1 Then David said, This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.	1 Davide disse: Esta é a casa de Deus, e este é o altar para os holocaustos que Israel há-de oferecer,
2 And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.	2 Mandou que se juntassem todos os estrangeiros que havia na terra de Israel e tomou deles os cabouqueiros para cortarem e lavrarem as pedras, a fim de se edificar a casa de Deus.
3 And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;	3 Davide preparou também muitíssimo ferro para os pregos das portas e para travar as juntas, e uma quantidade imensa de bronze.
4 Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.	4 Eram igualmente inestimáveis as madeiras de cedro, que os Sidónios e os Tírios tinham levado a Davide.
5 And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the LORD must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.	5 Davide disse: Meu filho Salomão é um moço pequeno e tenro; a casa, porém, que eu desejo que se edifique ao Senhor, deve ser tal que seja nomeada em todos os países. Preparar-lhe-ei, pois, para ele o necessário. Por esta razão, antes da sua morte, dispôs todas as coisas precisas.
6 Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the LORD God of Israel.	6 Depois chamou seu filho Salomão e ordenou-lhe que edificasse a casa do Senhor Deus de Israel.
7 And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God:	7 Davide disse a Salomão: Meu filho, tive vontade de edificar uma casa ao nome do Senhor meu Deus.
8 But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.	8 O Senhor, porém, falou-me, dizendo: Tu tens derramado muito sangue, tens dado muitas batalhas; tu não poderás edificar uma casa ao meu nome, depois de tanto sangue derramado na minha presença.
9 Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.	9 Nascer-te-á um filho, que será um homem de paz, porque eu o porei em paz com todos os seus inimigos em roda; por esta causa será chamado o Pacífico: eu darei paz e descanso a Israel durante todos os seus dias.
10 He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.	10 Ele edificará uma casa ao meu nome; ele será meu filho, eu serei seu pai e firmarei o trono do seu reino sobre Israel eternamente.
11 Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee.	11 Agora, pois, o Senhor seja contigo, meu filho, para que prosperes e edifiques uma casa ao Senhor teu Deus, como ele predisse de ti.
12 Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God.	12 O Senhor te dê também prudência e siso, para que possas governar Israel e guardar a lei do Senhor teu Deus.
13 Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.	13 Então poderás prosperar, se guardares os mandamentos e as leis que o Senhor mandou a Moisés que ensinasse a Israel; arma-te de fortaleza e procede varonilmente; não temas nada, nem te desalentes.
14 Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.	14 Vês que, pelos meus esforços, preparei para os gastos da casa do Senhor cem mil talentos de ouro e um milhão de talentos de prata; o bronze, porém, e o ferro não têm peso, porque a sua quantidade excede todo o cálculo; tenho prontas madeiras e pedras para todas as necessidades.
15 Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.	15 Tens também muitíssimos operários, canteiros, pedreiros, carpinteiros, e de todas as artes os mais apurados na execução de qualquer tamanho,
16 Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.	16 em ouro e em prata, em cobre e em ferro, cujo número é incalculável. Levanta-te, pois, e mete mãos à obra, que o Senhor será contigo.
17 David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,	17 Mandou Davide a todos os chefes de Israel que ajudassem seu filho Salomão.
18 Is not the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.	18 Vós vêdes, lhes disse, que o Senhor vosso Deus está convosco, que vos deu a paz por todas as partes, que entregou todos os vossos inimigos nas vossas mãos e que a terra está sujeita diante do Senhor e diante do seu povo.
19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.	19 Disponde, pois, os vossos corações e as vossas almas, para buscardes o Senhor vosso Deus; levantai-vos e edificai o santuário ao Senhor Deus, para que a arca da aliança do Senhor e os vasos consagrados ao Senhor sejam trasladados para a casa que se edificar ao nome do Senhor.
