Psalms 127

1 Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.	1 A Canticle in steps. Blessed are all those who fear the Lord, who walk in his ways.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.	2 For you will eat by the labors of your hands. Blessed are you, and it will be well with you.
3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.	3 Your wife is like an abundant vine on the sides of your house. Your sons are like young olive trees surrounding your table.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.	4 Behold, so will the man be blessed who fears the Lord.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.	5 May the Lord bless you from Zion, and may you see the good things of Jerusalem, all the days of your life.
	6 And may you see the sons of your sons. Peace be upon Israel.
