Nehemiah 12

1 Now these are the priests and the Levites that went up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,	1 Estos son los sacerdotes y levitas que subieron con Zorobabel, hijo de Sealtiel, y con Josué: Seraías, Jeremías, Esdras,
2 Amariah, Malluch, Hattush,	2 Amarías, Maluc, Jatús,
3 Shechaniah, Rehum, Meremoth,	3 Secanías, Rejúm, Meremot,
4 Iddo, Ginnetho, Abijah,	4 Idó, Guinetón, Abías,
5 Miamin, Maadiah, Bilgah,	5 Miamín, Maadías, Bilgá,
6 Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jediah,	6 Semaías, y también Ioiarib, Iedaías,
7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chief of the priests and of their brethren in the days of Jeshua.	7 Salú, Amoc, Jilquías, Iedaías. Estos eran los jefes de los sacerdotes y de sus hermanos, en tiempos de Josué.
8 Moreover the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, which was over the thanksgiving, he and his brethren.	8 Los levitas eran: Josué, Binuí, Cadmiel, Serebías, Judá y Matanías, encargado de este último con sus hermanos de los himnos de alabanza.
9 Also Bakbukiah and Unni, their brethren, were over against them in the watches.	9 Bacbuquías, Uní y sus hermanos los asistían en sus cargos.
10 And Jeshua begat Joiakim, Joiakim also begat Eliashib, and Eliashib begat Joiada,	10 Josué fue padre de Ioiaquím; Ioiaquím fue padre de Eliasib; Eliasib fue padre de Ioiadá;
11 And Joiada begat Jonathan, and Jonathan begat Jaddua.	11 Ioiadá fue padre de Jonatán; Jonatán fue padre de Iadúa.
12 And in the days of Joiakim were priests, the chief of the fathers: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah;	12 En la época de Ioiaquím, los jefes de las familias sacerdotales era: de la familia de Seraías: Meraías; de la de Jeremías: Jananías;
13 Of Ezra, Meshullam; of Amariah, Jehohanan;	13 de la de Esdras: Mesulam; de la de Amarías: Iejojanam;
14 Of Melicu, Jonathan; of Shebaniah, Joseph;	14 de la de Melicú: Jonatán; de la de Sebanías: José;

17 Of Abijah, Zichri; of Miniamin, of Moadiah, Piltai;	17 de la de Adías: Zicrí; de la de Miamín...; de la de Maadías: Piltal;
18 Of Bilgah, Shammua; of Shemaiah, Jehonathan;	18 de la de Bilgá: Samuá; de la de Semaías: Jonatán;
19 And of Joiarib, Mattenai; of Jedaiah, Uzzi;	19 además, de la de Ioiarib: Matenái; de la de Iedaías: Uzí;
20 Of Sallai, Kallai; of Amok, Eber;	20 de la de Salái: Calái; de la de Amoc: Eber;
21 Of Hilkiah, Hashabiah; of Jedaiah, Nethaneel.	21 de la de Jilquías: Jasabías; de la de Iedaías: Netanel.
22 The Levites in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, were recorded chief of the fathers: also the priests, to the reign of Darius the Persian.	22 En la época de Eliasib, de Ioiadá, de Iojanán y de Iadúa, los jefes de las familias sacerdotales fueron registrados hasta el reinado de Darío, el persa.
23 The sons of Levi, the chief of the fathers, were written in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib.	23 Los jefes de familia de los hijos de Leví fueron registrados en el libro de las Crónicas, hasta la época de Iojanán, hijo de Eliasib.
24 And the chief of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, ward over against ward.	24 Los jefes de los levitas eran Jasabías, Serebías, Josué, Binuí, Cadmiel y sus hermanos, que los asistían alternándose por grupos en la alabanza y en la acción de gracias, según la orden de David, hombre de Dios.
25 Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates.	25 Matanías, Bacbuquías, Abdías, Mesulam, Talmón y Acub eran porteros y hacían guardia en los depósitos que estaban junto a las puertas.
26 These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest, the scribe.	26 Todos estos vivían en tiempos de Ioiaquím, hijo de Josué, hijo de Josadac, y en tiempos del gobernador Nehemías y del sacerdote escriba Esdras.
27 And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps.	27 Cuando se dedicaron las murallas de Jerusalén, se fue a buscar a los levitas de todos los sitios donde vivían para llevarlos a Jerusalén, a fin de celebrar alegremente esa dedicación, con cantos de acción de gracias y con música de címbalos, arpas y cítaras.
28 And the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain country round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophathi;	28 Los cantores, hijos de Leví, se reunieron de la región cercana a Jerusalén, de los pueblos de los Netofatitas,
29 Also from the house of Gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba and Azmaveth: for the singers had builded them villages round about Jerusalem.	29 de Bet Guilgal, de los campos de Gueba y de Azmávet; porque los cantores se habían construído pueblos alrededor de Jerusalén.
30 And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, and purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.	30 Los sacerdotes y los levitas se purificaron, y luego purificaron al pueblo, las puertas y las murallas.
31 Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies of them that gave thanks, whereof one went on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate:	31 Yo mandé entonces a los jefes de Judá que subieran a las murallas y organicé dos grandes coros. El primero avanzaba por encima de las murallas hacia la derecha, en dirección de la puerta del Basural.
32 And after them went Hoshaiah, and half of the princes of Judah,	32 Detrás de este grupo iba Josaías y la mitad de los jefes de Judá.
33 And Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam,	33 como así también Azarías, Esdras, Mesulam,
34 Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah,	34 Judá, Miamín, Semaías y Jeremías,
35 And certain of the priests' sons with trumpets; namely, Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Michaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph:	35 elegidos entre los sacerdotes y provistos de trompetas. Después iban Zacarías, hijo de Jonatán, hijo de Semaías, hijo de Matanías, hijo de Micá, hijo de Zacur, hijo de Asaf,
36 And his brethren, Shemaiah, and Azarael, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethaneel, and Judah, Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God, and Ezra the scribe before them.	36 con sus hermanos Semaías, Azarel, Milalai, Guilalai, Maai, Netanel, Judá y Jananí, provistos de los instrumentos musicales de David, hombre de Dios. Y el escriba Esdras iba al frente de todos ellos.
37 And at the fountain gate, which was over against them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the going up of the wall, above the house of David, even unto the water gate eastward.	37 A la altura de la puerta de la Fuente, subieron derecho por las gradas de la Ciudad de David, por la cuesta de la muralla, encima de la casa de David, hasta la puerta del Agua, hacia el este.
38 And the other company of them that gave thanks went over against them, and I after them, and the half of the people upon the wall, from beyond the tower of the furnaces even unto the broad wall;	38 El segundo coro avanzaba hacia la izquierda; yo iba detrás con la otra mitad de los jefes del pueblo, por encima de la muralla, pasando por la torre de los Hornos y hasta el muro Ancho,
39 And from above the gate of Ephraim, and above the old gate, and above the fish gate, and the tower of Hananeel, and the tower of Meah, even unto the sheep gate: and they stood still in the prison gate.	39 y después por encima de la puerta de Efraím, la puerta de la Vieja, la puerta de los Pescados, la torre de Jananel y la torre de los Cien, hasta la puerta de las Ovejas, y nos detuvimos en la puerta de la Inspección.
40 So stood the two companies of them that gave thanks in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me:	40 Los dos coros se ubicaron en la Casa de Dios. Junto a mí estaban la mitad de los magistrados
41 And the priests; Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Michaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;	41 y los sacerdotes Eliaquím, Maaseías, Miniamín, Miqueas, Elioenai, Zacarías y Jananías, provistos de trompetas
42 And Maaseiah, and Shemaiah, and Eleazar, and Uzzi, and Jehohanan, and Malchijah, and Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang loud, with Jezrahiah their overseer.	42 y Maaseías, Semaías, Eleazar, Uzí, Iehojanán, Malaquías, Elam y Ezer. Los cantores entonaron su canto bajo la dirección de Izrajías.
43 Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy: the wives also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.	43 Aquel día, se ofrecieron grandes sacrificios y hubo mucha alegría, porque Dios les había dado un gran motivo de gozo. También las mujeres y los niños compartían la alegría, y el regocijo de Jerusalén se oía desde lejos.
44 And at that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions of the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that waited.	44 En aquel tiempo, se nombró a los encargados de los depósitos destinados a almacenar las contribuciones, las primicias y los diezmos, a fin de guardar las porciones asignadas por la Ley a los sacerdotes y levitas, las cuales provenían de los campos cercanos a las ciudades. Porque la gente de Judá estaba contenta con los sacerdotes y levitas que ejercían sus funciones.
45 And both the singers and the porters kept the ward of their God, and the ward of the purification, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.	45 Ellos, en efecto, aseguraban el culto de su Dios y los ritos de purificación –lo mismo que los cantores y porteros– conforme a las órdenes de David y de su hijo Salomón.
46 For in the days of David and Asaph of old there were chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God.	46 Porque desde tiempos antiguos, en los días de David, Asaf había sido el jefe de los cantores y se entonaban cantos de alabanza y de acción de gracias a Dios.
47 And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, every day his portion: and they sanctified holy things unto the Levites; and the Levites sanctified them unto the children of Aaron.	47 Todo Israel, en tiempos de Zorobabel y de Nehemías, daba día tras día las porciones asignadas a los cantores y porteros. También se daba a los levitas las ofrendas santas, y estos entregaban su parte a los hijos de Aarón.
