1 Love righteousness, ye that be judges of the earth: think of the Lord with a good (heart,) and in simplicity of heart seek him.	1 Aimez la justice, vous qui gouvernez la terre; ayez pour le Seigneur les sentiments qui conviennent, cherchez-le d’un cœur sincère.
2 For he will be found of them that tempt him not; and sheweth himself unto such as do not distrust him.	2 Car il se laisse trouver par ceux qui ne le provoquent pas, il se manifeste à ceux qui lui font confiance.
3 For froward thoughts separate from God: and his power, when it is tried, reproveth the unwise.	3 Sachez que les raisonnements tortueux éloignent de Dieu: la Toute-Puissance remettra en place les insensés qui la mettent à l’épreuve.
4 For into a malicious soul wisdom shall not enter; nor dwell in the body that is subject unto sin.	4 La Sagesse n’entrera pas dans une âme mal disposée, elle n’habitera pas dans un corps esclave du péché.
5 For the holy spirit of discipline will flee deceit, and remove from thoughts that are without understanding, and will not abide when unrighteousness cometh in.	5 L’Esprit saint qui nous éduque fuit la duplicité; il refuse les pensées stupides et reste paralysé face à la méchanceté.
6 For wisdom is a loving spirit; and will not acquit a blasphemer of his words: for God is witness of his reins, and a true beholder of his heart, and a hearer of his tongue.	6 La Sagesse est un esprit qui aime les hommes, mais elle ne laissera pas impuni celui qui blasphème, car Dieu connaît ses pensées intimes, il voit clair dans son cœur, comme il entend ses paroles.
7 For the Spirit of the Lord filleth the world: and that which containeth all things hath knowledge of the voice.	7 En effet, l’Esprit du Seigneur remplit l’univers, et il lui donne sa cohésion: il sait donc tout ce qui se dit.
8 Therefore he that speaketh unrighteous things cannot be hid: neither shall vengeance, when it punisheth, pass by him.	8 C’est pourquoi quiconque prend des décisions injustes ne peut lui échapper; la justice ne le manquera pas, elle le réduira au silence.
9 For inquisition shall be made into the counsels of the ungodly: and the sound of his words shall come unto the Lord for the manifestation of his wicked deeds.	9 Les desseins de l’impie feront l’objet d’une enquête, ses paroles seront transmises au Seigneur et ses crimes seront punis.
10 For the ear of jealousy heareth all things: and the noise of murmurings is not hid.	10 Sachez qu’une oreille vigilante écoute tout, et rien de ce qu’on a murmuré ne lui échappe.
11 Therefore beware of murmuring, which is unprofitable; and refrain your tongue from backbiting: for there is no word so secret, that shall go for nought: and the mouth that belieth slayeth the soul.	11 Gardez-vous donc des plaintes injustifiées, évitez les propos condamnables, puisque même la parole dite en secret ne reste pas sans conséquences, et la bouche menteuse tue l’âme.
12 Seek not death in the error of your life: and pull not upon yourselves destruction with the works of your hands.	12 Pas de vie désordonnée! ce serait rechercher la mort. Cessez de faire ce qui amènerait votre perte.
13 For God made not death: neither hath he pleasure in the destruction of the living.	13 Car Dieu n’a pas fait la mort, et la perte des vivants ne lui cause aucun plaisir.
14 For he created all things, that they might have their being: and the generations of the world were healthful; and there is no poison of destruction in them, nor the kingdom of death upon the earth:	14 S’il a créé toutes choses, c’était pour qu’elles existent; elles sont pour notre bien et n’apparaissent pas en ce monde chargées d’un poison mortel. La mort n’est pas reine sur cette terre,
15 (For righteousness is immortal:)	15 car la vie juste est immortelle.
16 But ungodly men with their works and words called it to them: for when they thought to have it their friend, they consumed to nought, and made a covenant with it, because they are worthy to take part with it.	16 Les impies pourtant appellent la mort du geste et de la voix; ils ont vu en elle une amie et se sont épris d’elle; ils ont fait un pacte avec elle et ils méritent de lui appartenir.
