KING JAMES BIBLE	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Wisdom reacheth from one end to another mightily: and sweetly doth she order all things.	1 Ella despliega su fuerza de un extremo hasta el otro, y todo lo administra de la mejor manera.
2 I loved her, and sought her out from my youth, I desired to make her my spouse, and I was a lover of her beauty.	2 Yo la amé y la busqué desde mi juventud, traté de tomarla por esposa y me enamoré de su hermosura.
3 In that she is conversant with God, she magnifieth her nobility: yea, the Lord of all things himself loved her.	3 Su intimidad con Dios hace resaltar la nobleza de su origen, porque la amó el Señor de todas las cosas.
4 For she is privy to the mysteries of the knowledge of God, and a lover of his works.	4 Está iniciada en la ciencia de Dios y es ella la que elige sus obras.
5 If riches be a possession to be desired in this life; what is richer than wisdom, that worketh all things?	5 Si la riqueza es un bien deseable en la vida, ¿qué cosa es más rica que la Sabiduría que todo lo hace?
6 And if prudence work; who of all that are is a more cunning workman than she?	6 Si la prudencia es la que obra, ¿quién más que ella es artífice de todo lo que existe?
7 And if a man love righteousness her labours are virtues: for she teacheth temperance and prudence, justice and fortitude: which are such things, as en can have nothing more profitable in their life.	7 ¿Amas la justicia? El fruto de sus esfuerzos son las virtudes, porque ella enseña la templanza y la prudencia, la justicia y la fortaleza, y nada es más útil que esto para los hombres en la vida.
8 If a man desire much experience, she knoweth things of old, and conjectureth aright what is to come: she knoweth the subtilties of speeches, and can expound dark sentences: she foreseeth signs and wonders, and the events of seasons and times.	8 ¿Deseas, además, tener mucha experiencia? Ella conoce el pasado y puede prever el porvenir, interpreta las máximas y descifra los enigmas, conoce de antemano las señales y los prodigios, la sucesión de las épocas y de los tiempos.
9 Therefore I purposed to take her to me to live with me, knowing that she would be a counsellor of good things, and a comfort in cares and grief.	9 Yo decidí tomarla por compañera de mi vida, sabiendo que ella sería mi consejera para el bien y mi aliento en las preocupaciones y la tristeza.
10 For her sake I shall have estimation among the multitude, and honour with the elders, though I be young.	10 Gracias a ella, alcanzaré gloria entre la gente, y aun siendo joven, seré honrado por los ancianos.
11 I shall be found of a quick conceit in judgment, and shall be admired in the sight of great men.	11 Me encontrarán perspicaz en el ejercicio de la justicia, y seré admirado en presencia de los grandes.
12 When I hold my tongue, they shall bide my leisure, and when I speak, they shall give good ear unto me: if I talk much, they shall lay their hands upon their mouth.	12 Si me callo, estarán a la expectativa, si hablo, me prestarán atención, si mi discurso se prolonga, permanecerán en silencio.
13 Moreover by the means of her I shall obtain immortality, and leave behind me an everlasting memorial to them that come after me.	13 Gracias a ella, alcanzaré la inmortalidad y dejaré a la posteridad un recuerdo eterno;
14 I shall set the people in order, and the nations shall be subject unto me.	14 gobernaré a los pueblos, y las naciones me estarán sometidas;
15 Horrible tyrants shall be afraid, when they do but hear of me; I shall be found good among the multitude, and valiant in war.	15 terribles tiranos quedarán aterrados al oír hablar de mí; me mostraré bondadoso con mi pueblo y valiente en la guerra.
16 After I am come into mine house, I will repose myself with her: for her conversation hath no bitterness; and to live with her hath no sorrow, but mirth and joy.	16 Al volver a mi casa, descansaré junto a ella, porque su compañía no causa amargura, ni dolor su intimidad, sino sólo placer y alegría.
17 Now when I considered these things in myself, and pondered them in my heart, how that to be allied unto wisdom is immortality;	17 Al reflexionar sobre estas cosas, y considerando en mi corazón que en la familiaridad con la Sabiduría está la inmortalidad,
18 And great pleasure it is to have her friendship; and in the works of her hands are infinite riches; and in the exercise of conference with her, prudence; and in talking with her, a good report; I went about seeking how to take her to me.	18 en su amistad, un gozo honesto, en los trabajos de sus manos, inagotables riquezas, en su trato asiduo, la prudencia, y en la comunicación con ella, la celebridad, yo iba por todas partes, tratando de poseerla.
19 For I was a witty child, and had a good spirit.	19 Yo era un muchacho naturalmente bueno y había recibido un alma bondadosa,
20 Yea rather, being good, I came into a body undefiled.	20 o más bien, siendo bueno, vine a un cuerpo sin mancha;
21 Nevertheless, when I perceived that I could not otherwise obtain her, except God gave her me; and that was a point of wisdom also to know whose gift she was; I prayed unto the Lord, and besought him, and with my whole heart I said,	21 pero comprendiendo que no podía obtener la Sabiduría si Dios no me la concedía, y ya era un signo de prudencia saber de quién viene esta gracia, me dirigí al Señor y le supliqué, diciéndole de todo corazón:
