1 Now these are the priests and the Levites that went up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,	1 Questi sono i sacerdoti e i leviti che sono tornati con Zorobabele, figlio di Sealtiel, e con Giosuè: Seraia, Geremia, Esdra,
2 Amariah, Malluch, Hattush,	2 Amaria, Malluch, Cattus,
3 Shechaniah, Rehum, Meremoth,	3 Secania, Recum, Meremot,
4 Iddo, Ginnetho, Abijah,	4 Iddo, Ghinneton, Abia,
5 Miamin, Maadiah, Bilgah,	5 Miamin, Maadia, Bilga,
6 Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jediah,	6 Semaia, Ioiarib, Iedaia,
7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chief of the priests and of their brethren in the days of Jeshua.	7 Sallu, Amok, Chelkia, Iedaia. Questi erano i capi dei sacerdoti e dei loro fratelli al tempo di Giosuè.
8 Moreover the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, which was over the thanksgiving, he and his brethren.	8 Leviti: Giosuè, Binnui, Kadmiel, Serebia, Giuda, Mattania, che con i suoi fratelli era preposto al canto degli inni di lode.
9 Also Bakbukiah and Unni, their brethren, were over against them in the watches.	9 Bakbukia e Unni, loro fratelli, stavano di fronte a loro secondo i loro turni di servizio.
10 And Jeshua begat Joiakim, Joiakim also begat Eliashib, and Eliashib begat Joiada,	10 Giosuè generò Ioiachim; Ioiachim generò Eliasib; Eliasib generò Ioiada;
11 And Joiada begat Jonathan, and Jonathan begat Jaddua.	11 Ioiada generò Gionata; Gionata generò Iaddua.
12 And in the days of Joiakim were priests, the chief of the fathers: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah;	12 Al tempo di Ioiachim i sacerdoti che erano i capi delle casate sacerdotali erano i seguenti: del casato di Seraia, Meraia; di quello di Geremia, Anania;
13 Of Ezra, Meshullam; of Amariah, Jehohanan;	13 di quello di Esdra, Mesullàm; di quello di Amaria, Giovanni;
14 Of Melicu, Jonathan; of Shebaniah, Joseph;	14 di quello di Malluk, Gionata; di quello di Sebania, Giuseppe;
15 Of Harim, Adna; of Meraioth, Helkai;	15 di quello di Carim, Adna; di quello di Meraiot, Chelkai;
16 Of Iddo, Zechariah; of Ginnethon, Meshullam;	16 di quello di Iddo, Zaccaria; di quello di Ghinneton, Mesullàm;
17 Of Abijah, Zichri; of Miniamin, of Moadiah, Piltai;	17 di quello di Abia, Zicri; di quello di Miniamin, e di quello di Moadia, Piltai;
18 Of Bilgah, Shammua; of Shemaiah, Jehonathan;	18 di quello di Bilga, Sammua; di quello di Semaia, Gionata;
19 And of Joiarib, Mattenai; of Jedaiah, Uzzi;	19 di quello di Ioiarib, Mattenai; di quello di Iedaia, Uzzi;
20 Of Sallai, Kallai; of Amok, Eber;	20 di quello di Sallu, Kallai; di quello di Amok, Eber;
21 Of Hilkiah, Hashabiah; of Jedaiah, Nethaneel.	21 di quello di Chelkia, Casabia; di quello di Iedaia, Netaneel.
22 The Levites in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, were recorded chief of the fathers: also the priests, to the reign of Darius the Persian.	22 I leviti furono registrati, quanto ai capi casato, al tempo di Eliasib, di Ioiada, di Giovanni e di Iaddua; e i sacerdoti sotto il regno di Dario il persiano.
23 The sons of Levi, the chief of the fathers, were written in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib.	23 I capi dei casati levitici sono registrati nel libro delle Cronache fino al tempo di Giovanni, figlio di Eliasib.
24 And the chief of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, ward over against ward.	24 I capi dei leviti Casabia, Serebia, Giosuè, figlio di Kadmiel, insieme con i loro fratelli, che stavano di fronte a loro, dovevano cantare inni e lodi a turni alternati, secondo l'ordine di Davide, uomo di Dio.
25 Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates.	25 Mattania, Bakbukia, Abdia, Mesullàm, Talmon, Akkub erano portieri e facevano la guardia ai magazzini delle porte.
26 These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest, the scribe.	26 Questi vivevano al tempo di Ioiachim figlio di Giosuè, figlio di Iozadak e al tempo di Neemia il governatore e di Esdra sacerdote e scriba.
27 And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps.	27 Per la dedicazione delle mura di Gerusalemme si mandarono a cercare i leviti da tutti i loro luoghi, per farli venire a Gerusalemme per celebrarvi una dedicazione festosa, con inni e canti, cembali, arpe e cetre.
