1 And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.	1 Jahvè disse a Mosè: «Guarda, io ti rendo un dio per il Faraone e Aronne tuo fratello sarà il tuo profeta.
2 Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land.	2 Tu gli riferirai tutto ciò che ti ordinerò e Aronne tuo fratello lo ripeterà al Faraone, affinché lasci partire i figli di Israele dalla sua terra.
3 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.	3 Ma io irrigidirò il cuore del Faraone e moltiplicherò i miei segni e i miei prodigi nella terra d’Egitto.
4 But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay my hand upon Egypt, and bring forth mine armies, and my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.	4 Siccome il Faraone non vi ascolterà, io stenderò la mano contro l’Egitto e farò uscire le mie schiere, il mio popolo, i figli di Israele dalla terra d’Egitto con grandi punizioni.
5 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them.	5 Quando io stenderò la mano contro l’Egitto e farò uscire di mezzo a loro i figli di Israele, gli Egiziani sapranno che io sono Jahvè».
6 And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they.	6 Mosè e Aronne obbedirono. Fecero come Jahvè aveva loro ordinato.
7 And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh.	7 Quando parlarono al Faraone, Mosè aveva ottant'anni e Aronne ottantatre.
8 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,	8 Jahvè parlò a Mosè e ad Aronne:
9 When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.	9 «Se il Faraone vi chiederà: “Mostrateci un segno o un prodigio”, tu dirai ad Aronne: “Prendi il tuo bastone e gettalo davanti al Faraone”, ed esso diventerà un serpente».
10 And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.	10 Mosè e Aronne si presentarono quindi dal Faraone e compirono quanto Jahvè aveva loro ordinato. Aronne gettò davanti al Faraone e davanti ai suoi servitori il suo bastone ed esso divenne un serpente.
11 Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.	11 Ma il Faraone convocò a sua volta sapienti e incantatori e anch’essi, i maghi d’Egitto, fecero la stessa cosa con i loro sortilegi.
12 For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.	12 Ognuno di loro gettò il proprio bastone ed esso divenne un serpente: ma il bastone di Aronne divorò i loro bastoni.
13 And he hardened Pharaoh's heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.	13 Il cuore del Faraone fu ostinato e non volle ascoltarli come Jahvè aveva predetto.
14 And the LORD said unto Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the people go.	14 Jahvè disse a Mosè: «Il cuore del Faraone è inflessibile! Non vuol lasciare partire il popolo.
15 Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river's brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.	15 Domani mattina va’ dal Faraone quando sì reca verso le acque, va’ ad aspettarlo sulla riva del fiume. Prenderai in mano il bastone che si mutò in serpente.
16 And thou shalt say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear.	16 Gli riferirai: “Jahvè Dio degli Ebrei mi ha mandato da te per dirti: Lascia partire il mio popolo affinché mi renda un culto nel deserto; ma finora tu non hai voluto ascoltare.
17 Thus saith the LORD, In this thou shalt know that I am the LORD: behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.	17 Così dice Jahvè: Da ciò tu saprai che io sono Jahvè. Con il bastone che ho in mano, io percuoterò l’acqua del fiume e questa si muterà in sangue.
18 And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river.	18 I pesci che sono nell’acqua moriranno, il fiume diventerà fetido e gli Egiziani si sforzeranno invano di bere l’acqua del fiume”».
19 And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone.	19 Jahvè disse a Mosè: «Riferisci ad Aronne: Prendi il tuo bastone, stendi la mano sulle acque d’Egitto, sui suoi fiumi, sui suoi canali, sui suoi stagni e su tutte le sue riserve d’acqua, e queste diventino sangue”. Ci sarà sangue in tutta la terra d’Egitto, perfino nei recipienti di legno e di pietra».
20 And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.	20 Mosè e Aronne fecero come Jahvè aveva ordinato. Sotto lo sguardo del Faraone e dei suoi servitori alzò il bastone, percosse l’acqua del fiume e tutta l’acqua del fiume divenne sangue.
21 And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.	21 Morirono i pesci che erano nel fiume, il fiume divenne fetido così che gli Egiziani non potevano bere l’acqua del fiume. Vi fu sangue in tutta la terra d’Egitto.
22 And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the LORD had said.	22 Ma anche i maghi d’Egitto con i loro sortilegi fecero la stessa cosa. Ma, come Jahvè aveva predetto, il cuore del Faraone fu ostinato e non volle ascoltarli.
23 And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, neither did he set his heart to this also.	23 Il Faraone se ne ritornò, venne al suo palazzo e nemmeno a ciò rivolse il cuore.
24 And all the Egyptians digged round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.	24 Tutti gli Egiziani sondarono i lati del fiume in cerca di acqua potabile, poiché non potevano bere l’acqua del fiume.
25 And seven days were fulfilled, after that the LORD had smitten the river.	25 Passarono così sette giorni da quando Jahvè percosse il fiume.
	26 Poi Jahvè si rivolse a Mosè: «Presentati al Faraone e parla a lui: “Così dice Jahvè: Lascia partire il mio popolo affinché mi renda un culto.
	27 Se tu non lo lascerai partire, sappi che io sto per infestare di rane tutto il tuo territorio
	28 Il fiume brulicherà di rane: saliranno ed entreranno nel tuo palazzo, nel tuo appartamento privato e sul tuo letto, nella casa dei tuoi servitori e del tuo popolo, nei tuoi forni e nelle tue madie.
	29 Le rane usciranno contro di te, contro il tuo popolo e contro tutti i tuoi servitori”»
