Psalms 41

1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.	1 Au maître de chant. Psaume de David.
2 The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.	2 Heureux celui qui pense au pauvre et au malheureux, le Seigneur le sauvera au jour du malheur.
3 The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.	3 Il le gardera en vie, heureux sur cette terre: tu ne le donneras pas à ceux qui le haïssent.
4 I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.	4 Le Seigneur l’assistera sur le lit de douleurs: tu refaisais son lit quand il était malade!
5 Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?	5 J’ai dit au Seigneur: “Aie pitié de moi, me voilà malade, j’ai dû pécher contre toi.”
6 And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.	6 Mes ennemis ont des paroles méchantes: “Quand donc va-t-il mourir, et qu’on n’en parle plus?”
7 All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.	7 Celui qui vient me voir dit des paroles en l’air, mais il s’informe pour me nuire, à peine sorti, il se met à parler.
8 An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.	8 Tous ceux qui me détestent se parlent à voix basse, ils interprètent au pire le mal qui m’afflige:
9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.	9 “C’est une sale affaire cette attaque, il est au lit pour ne pas se relever.”
10 But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.	10 Même le bon ami en qui j’avais confiance, qui partageait mon pain, se retourne contre moi.
11 By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.	11 Mais toi, Seigneur, aie compassion, remets-moi sur pied que je puisse leur rendre la pareille.
12 And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.	12 Ce sera pour moi un signe que tu m’aimes si mon ennemi ne peut triompher.
13 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.	13 Tu me soutiendras, car je serai sans faute, tu me garderas sous tes yeux pour toujours.
	14 Béni soit le Seigneur, le Dieu d’Israël, depuis toujours et pour toujours, Amen! Amen!
