Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.1 Unto the end. For the wine and oil presses. A Psalm to the sons of Korah.
For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.2 How beloved are your tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!
They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.3 My soul longs and faints for the courts of the Lord. My heart and my flesh have exulted in the living God.
They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.4 For even the sparrow has found a home for himself, and the turtle-dove a nest for herself, where she may lay her young: your altars, O Lord of hosts, my king and my God.
For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:5 Blessed are those who dwell in your house, O Lord. They will praise you from age to age.
The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;6 Blessed is the man whose help is from you. In his heart, he is disposed to ascend
Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;7 from the valley of tears, from the place which he has determined.
Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.8 For even the lawgiver will provide a blessing; they will go from virtue to virtue. The God of gods will be seen in Zion.
Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:9 O Lord, God of hosts, hear my prayer. Pay attention, O God of Jacob.
Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.10 O God, gaze upon our protector, and look upon the face of your Christ.
Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:11 For one day in your courts is better than thousands elsewhere. I have chosen to be lowly in the house of my God, rather than to dwell in the tabernacles of sinners.
Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.12 For God loves mercy and truth. The Lord will give grace and glory.
O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.13 He will not withhold good things from those who walk in innocence. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who hopes in you.
As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
