Isaiah 51

1 Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.	1 Prestadme oído, seguidores de lo justo, los que buscáis a Yahveh. Reparad en la peña de donde fuisteis tallados, y en la cavidad de pozo de donde fuisteis excavados.
2 Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.	2 Reparad en Abraham vuestro padre, y en Sara, que os dio a luz; pues uno solo era cuando le llamé, pero le bendije y le multipliqué.
3 For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.	3 Cuando haya consolado Yahveh a Sión, haya consolado todas sus ruinas y haya trocado el desierto en Edén y la estepa en Paraíso de Yahveh, recocijo y alegría se encontrarán en ella, alabanza y son de canciones.
4 Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.	4 Préstame atención, pueblo mío, mi nación, escúchame; que una instrucción saldrá de mí, y juicio mío para luz de las naciones. Inminente,
5 My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.	5 cercana está mi justicia, saldrá mi liberación, y mis brazos juzgarán a los pueblos. Las islas esperan en mí y cuentan con mi brazo.
6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.	6 Alzad a los cielos vuestros ojos y contemplad la tierra abajo, pues los cielos como humareda se disiparán, la tierra como un vestido se gastará y sus moradores como el mosquito morirán. Pero mi salvación por siempre será, y mi justicia se mantendrá intacta.
7 Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.	7 Prestadme oído, sabedores de lo justo, pueblo consciente de mi ley. No temáis las injurias de los hombres, y de sus ultrajes no os asustéis;
8 For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.	8 pues como un vestido se los comerá la polilla, y como lana los comerá la tiña. Pero mi justicia por siempre será, y mi salvación por generaciones de generaciones.
9 Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon?	9 ¡Despierta, despierta, revístete de poderío, oh brazo de Yahveh! ¡Despierta como en los días de antaño, en las generaciones pasadas! ¿No eres tú el que partió a Ráhab, el que atravesó al Dragón?
10 Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over?	10 ¿No eres tú el que secó la Mar, las aguas del gran Océano, el que trocó las honduras del mar en camino para que pasasen los rescatados?
11 Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.	11 Los redimidos de Yahveh volverán, entrarán en Sión entre aclamaciones, y habrá alegría eterna sobre sus cabezas. ¡Regocijo y alegría les acompañarán! ¡Adios, el penar y suspiros!
12 I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;	12 Yo, yo soy tu consolador. ¿Quién eres tú, que tienes miedo del mortal y del hijo del hombre, al heno equiparado?
13 And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?	13 Olvidas a Yahveh, tu hacedor, el que extendió los cielos y cimentó la tierra; y te estás depavorido todo a lo largo del día ante la furia del opresor, en cuanto se aplica a destruir. Pues ¿dónde está esa furia del opresor?
14 The captive exile hasteneth that he may be loosed, and that he should not die in the pit, nor that his bread should fail.	14 Pronto saldrá libre el que está en la cárcel, no morirá en la hoya, no le faltará el pan.
15 But I am the LORD thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The LORD of hosts is his name.	15 Yo soy Yahveh tu Dios, que agito el mar y hago bramar sus olas; Yahveh Sebaot es mi nombre.
16 And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.	16 Yo he puesto mis palabras en tu boca y te he escondido a la sombra de mi mano, cuando extendía los cielos y cimentaba la tierra, diciendo a Sión: «Mi pueblo eres tú».
17 Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the LORD the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and wrung them out.	17 ¡Despierta, despierta! ¡Levántate, Jerusalén! Tú, que has bebido de mano de Yahveh la copa de su ira. El cáliz del vértigo has bebido hasta vaciarlo.
18 There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she hath brought forth; neither is there any that taketh her by the hand of all the sons that she hath brought up.	18 No hay quien la guíe de entre todos los hijos que ha dado a luz, no hay quien la tome de la mano de entre todos los hijos que ha criado.
19 These two things are come unto thee; who shall be sorry for thee? desolation, and destruction, and the famine, and the sword: by whom shall I comfort thee?	19 Estas dos cosas te han acaecido - ¿quién te conduele? - saqueo y quebranto, hambre y espada - ¿quién te consuela? -
20 Thy sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as a wild bull in a net: they are full of the fury of the LORD, the rebuke of thy God.	20 Tus hijos desfallecen, yacen, en la esquina de todas las calles como antílope en la red, llenos de la ira de Yahveh, de la amenaza de tu Dios.
21 Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine:	21 Por eso, escucha esto, pobrecilla, ebria, pero no de vino.
22 Thus saith thy Lord the LORD, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again:	22 Así dice tu Señor Yahveh, tu Dios, defensor de tu pueblo. Mira que yo te quito de la mano la copa del vértigo, el cáliz de mi ira; ya no tendrás que seguir bebiéndolo.
23 But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.	23 Yo lo pondré en la mano de los que te afligían, de los que a ti misma te decían: «Póstrate para que pasemos», y tú pusiste tu espalda como suelo y como calle de los que pasaban.
