie: e ammogliate i vostri figliuoli, e maritate le vostre figliuole, e partoriscano figliuoli, e figliuole, e moltiplicate costì, e non vi riducete a scarso numero.
7 And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.	7 E proccurate la pace della città, nella quale io vi ho fatti passare; e pregate per essa il Signore; perocché nella pace di lei sarà compresa la vostra pace.
8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.	8 Imperocché queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Non vi seducano i vostri profeti, che son tra di voi, e i vostri indovini, e non date retta a' sogni da voi sognati;
9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.	9 Imperocché falsamente profetan coloro nel nome mio, ed io non gli ho mandati, dice il Signore;
10 For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.	10 Imperocché queste cose dice il Signore: Allorché sarete per compiere i settant'anni in Babilonia, io vi visiterò, e metterò ad effetto la mia graziosa parola, di ricondurvi in questo luogo;
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.	11 Imperocché io so i disegni, che ho sopra di voi, dice il Signore, disegni di pace, e non di afflizione, per dare a voi la fine, e quello, che aspettate.
12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.	12 E voi m' invocherete, e partirete; e mi pregherete, ed io vi esaudirò.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.	13 Mi cercherete, e mi troverete, al lorché mi cercherete con tutto il cuor vostro.
14 And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.	14 E voi mi troverete, dice il Signore, ed io vi ricondurrò dalla schiavitù, e vi raunerò da tutte le regioni, e da tutti i luoghi, ne' quali io vi ho di spersi, dice il Signore, e vi farò tornare dal luogo, dove vi feci andare raminghi.
15 Because ye have said, The LORD hath raised us up prophets in Babylon;	15 Ma voi avete detto: Il Signore ha suscitati a noi de' profeti in Babilonia.
16 Know that thus saith the LORD of the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and of all the people that dwelleth in this city, and of your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captivity;	16 Or queste cose dice il Signore al re, che siede sul trono di David, e a tutto il popolo, che abita questa città, a' vostri fratelli, che non sono come voi passati in altra regione.
17 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like vile figs, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.	17 Queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti: Ecco che io manderò contro di loro la spada, e la fame, e la peste; e li tratterò come fichi cattivi, che non posson mangiarsi, per essere guasti.
18 And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them:	18 E li perseguiterò colla spada, colla fame, e colla peste: e farò, che siano spersi per tutti i regni della terra, divenuti la maledizione, lo spavento, lo scherno, e l'obbrobrio a tutte le genti, tralle quali io lo caccerò;
19 Because they have not hearkened to my words, saith the LORD, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith the LORD.	19 Perchè non hanno ascoltate le mie parole, dice il Signore, manifestate ad essi di buon'ora da me per mezzo de' profeti miei servi. Ma voi non le ascoltaste, dice il Signore.
20 Hear ye therefore the word of the LORD, all ye of the captivity, whom I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon:	20 Voi adunque udite la Parola del Signore, voi fuorusciti tutti mandati da me da Gerusalemme a Babilonia.
21 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, of Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and of Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, which prophesy a lie unto you in my name; Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall slay them before your eyes;	21 Queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele ad Achab figliuolo di Colia, e a Sedecia figliuolo di Maasia, i quali profetizzano a voi menzogne nel nome mio: Ecco, che io li darò nelle mani di Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia, ed ei li farà morire sugli occhi vostri.
22 And of them shall be taken up a curse by all the captivity of Judah which are in Babylon, saying, The LORD make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire;	22 E tutti i fuorusciti di Giuda, che sono in Babilonia, prenderanno da questi una maniera di maledizione, dicendo: Faccia a te il Signore come a Sedecia, e ad Achab, i quali il re di Babilonia frisse sul fuoco;
23 Because they have committed villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours' wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and am a witness, saith the LORD.	23 Perocché eglino han fatto cose brutte in Israele, ed hanno svituperate le mogli de' loro amici, ed hanno parlato falsamente nel nome mio, non avendone io data ad essi commissione. Io sono il giudice, e il testimone, dice il Signore.
24 Thus shalt thou also speak to Shemaiah the Nehelamite, saying,	24 E a Semeia Nehelamite tu dirai:
25 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy name unto all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying,	25 Queste cose dice il Signor degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Perchè tu di tuo capriccio mandasti lettere a tutto il popolo, che è in Gerusalemme, e a Sophonia figliuolo di Maasia sacerdote, e a tutti i sacerdoti, dicendo:
26 The LORD hath made thee priest in the stead of Jehoiada the priest, that ye should be officers in the house of the LORD, for every man that is mad, and maketh himself a prophet, that thou shouldest put him in prison, and in the stocks.	26 Il Signore ti ha fatto sacerdote in luogo di Jojada, affinchè tu abbi autorità nella casa del Signore per reprimere ogni fanatico, che profetizza, e metterlo in ceppi, e in prigione,
27 Now therefore why hast thou not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, which maketh himself a prophet to you?	27 Ed ora perchè non hai tu gastigato Geremia di Anathoth, che fa tra voi il profeta?
28 For therefore he sent unto us in Babylon, saying, This captivity is long: build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.	28 Imperocché oltre di questo egli ha mandato a dire a noi in Babilonia: La cosa è lunga: fabbricatevi delle case, e abitatele, piantate degli orti, e mangiatene il frutto.
29 And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.	29 Sofonia adunque lesse questa lettera a Geremia profeta.
30 Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying,	30 E il Signore parlò a Geremia, dicendo:
31 Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith the LORD concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite; Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie:	31 Scrivi a tutti i fuorusciti in questo tenore: Queste cose dice il Signore intorno a Semeia Nehelamite: Perchè Semeia ha profetizzato a voi, ed io non lo avea mandato; e vi fece confidare nella menzogna,
32 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the LORD; because he hath taught rebellion against the LORD.	32 Per questo cosi dice il Signore: Ecco che io visiterò Semeia Nehelamite, e la sua stirpe, della quale non sarà alcuno che segga in mezzo a questo popolo, né che vegga il bene, che io farò al mio popolo; perchè da prevaricatore ha parlato contro il Signore.
