Isaiah 61

1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;	1 L’Esprit du Seigneur Yahvé est sur moi: oui, Yahvé m’a consacré, il m’a envoyé pour porter aux humbles de bonnes nouvelles, pour guérir ceux qui ont le cœur brisé, annoncer aux captifs la libération, à ceux qui sont au cachot, le retour à la lumière;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;	2 pour proclamer une année de grâce de Yahvé, le jour où notre Dieu se fera justice. Je dois réconforter ceux qui sont dans la peine,
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.	3 leur donner une couronne au lieu de cendres, des parfums au lieu de leur deuil, une tenue de fête au lieu d’un esprit abattu. Alors on les appellera: “Arbres de justice”, “ceux que Yahvé a plantés pour sa gloire.”
4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.	4 Ils relèveront les ruines anciennes, ils reconstruiront sur les restes du passé.
5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.	5 Des étrangers s’établiront ici pour veiller sur vos troupeaux, on viendra d’ailleurs pour travailler vos champs et vos vignes.
6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.	6 Mais vous, vous serez appelés prêtres de Yahvé. On dira de vous: “Ce sont les serviteurs de notre Dieu.” Vous vivrez aux frais des nations païennes et vous vous vanterez de leur luxe.
7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.	7 Vous ne connaîtrez plus la honte: vous serez des privilégiés. Ceux de mon peuple auront en leur pays de grands domaines; leur joie sera durable.
8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.	8 Car moi, Yahvé, j’aime le droit, je déteste le vol et la fraude; aussi je leur donnerai fidèlement leur récompense et leur accorderai une alliance éternelle.
9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.	9 Les nations connaîtront leur race, leur descendance sera célèbre au milieu des peuples; tous ceux qui les verront verront en eux la race que Yahvé a bénie.
10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.	10 Ma joie est toute en Yahvé, mon Dieu m’a mis l’âme en fête! Il m’a revêtue d’une robe: son salut, et d’un manteau qui est sa justice, tout comme un époux se coiffe de sa couronne, comme la fiancée se met ses bijoux.
11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.	11 De même que la terre fait sortir ses pousses, et que dans le jardin germe la graine qu’on y a semée, de même le Seigneur Yahvé fera germer sa justice, avec sa louange, à la face des nations.