28 And the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain country round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophathi;	28 Si adunarono dunque i cantori dalla regione attorno a Gerusalemme e dai villaggi dei Netofatiti,
29 Also from the house of Gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth: for the singers had builded them villages round about Jerusalem.	29 da Bet-Gàlgala e dalle campagne di Gheba e di Azmàvet, poiché i cantori si erano edificati villaggi nei dintorni di Gerusalemme.
30 And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, and purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.	30 I sacerdoti e i leviti si purificarono e purificarono il popolo, le porte e le mura.
31 Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies of them that gave thanks, whereof one went on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate:	31 Allora io feci salire i capi di Giuda sopra le mura e formai due grandi cori: il primo procedeva sulle mura, a destra, verso la porta del Letame.
32 And after them went Hoshaiah, and half of the princes of Judah,	32 Dietro a esso camminavano Osea e la metà dei capi di Giuda,
33 And Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam,	33 Azaria, Esdra, Mesullàm,
34 Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah,	34 Giuda, Beniamino, Semaia, Geremia,
35 And certain of the priests' sons with trumpets; namely, Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Michaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph:	35 appartenenti al coro dei sacerdoti, con trombe; Zaccaria, figlio di Gionata, figlio di Semaia, figlio di Mattania, figlio di Michea, figlio di Zaccur, figlio di Asaf,
36 And his brethren, Shemaiah, and Azarael, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethaneel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God, and Ezra the scribe before them.	36 e i suoi fratelli Semaia, Azareèl, Milalài, Ghilalài, Maài, Netaneèl, Giuda, Canàni, con gli strumenti musicali di Davide, uomo di Dio. Esdra, lo scriba, camminava davanti ad essi.
37 And at the fountain gate, which was over against them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the going up of the wall, above the house of David, even unto the water gate eastward.	37 Giunti alla porta della Sorgente, salirono frontalmente, al di sopra dei gradini della Città di Davide, fino alla porta delle Acque, a oriente.
38 And the other company of them that gave thanks went over against them, and I after them, and the half of the people upon the wall, from beyond the tower of the furnaces even unto the broad wall;	38 Il secondo coro s'incamminò verso la sinistra. Vi andavo dietro io e metà dei prìncipi del popolo, sulle mura. Passando oltre la torre dei Forni e fino al Muro Largo,
39 And from above the gate of Ephraim, and above the old gate, and above the fish gate, and the tower of Hananeel, and the tower of Meah, even unto the sheep gate: and they stood still in the prison gate.	39 oltre la porta di Efraim, la porta Vecchia e la porta dei Pesci, la torre di Cananeèl e la torre di Meale, fino alla porta delle Pecore. Si fece sosta alla porta della Prigione.
40 So stood the two companies of them that gave thanks in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me:	40 I due cori si fermarono poi nel tempio di Dio; così anch'io e la metà dei magistrati assieme a me,
41 And the priests; Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Michaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;	41 e i sacerdoti Eliakim, Maaseia, Miniamin, Michea, Elioenai, Zaccaria, Anania con le trombe,
42 And Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Uzzi, and Jehohanan, and Malchijah, and Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang loud, with Jezrahiah their overseer.	42 e Maaseia, Semaia, Eleazaro, Uzzi, Giovanni, Malchia, Elam, Ezer. I cantori fecero sentire la loro voce, mentre Izrachia li dirigeva.
43 Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy: the wives also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.	43 In quel giorno offrirono grandi sacrifici e si rallegrarono, perché Dio li aveva allietati con una gioia straordinaria. Anche le donne e i fanciulli presero parte alla letizia e il tripudio di Gerusalemme si udiva di lontano.
44 And at that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions of the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that waited.	44 In quell'occasione alcuni uomini furono preposti alle stanze che servivano da magazzini per le offerte, per le primizie e per le decime, allo scopo di raccogliervi, dai contadi delle città, i quantitativi fissati dalla legge per i sacerdoti e i leviti. Poiché i sacerdoti e i leviti nelle loro funzioni erano la gioia dei Giudei.
45 And both the singers and the porters kept the ward of their God, and the ward of the purification, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.	45 Essi assicuravano il servizio di Dio e il servizio delle purificazioni; altrettanto facevano i cantori e i portinai, secondo l'ordine di Davide e di Salomone, suo figlio.
46 For in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God.	46 Fin dall'antichità infatti, dai tempi di Davide e di Asaf, c'erano capi cantori, e cantici di lode e di ringraziamento venivano innalzati a Dio.
47 And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, every day his portion: and they sanctified holy things unto the Levites; and the Levites sanctified them unto the children of Aaron.	47 Ai tempi di Zorobabele e ai tempi di Neemia tutto Israele dava i quantitativi fissati per i cantori e i portinai, giorno per giorno; dava ai leviti le offerte sacre e i leviti ne davano ai figli di Aronne.
